I don't understand, this seems very reasonable. She's talking about socializing the burden of public schooling instead of making them private or voucher schools. So for instance I care if the children in my town get a good education, I want them to learned and have a good future. I'm willing to pay taxes to let that happen, especially if that means they get to have some food in the morning and afternoon, when a lot of kids can't afford breakfast.

So even though she words it sort of stupidly, this is basic human caring for one another. You have to work very hard to drive out the instinct to give a crap about people. Unfortunately the public relations industry has been pretty successful at it. You're not supposed to care if kids starve near you, you have your own big screen and your team is doing well, fuck everything else.

@sanderbos, yer joking, right? Last time I checked a table fulla candles were flammable enough to ignite grain alcohol at 2600 °F (candle, burning match) and stunt-doubles were still cost-prohibitive for school chums or wage-slaves to afford.
That was a glass coffee table and that inordinately large ass may have had some cuts after that and those not from any editing suite.

So I did an unofficial survey at work this afternoon.

One lesbian was totally with me -- it is fine to "out" yourself. She even said what I said -- everyone wins when people decide to leave the closet.

She also agrees with you (and me) that outing someone else is horrible.

She had no trouble with the phrase "outing herself."

The next person I asked was a straight woman. She didn't even know what I was talking about AT ALL.

Our first project has produced two anime-music videos created - one by UrumaDelvi with David Byrne and the other by Yutaka Yamamoto with Sigur Ros. Our goal is to raise money for charity programs like School Music Revival using the videos.

Power lines are very hard to see from the air. Fuck they're not easy to see from the ground either when you're going 70mph. Next time your driving down the highway keep an eye out for them and see just how close you are to them when you're able to notice them. Now imagine being in the air, landing with no power to go around and have one come into view that close.

It might look fine from up there, but with your engine out and only one chance at putting the plane down safely do you want to take a chance and go for the road then find a power line in your face or a car(s) that you didn't see before or do you go for an open field with no obstacles?

I knew a pilot that got killed landing on a road. He was a regular at the airport I worked at during the summers. He owned a construction company and would regularly fly over and inspect his construction sites. He flew in to the airport one afternoon to get fuel, the next day I was reading about his crash in the paper. After he left the airport he flew to a construction site. He had engine trouble and decided to land on a road near the construction site. A truck pulled out in front of him and he tried to pull up to avoid it, but there was a power line in the way which caused the plane to nose dive into the ground and catch fire. The crash site wasn't far from the airport, so one day I drove out there. There was a perfectly good field next to the road he could have landed on, but I'm guessing he went for the road to avoid damaging his plane.

Oaktown is famous for "sideshow" shit like this, but rarely in the middle of the afternoon.. and.. I'm surprised they're doing it on the 880 like that... it's a major thoroughfare!

One afternoon's worth of conditioning isn't enough to turn average Buster Curtis into a psychotic, duck-hating mass-murderer, is it?
