Grenade Throwing Fail

BoneRemake says...

>> ^dannym3141:

Could people explain to a layman the significance of moving him into the other side of the trench? Is the point that "seems ok" is nowhere near as good as 5 feet of solid soil? Because i suppose i'd be part of the "seems ok, but i'd much rather be behind 5 feet of soil" camp. Confident people are acting like he'd have been 100% dead if he'd not been pulled down; i'd like to hear your expertise.

The pressure wave in the air would of killed him more then likely. Being that close to the explosion causes a difference in pressure and that can kill the human body. Concussion grenades work that way.

Yeah--I wish it was a cop with the pipe, that would have made it funnier...

Seriously though, the culture of these women, that they are immune to repercussions (Or concussions) is what the problem is. This is actually widespread, and knows no social class...pathetic...

"there's just so many ways to get killed" - yes wrap yourself in cotton wool and continue to watch your cable tv, stay safe people!

This is why you wear a god damn helmet!

poolcleaner says...

Do you raid without a helmet? Then don't skateboard without one.

Any time you're going this fast you should have a helmet. It also helps to lower your center of gravity so your body glides across the ground rather than slamming against it. Better to have a little road rash than a concussion -- or death. I have a pretty nasty scar from road rash but I've never hit my head. If you find yourself losing too much skin while longboarding, go get yourself a jacket made for absorbing the inevitable friction from sliding across the road.

This is why you wear a god damn helmet!

The guy @0:52 needs to tighten his trucks. That's his problem. But fucking hilarious especially when he screams out before hitting the grass.

These hit close to home for me. I've suffered a concussion and been knocked the fuck out by falling off my skateboard. All the head injuries explain a lot about me, huh?

Daddy's Evil Laugh Scares Baby

shagen454 says...

God damn people. You shouldn't even being having children in the first place, selfish, inconsiderate, world-hurting people!

Anyway, this video is hilarious and guess what? It's a BABY. After five minutes it was all forgotten. I only remember the most horrendous things my parents did to me (and what constitutes as horrendous as a child doesn't hold up in reality) I'm sure they laughed in my face, told me that Jack-o-lopes were real hundreds of times, fed me asparagus (which I LOVE now), and all sorts of horrible shit that probably made me cry but I don't remember it. But, I do have a nightmarish story from when I was 3 that I still remember. It may have certainly impacted who I was for a couple years (3,4,5) but nothing more.

I think the most abuse I got as a child was from a doctor. I fell (more like jumped, haha) from the top of bleachers when I was 3 (explains a lot, right) and suffered a severe concussion. I actually remember being pissed at my mom for paying more attention to my brothers baseball game than me, and I wanted to go up to the top of the bleachers. So I did. When I awoke my mom was standing in the corner and I was strapped down to this X-ray machine - it had leather straps that went across my neck, my stomach, my legs and my feet. I panicked and started moving around spastically and the doctor in his little control room started making those leather straps, tighter, tighter and tighter until I could not move at all. I remember it hurting, bad. This lasted 5 or 10 minutes, if my memory of it serves me well. After the straps untightened, I immediately hopped up on that very same table and started screaming "I hate you, I hate you, I hate you" towards my mom. I think my mom thought I was possessed, haha. I still think she should have done something, but I always feel more horrible about saying I hate you to my mom. I really, dislike the phrase "I hate you". It's just too much. But, anyway, that shit was cruel, but I doubt that incident had any sort of influence or factors in how I grew up, how my mind works or trust with my parents or doctors.

That is one of the few memories I have from my early childhood - the only other memories I have from that young an age was when an alien came into my room and freaked out climbed out of my crib but couldn't get the door open, my brother falling in two inches of water in the stream behind our house and he started crying profusely (even though I was 3 or 4 I started laughing at him) and the time my dad brought a RV home that had a sink in it. I remember being very fascinated by that. I'd suspect that something really needs to be strange or messed up for it to impact a baby, child or person in the long run.

The only trust issues I have are with women and that was not because of my mom but because of a she-devil.

Yeah, so make a big deal about a laugh, baby lovers! Just remember babies cry at everything, because they're fookin babies!

Death or dismemberment? Meh. (Death Talk Post)

Skeeve says...

I can't compete with you on the number of people I know who have been injured/died, but I do know one guy who has a similar hard luck story to your first one.

A Warrant Officer I used to work with was known as "Hard Luck Henderson" because he just couldn't get a break. While in Afghanistan, the LAV he was in was blown up. He survived with a concussion.

Shortly thereafter he was blown up again and received a concussion on top of his concussion.

A few weeks later, during a patrol through some fields of tall grass, he felt some pain in his foot and thought he had kicked something sharp. They get out of the grass and see that he has been bitten by a poisonous snake. So he gets flown to a hospital where the pump him full of anti-venom because they have no idea what kind of snake it was.

A few months later, at home in Canada, he is driving a truck down to an army exercise and he hits a coyote with his truck. This is normally not a big deal, but this coyote gets wrapped around the axle of the truck. Henderson gets out, begins to unwrap the coyote, and it bites him on the arm and wont let go. He had to strangle it with his bare hands.

So he gets to the exercise (where he has quite an important job to do) and refuses to see a doctor. The next morning his arm looks like a balloon so he is ordered to get it checked out and it is decided he needs to undergo the full rabies treatment (which is about as horrible as any medical treatment gets). He was alright in the end, but had one hell of a year.

Surprisingly, he's a pretty positive guy, hehe.

We're ban happy on the Sift and it sucks (Blog Entry by blankfist)

bobknight33 says...

The point I was making was not to make a raciest joke or remark but to point out the fact that when the average white American see such disgraceful behavior coming from young black Americans that thought does come to mind. I agree that it is sad to see that these thoughts still exist in America. I did not mean to utterly offend anyone and for that I am sorry.

Do to the history of of fathers and grandfathers, we all need to rise above actions that can be construed in a negative light. That kind of behavior shown in the video does not help the cause of the Black American. Conversely, A KKK rally also does a great injustice to Black Americans and sadly makes all whites appear to be racists.

I like this site. It sifts really good and really bad videos (depending on ones point of view). Then again isn't this what this site is about, different points of view?

As far as instaban or perm banning I think the insta - ban is a good thing. It allowed the community to discuss and come to a concusses. Kind a of a time out thing. It also allowed myself a chance to read your comments and reflect about them.

They ultimate ban / not ban decision belongs to the community.

whoa dude. what an incoherent and terrible comparison.
football and boxing are sports that require skill.
The goal is to be skillful. Not to concuss someone for laughs.
This prank is pointless, stupid and murderous - not to mention it requires no skill or thinking.
It's in no way funny to watch that guy's skull bounce off the concrete.
If you're gonna be a weirdo sadist. As least be upfront about it.

Sports and pranks. Both are society-induced entertainment meant simply to solicit a response (I.e., watch me! Or pay for me!) from people. So yeah, they can be compared. I think you used the generic--"They cannot be compared"--justification more for your own comment than anything else. That has become way too prevalent these days.

When in doubt, just say those words and the comparison-poster (me) seems like he/she has no clue what they are talking about.

You mention skills? What about skills makes a dumbass sport--like punching someone in the head until he cannot stand--any less dumbass? Chess has skill too, but I didn't compare that with pranks. Because that would have been a incoherent and terrible comparison. I compared VIOLENT sports to dipshit pranks.

Here is another comparison that works. This is not a smart ass comment--I am using this to prove a point by example. Apples to oranges. Both are foods, both are fruit, both have vitamins, both are good for you...

So, just because you cannot understand a comparison doesn't mean you're right.

Btw, I can understand your downvote if you can understand my point of view.

I can't believe it's not butter, fail.

whoa that bitch is evil.
Downvote for attempted manslaughter.

Well, considering he is just as equally bad in other areas, it is negligible.

And that aside, we can all say that this is what happens, it's a part of life that is natural to some. Stunts like Jackass made these public, and the camera gave the youtube user the ability to post his videos of people falling off roofs on other people, people donkey punching people in the nuts, and much more...

Stupid? Yes. But so is football and boxing--which leads to many concussions.

Speeding Car Slams Head On Into Cop

HadouKen24 says...

The cop is probably more or less okay. He'll be sore with some soft tissue damage. He'll probably need to see a chiropractor, and he might have an injury to his knees. That's assuming he had an airbag in the car--I think I heard the pop as it deployed. It'll be very painful, but probably not anything you can't recover from.

I'm more worried about the driver of the van. Vehicles these days do really well with front-end collisions, with various safety features in the car design, including impact cages and airbags that pop at greater or less speed based on the speed of the collision. Side-impact collisions are a lot more dangerous. Even if there are airbags, the geometry of the car just won't stand up as well. People hit like that tend to be a lot more likely to sustain serious injury. Probably the biggest risk, assuming the driver was wearing their seat belt, would be the driver's head striking the door window. She would have at least a concussion, possibly serious injuries to her left leg, and soft tissue damage up and down the right side of her body.

I'm a customer service associate for a major insurance company. My job is basically to take new claims from people who have been in accidents. The good news is that since I've started the job, I've learned just how safe our cars are these days. It's relatively rare even with highway accidents that people are seriously injured as long as we're talking about something like straight on damage or a collision at an angle. (A head-on collision is obviously going to be a lot more dangerous. Fortunately, the van did come in at an angle, so the cop car didn't take nearly as much force as it could have.)

Side-impact collisions are what send people to the hospital these days. Drive careful, folks!
