Putin invaded Crimea before Trump, true, and we eventually responded with harsh sanctions under Obama/Biden (not as harsh as now, we had less support). Trump’s people, before taking office, were on tape promising to remove any sanctions as soon as he took office, a crime btw and what Flynn went down for….then he recognized Russian Crimea halting any further international response.

sound like we agree the dog was scared but to what degree. for me its zero tolerance. i see the dog standing still, staring directly at him, knowing the man is aggravated and owner is startled too. you can see the dog go into sunken stature with ears back still staring. dog clearly knows something is wrong.

also agree she's (the bigger) asshole for doing this, but as a life-long dog owner you see this conflict play out countless times and usually using a normal voice to talk to the person is enough and you gain a new dog friend.

she seems to be a good doggo owner (takes dog for walks, dog has a jacket and seems happy otherwise) and hopefully this incident will help her close the gap on being an awesome pet owner.

The imagery makes me think of my army service, on the other side of the iron curtain, we used to have a compulsory 2 years (1 year for university graduates after school, fortunately) so all the 18 yo kids got "drafted" for two years, not to war, but you never knew...

Everyone hated to go, hated it while there, it was a total waste of time, buggery, bigotry, boredom, drink and drugs, women, etc.
Everyone counted down the time to go home day by day like in jail.

Yet everyone posed for heroic photographs, preferably with their tanks (our group stood in front of our kitchen :-) and pretended to be manly.

That is how I see Vietnam, scared kids thrown into a difficult to justify war against the local people in a foreign country. Unenviable.

They deserve all the accolades and any help they can be given tenfold. Also they were all heroes if they did not chicken out.

And god bless America (meaning the US of A) if it can come up with a better way to pick wars. Kind of a hint is if you have to "defeat" the whole local population to win, dont start.

Sounds like just over a week earlier he went without his gun, and told people he was upset he didn’t have it to shoot them with. Next trip he brought it and shot 3. That’s not self defense, it’s a planned human hunt.

No one threatened to beat him before he pointed his gun at them.
No one threatened to beat him in his home state that he left, illegally armed and looking for trouble.
He says the unarmed guy he shot in the head threatened to beat him up if he caught him alone, so clearly being scared of that threat and taking it seriously, he left his friends and followed his victim for blocks, alone, I can only guess hoping to get beaten up….or hunting the guy who disrespected him. You choose, either way, shooting was a choice based on a situation he intentionally put himself in. That’s murder 1.

I would suggest that a good guy with a gun successfully stopping a bad guy with a gun is so incredibly rare it’s not exaggerating to say it just doesn’t happen statistically, but good guys without guns stopping bad guys with guns happens almost daily….because bad guys with guns are cowardly children.
