I'm not hiring bad cops. If I were, I could put the resources in to investigate applicants for them. With 5 VS pages of 'bad cop', and 6 pages of 'police abuse' alone, it's quite a job, one I don't intend to take up to satisfy you, but I'm satisfied any competent HR person could find out just about anything they've done that might matter. If I felt like spending an hour doing it, I could find 99% of them on VS....I don't.
Often applicants are required to list their accounts (facebook, twitter, etc) so they can be looked at easily. And there are sites that record those sites so even erased posts can be investigated.
So yes, it's eternal, now isn't it? I won't remember this guy in less than a week, as there's no reason to, fortunately or unfortunately, employers have resources and reasons I don't.

This is awesome. There's another group doing something semi-similar with Deloreans. Only in that they're making a real business out of transforming old, existing objects into modern, products. Right up my alley though.

We're part of the problem because we believe that people should take precautions and avoid unnecessary risks? Make no mistake, it's awful that someone stole her pictures and distributed them on the web. She's definitely the victim here. Nobody is arguing otherwise. However, making angry videos chastising the people who perpetrated these crimes is a waste of time. They knew exactly what they were doing and most certainly don't feel any remorse. Explaining the psychological impact of leaked nude pictures isn't going to convert those people into saints.

There are a lot of assholes in the world who don't care about your feelings or your rights. You should take that into account with every choice you make, such as taking nude pictures of yourself and sharing them with others on the internet. People take precautions all the time. You lock your doors, you look both ways before crossing the street, you don't carry too much cash at any given time, you stay out of dark alleys, you wear warm clothing in cold weather, you cover the seats of public toilets before using them, you wash your hands after using toilets, you get flu shots, etc. Using the internet should be treated no differently. Teaching people that sobering fact is going to be way more productive than trying to turn assholes into good people.

Two days of great weather motivated me to pick up Naomi Klein's new book, Capitalism vs The Climate.

A mere ~160 pages in, I'm inclined to say that it's even more thought-provoking than The Shock Doctrine.

The early chapters include some digressions into the psychology behind climate change denial, at least with regards to its extreme forms within the US. I'll refrain from posting my own interpretation of her conclusion.

In any case, her reasoning is highly convincing to me, which made it all the more disturbing when I tried, and subsequently failed, to come up with a set of arguments to challenge this particular psychological/cultural root of absolute denial. It never occured to me to consider the enormous ramifications a step away from denial would have, given a certain cultural background...

Well, that was awfully abstract, so let me present my tl;dr:
