4.5 Billion Years in 1 Hour

newtboy says...

Tell me everything that’s happened until now.

First the earth cooled.
Then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat and died and made oil.
Then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzs.
Then Prince Charles started wearing Lady Di’s clothes. I couldn’t believe it! He just put on her best dress and walked into town!

Points for the first person to identify this short history of earth

You know, the sad thing here is, there are actual conservative principals worth defending. Conserve as in conservation as in conservative as in keep things the same. Keep em stable.

So when I see "conservatives" at the Supreme Court pretty much upending 50 years of legal precedent, it - much like the laws the would supposedly conserve - is confusing. Like the man who nominated most of them at this point, previous law doesn't seem to affect their decisions if their religious zealotry needs to be front and center.

Therefore, why obey ever changing laws? Just wait until it's overturned. Wait until the other political party can install more judges who are partial to that issue.

Bah

Oh hey I saw Elon musk was the first person ever to lose $200,000,000,000 in a year. Pretty cool. Tesla stock at all time low and VW & NISSAN sold about 10x the electric vehicles in 2022 that tesla did. But you aren't invested in them, all cash in a mattress right ?

FBI Seize Gaetz’s Phone Amid Sex Trafficking Investigation

Lol.
You really have no clue at all, do you?

“Turd like me”….a compliment from you, and hilariously lacking in self awareness.

Actively trolling old videos…me…yeah, that’s it bobby. I’m constantly checking every video ever posted to see if you said something, not just surfing the comments page and correcting your hyperbole and lies and constant hypocrisy. You didn’t look up a 1 1/2 year old video to attempt to advance a far right narrative and gloat, no, that didn’t happen, never.

Q: Are you saying that if this uncorroborated WaPo article based on anonymous sources was critical of Gaetz or Trump you would give it the same credence? I think not. You are so transparent that it’s not even fun…you’re the first person I’ve ever known that makes a better window than you do a door. 😂

Odd that a turd like you are actively trolling old vids just to counter narratives.

Professor Brian Harvey On Why Not To Cheat

Mordhaus says...

Humans have been using drugs since the first person ate the wrong plant and got high instead of dying.

If you look at most drugs in nature, it is almost impossible to OD on them IN THEIR NATURAL FORM.

It's only when we alter that using chemicals, heat, or modifying the plant's genetic code via cross-pollination that we get drugs that destroy people.

Conversely, drugs that have been distilled from natural sources have also saved millions from death or from chemical imbalances in their bodies.

Man made drugs keep me on a (mostly) even keel. Without them my life is hell. Not from addiction, but because my body's chemicals are out of whack.

Yet some man made drugs are poison and should not be used (or extremely rarely). Most opioids fall directly into that category. Still, it is the corporate greed and misuse of these drugs that make them an ignored epidemic.

I could go on, but TL;DR

Natural drugs are a gift to humankind. Man Made drugs are a mixed bag.

Honestly you could walk down any street in America, close your eyes and spin around. First person you see when you open them would be a better President.

That guy loading stolen TVs in the back of a van?

Better president.

The drug dealer on the corner?

WAY better president (at least he understands business, and you know he knows how to actually make a deal)

2 Year-old who just shit his diaper?

Yep, better president.

And that's not to mention all the hard-working, honest, intelligent people out there.

Biden may not be amazing, but he's competent, he really wants to help people, and you know what, Bob? Unlike Trump, Biden actually cares if his policies Make America Great.

Trump Gives Mitt Romney A Cool New Nickname

JiggaJonson says...

@bobknight33 You are an asshole. Like others have said, Mitt isn't someone I agree with but he seems to be an honest person when it counts.

John McCain was someone who I loathed mostly for picking that religious-nut-writhing-on-the-ground-chanting Sarah Palin. Genuine policy disagreements and VP pick aside though, he was a patriotic American and highlights just what a traitor this president and his supporters are to this country in comparison.

That said, he spent 5 years being tortured in Vietnam rather than leaving immediately because he refused to leave without his fellow American captors.

John McCain was and remains an honorable person and a patriotic American who cared about his own.

Here's a detailed account https://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2008/01/28/john-mccain-prisoner-of-war-a-first-person-account

"What they wanted, of course, was to send me home at the same time that my father took over as commander in the Pacific. This would have made them look very humane in releasing the injured son of a top U. S. officer. It would also have given them a great lever against my fellow prisoners, because the North Vietnamese were always putting this "class" business on us. They could have said to the others "Look, you poor devils, the son of the man who is running the war has gone home and left you here. No one cares about you ordinary fellows." I was determined at all times to prevent any exploitation of my father and my family.

There was another consideration for me. Even though I was told I would not have to sign any statements or confessions before I went home, I didn't believe them. They would have got me right up to that airplane and said, "Now just sign this little statement." At that point, I doubt that I could have resisted, even though I felt very strong at the time.

But the primary thing I considered was that I had no right to go ahead of men like Alvarez, who had been there three years before I "got killed"—that's what we say instead of "before I got shot down," because in a way becoming a prisoner in North Vietnam was like being killed."

Don't ever talk about him again you fucking traitor.

How This Cyclist Hit 184MPH and Set the World Record

BSR says...

I'm sure the tow, to get her up to speed, has to do with reducing wind and weight. The addition of the gearing needed to get her to up to those speeds without assistance would be ridiculous.

The point is, she broke a previous record using the same rules as the first person. If a pro wants to break the record he (or she) can follow the same rules. I have a feeling not many pros would take the risk and would be happy being on the lower shelf or different category. She accepted the challenge. AND SHE'S NOT EVEN A PRO!

Which i would guess could be achieved by a ridiculous amount of riders (with equal equipment), if so inclined. I doubt the rider has as much to do with it as the bike itself, and dragster slip stream. I also believe her balls are quite large to do such a thing.

Twins take 5 DNA Ancestry tests and get 'mystifying' results

nanrod says...

I have to say that as a Canadian I was disappointed in this program. I don't think they raised the right points or asked the right questions. I do think these services hype themselves to much and maybe many people go into this with exaggerated expectations of what they can do for you. I did both 23andMe and Ancestry and to me the strength lies in identifying possible relatives. Fortunately for me, the first person on my relative list is my daughter who apparently shares exactly 50.0% of my DNA.

The question is, should this be in the *debunked channel? Sure does seem like a bit of a scam.

The evidence showing that cholesterol is related to clogged arteries is this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqKNfyUPzoU Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn (aka, the first person to demostate that heart-disease is curable) explains it in this TEDx Talk.

This is supported by Dr. Kim A. Williams President of the American College of Cardiology, and well as a study done by Dr. Dean Ornish, the doctor you've mentioned before.

There's also some 1300 studies by Dr. William C. Roberts and he concludes that cholesterol is the only major factor.

------

The evidence showing that dietary cholesterol is unrelated to blood cholesterol is........ funded by the egg board where they take people with maxed out cholesterol, and give them eggs, and the result is that their cholesterol cannot climb any higher.

If you like, dig up the studies, and I'll show you their scam :-)

But studies aside, you can literally test this yourself - eat no cholesterol for a week or two, and it will go down, and back up again when you start eating it. It's really that simple.

eric3579 said:

I'm not sure how you got to not eating cholesterol will clean out your arteries. Dietary cholesterol has no relationship with raising cholesterol in the blood.
