Glenn Beck on the End Game: The New World Order

deedub81 says...

@ volumptuous: Dude! You're WAY off. First of all, the link you provided was for a forum that was held 8 years ago, not a few days ago. Regardless, are we to believe that Politicians can't twist what the professors say about a New World Order? Is it not possible for a Professor to have an agenda? Just read what Professor Mundell says about currency and monetary policy:

"I think it is a wonderful idea to raise consciousness about the importance of a world currency and I have been an advocate for a long time of a world currency..." -Robert Mundell IMF Economic Forum -Wednesday, November 8, 2000

"Suppose we did have a single currency in the world...[that] covered the whole world but that each country was a sovereign country. ...What would be the upshot of it? Would that be a stable relationship? I think not. It wouldn't be stable..." -Robert Mundell IMF Economic Forum
-Wednesday, November 8, 2000

Sorry, but Glenn Beck is absolutely right about China and France and everything else he said.
Read these:

China: 'New world Currency'

French President Nicolas Sarkozy calls for a New World Order.

Forbes: 'Brave New World'

Russia: USA must have minimized role in NWO Economy.

The Western Nations vs. a New World Order

A Second Cold War? US vs Russia

I could go on, and on.

I agree that Beck likes to 'rile people up.' You think this is different than liberal anchors?

>> ^volumptuous:
Glenn has a great way with completely mangling things to make his point.
At no point has either "China" or "France" suggested there should be one world currency. For Glenn to suggest as much (oh, conveniently leaving out any source or reference point) means he's either lying, or uninformed.
My guess is, both.
Because what he's talking about is the IMF forum from a few days ago, titled "One World, One Currency. Destination or Delusion?".
The forum was about pros and cons of such an issue, with economists from Columbia, Berkeley, and elsewhere. It was a "what if" forum, not some illuminati gathering of evil, leftist overlords who are ready to create a new world order.
These were fucking professors, not politicians!
Glenn Beck, once again, a total douchebag with only one goal: lying through his teeth to rile people up.

If you'd like to read what Glenn was lying about:

It's Possible This Guy Was Smoking A Bit Of Marijuana...

If you don't know how to reply to it, how could you have written "sickening" at the end?

What's so wrong with his comment, anyway? John McCain was shot down while on a bombing raid. Do you really think that those raids were somehow targeting only the North Vietnamese with smart bombs? As if no civilians were massacred?

You remember the napalm scene from Apocalypse Now? That could have been McCain.

I don't even know how to reply to this. Sickening.

Apocalypse Now meets our lost consumerist age. Why do I have the uncomfortable Jungian sense that I've just encountered too much reality? Maybe if I just shiver a bit and go back to drinking bourbon and watching videos on my Macbook I can forget this video ever happened

Top 5 Directors? (Cinema Talk Post)

kronosposeidon says...

1. Kurosawa
2. Scorsese
3. Alexander Payne
4. Welles
5. Coen Brothers

Honorable Mention:

6. Francis Ford Coppola - Sure, his later work sucked, but anyone who made The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, AND Apocalypse Now deserves at least some sort of recognition, for crying out loud.

7. Sergio Leone - How could no one mention him? He did The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, Once Upon a Time in The West, and Once Upon a Time in America. Show a little respect, capisce?

8. Steven Spielberg - Some people hate him, but he's given us a lot of good films.

9. John Waters - Hello? Why am I the only one to mention this genius?

10. Hitchcock - No explanation necessary.

This video is terrible, no doubt about it. But now I have to throw a fly in the ointment regarding a proposed "no animal abuse" policy. What about this scene:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mG6AE0mlxHw

It's been re-edited from the original scene in "Apocalypse Now", but anyone who's seen the movie knows about the water buffalo sacrifice. And it was a real animal sacrifice. Should a video like this be banned too, or will we let it slip through a loophole for "art" and/or "religion"?

And what if someone decided to post a video about animal abuse that takes place with circus animals, like maybe one produced by the Humane Society or the ASPCA? Or what if someone posted a video about how veal is produced, i.e., by penning the animal in a cage so tightly that it can't move, thus making its muscles weak and therefore tender? Or how chickens and turkeys are tightly packed into production facilities?

All I'm saying is that if we craft a new policy regarding animal abuse videos, it needs to be done VERY carefully.

Is this clip really the "Best of the web?"

Meh, maybe it is, maybe its not. It's funny that everyone is up in arms about it. Mostly because nobody's going AWWWWWWWWWW to the thousands dead over there. When we see videos of the carnage of war usually its combined with heavy metal rock music.

Do you remember the Puppy Scene from Apocalypse Now?

What's my av, you ask? Have you ever seen "Apocalypse Now"? That's Captain Willard (Martin Sheen), slowly emerging from the river, ready to assassinate Colonel Kurtz. One of my all time favorite movies.

I thought you might like that video, if for no other reason than the tribute being paid to health professionals, both research and treatment alike.

You can turn your non-existent pager off now.
