I wanted to share a cool sci-fi, VFX heavy film I produced called Plurality. The film was conceived by Ryan Condal (screenwriter for Paradise Lost, Hercules, Cell 211) and directed by Dennis Liu of @radical.media. We shot it for no money, with a couple friends over a year and a half.

It takes place in 2023 NYC, where the WTC1/Freedom Tower houses THE GRID, a city-wide system that tracks all of your movements to reduce crime. The film confronts the issues of privacy and surveillance for the sake of safety.

After the Freedom Tower was knocked down in 2019 by The Genetic Nihilist Union using their reasonable facsimile of the Cloverfield creature, New York decided to rebuild the original towers. This act is also considered to be the main impetus for the "Kill All Scientists" movement spearheaded by then President Sarah Palin allowing ultimately for her 3rd, 4th, and 5th terms. As is widely known, her 6th term was interupted by the so-called "Second Coming" when Jesus returned because, "You are all just the most RETARDED people I have ever met. I can't believe I actually died for this shit, fer my sake."

Fortunately they did abandon that name. Unfortunately, most of us have been hearing it for the better part of a decade now and it kinda stuck.

I was expecting him to turn "1 World Trade Center" into a conspiracy theory about a new world order.

"Freedom Tower" never really rang with me, though it would have been less irritating if "freedom" and "liberty" hadn't been turned into marketing buzzwords after the attacks.

Something about him whoring 9/11 to rant agaisnt China, France, Cuba, Obama and some other shit.
Why do they hate our freedoms ?
Freedom tower ? Why not paint a giant target on it. One world seems a lot more peaceful.

I for one really despised the name. The tower has nothing to do with freedom. It is a center of commerce. The people who died there were not freedom fighters. They were primarily financial workers.
Naming the building the "Freedom Tower" was another example of how that day's events have been co-opted by politicians, the media, and anybody with an agenda other than actually honoring the people who died or focusing on what we should actually learn from what happened.

If that's the intent of the name, then nope, not irked, not at all. I'm unaware of any other worlds that we've populated, so far. If it is intended to be "One World" as the focus, I think that's a perfect name.

Omg, you conspiracy nuts never stop. Why would having the first tenant be a huge corporation from mainland China have anything to do with it not being Freedom Tower? China's stand on civil rights and freedoms is well known and...

Well, this guy seems to be saying powerful things, but they don't really add up.

Does anyone really believe he's angry that there's no "official" memorial? I don't. The "Freedom Towers" due in 2012 look goofy, and the water-filled footprints of the Towers will remain as the memorial.

What really boggles is that this guy and others of his ilk are the most angry with Prez Bush.
They hate Bush the most but Bush isn't homicide bombing, firing rockets into Israel, keeping women uneducated and wrapped in tablecloths and cutting the heads off of innocent journalists.

Now those who do, in fact, STILL believe that jihadist lunatics can be reasoned with are grumbling that they weren't invited to the party, though they had been. There can be no "bi-partisan" support for ANY war when the other guys don't have a clue about national defense and furthermore, want no part of it.

The terrorists are winning? Utter crap. If they weren't terrified of a free Iraq and--Allah forbid!--another democratic country in the Middle East, they wouldn't be trying so hard to disrupt daily life there. As one smart guy said, "Iraq is not our Vietnam, it's Al-Qaida's."

What's really sad is that archliberals like Olbermann, by default, HAVE to want us to lose in Iraq. After all, if Iraq makes it as a free nation, that means WAR WORKS.
