I was going to ask what is the advantage of block building over regular building in place (though I'm sure I've heard the explanation via Discovery Channel, History Channel or National Geographic Channel special on modern mega ship building) but found something that explained it well enough: http://www.marineinsight.com/naval-architecture/advantages-of-advanced-outfitting-shipbuilding/. So now just looking for a further ELI5 confirmation/explanation.

That's why those Indian folks wear a mask on the back of their head when they're out in tiger country. Ah, I learned that on the Discovery Channel back before it was all military and disaster porn (oh, and shark week).

German Channel ProSieben - Galileo featured Miroslaw Magola who promotes Telekinesis. Real Magneto, X- Men, Miroslaw Magola's telekinesis is achieved by projecting a portion of his consciousness in the object that he want to move.

Kaku notes that his “book goes even further, analyzing when one day we might have a complete map of the brain, or a back up Brain 2.0, which may allow scientists to send consciousness throughout the universe.” Miroslaw Magola alias "Magnetic Man," ( Magnet Mann ) known form Stan Lee's Superhumans - MInd Force who allegedly exhibits telekinetic powers aired on History and Discovery Channel born in Poland and now living in Germany. The Weird World of Octopus Sex

grinter says...

Nat Geo puts out such trash these days. Even the Discovery Channel does better nature documentaries. Where'd they get that narrator; was if from Talk Soup on E! or from the Animal Planet ('I used my phone to videotape my dog acting neurotically') network?
David Attenborough might die early just so that he can roll over in his grave at this crap.

..and octopus don't have "tentacles". They have arms, eight arms.

Custom Motorcycle Builders

Fletch says...

Hey Discovery channel, stop bringing us the soap opera that is "American Chopper" and let us watch any of the builders portrayed in this video every week. Nothing the Tuttles have done even comes close to these amazing bikes.

Why Doesn't MTV Play Music Videos Anymore?

NicoleBee says...

Television is just a hole, generally. Not that I was ever their main market, but at least I could flip it on at three in the morning and catch some REALLY bad but amusing B-movie being run to fill time in their programming. Now they just put infomercials on in those time periods. On every station.

They used to play actual documentaries on the History Channel. Now it's usually something like "History's TOP TEN BIGGEST EXPLOSIONS" or Wrestling if I give it a go.

The success of mythbusters, dirty jobs and reality television was not kind to Discovery channels programming.

but this one is awesome for 2 reasons: 1) awesome content. 2) lack of idiotic scifi sound effects that discovery channel likes to add to such videos.
