Justino
from the source @ youtube:
The animated film, “#Justino,” features a security guard at a mannequin factory. Since Justino works the graveyard shift, he has very few chances to interact with his coworkers. With a little bit of creativity, Justino devises ways to connect with his colleagues by using the factory’s mannequins to create situations both amusing and moving. His coworkers appreciate his playfulness each morning, and find a way to repay his generous spirit in kind.
One new feature this year is social media activation. The factory, “Fábrica de Maniquíes El Pilar,” has its own Facebook profile reporting on its day-to-day activities. And we can follow Justino’s nights in real time via his Instagram account @justino_vigilante.
On Nov. 16, #Justino, from the animated short, became the No. 1 trending topic in Spain and No. 5 in the world on Twitter. The film exceeded 1 million views on YouTube within a day.
A national tradition since 1812, Spaniards look forward to the annual Christmas lottery even if it means standing in line for hours to purchase the tickets. Nicknamed El Gordo, which means “the fat one,” prizes are valued up to more than €2.2 billion, making it the biggest lottery prize in the world.
It’s common to “share” the lottery by buying “participaciones,” or “shared tickets” at offices, with friends and family, and at bars. The belief is that the Christmas lottery is unique because it’s one that Spaniards participate in together, and if they win, they win together.

Your video, El Niño Erosion Leaves Pacifica Apartments On The Brink, has made it into the Top 15 New Videos listing. Congratulations on your achievement. For your contribution you have been awarded 1 Power Point.
El Niño is back. Here's how it works.
El Nino causes coral bleeching? That's when the symbiotic algae that gives the coral its color dies off. In the long run, those reefs bleeching out will die off and that will cause more long term problems in those oceans. Fuuucking BABY JESUS!
Climate Change; Latest science update
New, just released ocean temperature data has shown a dramatic increase in temperatures in the Northern Pacific, and a dramatic decrease in surface temperatures in the Northern Atlantic. As I understand it, those readings are not consistent with normal 'El Nino' patterns. Could this be the beginning of the end of thermohaline circulation? If that happens we'll be facing unavoidable, unpredictable, worldwide, disastrous climate change in short order.
Without the current created by the thermohaline circulations, the oceans die. Equatorial waters become much hotter...fast...and arctic and Antarctic waters become much colder...fast. Ocean organisms can't live through that kind of change, not in any sizeable way anyway. Without the oceans, the entire food web dissolves and we die.
On top of that, without the currents bringing oxygen to the lower oceans, they become anoxic. The bacteria that live in those deep waters will feed on the dead sea life and create toxic gases (hydrogen sulfide) which have, in the past, completed the extinction events by wiping out nearly all life. Once that starts, it's unstoppable and is the end. Let's hope these readings are just an over active El Nino.
What we do today has little to no effect for 50-100 years. That makes us at least 50 years too late to solve this problem, and we are still exacerbating it rather than solving it to this day.
We're hosed.
If you plan on having children in this climate, you are a child abuser IMO, and are adding to the problem with that one action more than almost any other action normal people perform. Your children will most likely not survive to old age, and absolutely won't experience the same quality of life you have.
I AM EL NINO!
El Nino will be back soon!
*parody *wtf *nature *latenight
I had completely forgotten this sketch... now *I'm* going to think of it every time I hear El Nino too! Heh
Bizarre River of Sand Flowing in Saudi Arabia
It hailed. This is what happens in deserts when it rains or in this case hails... The US will probably see a lot more of this type of thing in the news from the monster El Nino that is coming our way.
We Were Promised Jetpacks
I would even have said North Africa was a different region to the Middle East
I don't really see the need to hold it back. It is close, in the sense of only the entire country of Saudi Arabia between the filming location and Egypt, but it's not as if it was filmed at Sharm El Sheikh.
Actually I would argue against holding it back even if it was filmed there, or in the Sinai.
Well, OK...but it's still in the same region. I guess 'close, but no cigar'?
It would have made sense for them to put off releasing it then, since they seemed to have released it after the crash.
We Were Promised Jetpacks
It's 2100kms from Dubai to Sharm El Sheikh, so not THAT close, and anyway this was filmed several weeks before the crash.
Considering how close this is to where a plane recently crashed due to terrorism, I can't believe they did this. Are they trying to give the terrorists new ideas? Yikes!

Well, it seems as if the election of Corbyn encourages some military officials to channel their inner el-Sisi:

And here I thought Cameron calling the newly elected leader of the opposition party a "threat to national security" was as wierd as it gets. I should have known better...
VideoSift v6 (VS6) Beta Front Page (Sift Talk Post)
Also, why does home page shows unpromoted videos under "Just Published"? I see videos that have only have three votes like http://videosift.com/video/El-Mojado-Sin-Licencia-FLACO-JIMENEZ-1975 and http://videosift.com/video/The-Weeknd-Cant-Feel-My-Face ...
I only want to see promoted, stickied, and videos that ha(ve/d) 10+ votes.
Kiwi Pronounces eYes
Yeah, there's an old joke which actually got me a few years ago:
Obviously, this is meant to be spoken rather than written.
what does "em eh cee dee oh en eh el dee " spell? MacDonald
what does "em eh cee cee eh are tee haich why " spell? MacCarthy
what does "em eh cee haich eye ehn eee" spell?
Lots of people will say MacHine.
I feel for him. I constantly get mind-stuck like that. Get locked into a pattern that takes a concerted effort to back out of. Especially if I'm concentrating on, or preoccupied with, something else.
I probably would have figured it out faster and just started being pigheaded about it, though. Then made the joke of when she asked, "what does eYes mean?" I would have replied "the opposite of eNo."
