God does exist. Testimony from an ex-atheist:
Cool..I didn't know there was anything good about catholic school..you've opened my eyes![](https://videosift.com/vs5/emoticon/smile.gif)
>> ^BoneRemake:
promote because I have JESUS in my Heart, Jesus in my heart. This is for all the free pancakes I got when I went to catholic school. best memories I have are from the watered down orange drink and endless supply of pancakes. A Hearty meal a pancake is.

9 Reasons Why Youre a Christian
I am a christian, raised in a jewish neighborhood. so that's one false assumption in this video.
sure, christianity was the first religion i
was brainwashed inlearned about, but then, i went to a catholic school, so i'd be surprised if it wasn't.I'm not "to lazy or unintelligent to think for myself," and as such don't think all foreigners are "weird" and "going to hell." thanks for not jumping to conclusions about a whole demographic, guy.
and last of all, of COURSE the bible says christianity is true. what kind of holy book would it be if it itself said that it was lying?
does anyone really take this video as anything besides outright racism? seriously, when did videosift go from being open-mined about religion and atheism alike to just being outright anti-religion?
How often do you go to Church? (or similar holy place) (User Poll by gwiz665)
I went to catholic school from grade three to six. My fondest memories for that period where the pancake breakfasts... ALL YOU CAN EAT, just piles of pancakes and syrup.
The Most Intensely Horrible High School Girls' Hurdles Race
Low blow, dude.
>> ^EMPIRE:
it's a catholic school. no wonder stupidity is encouraged.
That's the internet for you.
>> ^Januari:
The irony is i'll bet they were better at it than about 90% of the people commenting or making fun of them.

Unedited Christine O'Donnell:What's the 1st Amendment Again?
>> ^lantern53:
She is correct. The amendment prohibits the establish of a religion, not the separation of church and state.
Congress shall make no law respecting AN establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof (Catholic school?)(federal/state schools means...); or abridging the freedom of speech , or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Re-read the bold part and post back when you know the answer.
Bo Burnham - "I went to Catholic School"
>> ^alien_concept:
Well considering you got there first and the other one is in the Top 15, this definitely needs a promote
Great, but which one counts as the second coming?
Awesome rap about the Catholic Church

Not in the US, at least in my experience. Religious schools here tend to want to cherrypick education so as not to conflict with the Bible. Remember, here the "elites" are portrayed as arrogant and un-American by the religious right. "Real Americans" have mediocre educations, love God and work a blue-collar job.
>> ^RedSky:
Aren't religious schools more likely to be snobbish/elitist private schools than are public schools of meeting those standards? That's certainly the case here and might help explain those numbers.
I don't know what religious schools you're talking about, but that is absolutely the opposite of how Catholic schools tend to be run.
That's exactly how my step-sister's Catholic school was run. That's also one of the reasons she was pulled out and sent to public school

Weird Al is a Grammar Troll
I tend to get annoyed by some glaring grammatical errors, but any time common usage has completely diverged from the "correct" form I figure it is time to just let it go, man.
Additionally, there are some correct forms that just bother me so I intentionally use the incorrect version. For example, I would never refer to Janet Reno and John Ashcroft as "attorneys general", and would similarly refuse to reply to someone asking to speak to me on the phone with "this is he". /shudder
So I guess I'm more of a grammar Catholic-school-nun than a grammar Nazi.

Christianity is a well-designed Chinese finger trap for the mind. As you get closer to proving your side of the argument and disproving something said in the Bible, they fall back on "the devil makes us question the Bible so I can never do that." Modern religions are built to resist competing ideologies, whereas old polytheistic beliefs were pretty simplistically presenting a theory of how the world works and how to survive in it. That's why it's futile trying to attack their core beliefs. It's like attacking a knight on his shield, it's the most defended target.
As ReverendTed said, the Bible doesn't directly contradict evolution. In my experience, it seems like a large percentage of Christians presently believe that god "set in motion" his creations via evolution, rather than making them directly from nothing, and that the Adam and Eve creation story is a parable. That's how I understood it, and I went to Catholic school for 12 years. The recent anti-evolution wave was more a cultural phenomenon than a religious one.
I think there's no point in proselytizing nonbelief. Defending your rights, ensuring your children get real education in school and not indoctrination--there's definitely a point to that, and that's when atheism is at its strongest. But going on the offensive against basic religious belief is counterproductive and creates more conflict.
M.C. Escher Interview
Fascinating interview! I'd never seen him either.
Art was pretty much the only bearable subject in school for me, too. I could dissent, rebel, criticize -- express myself through art, whereas with most other subjects, it was simply do this, do that, read this, write that, remember these things, repeat them, etc. etc... god, looking back now, I really hated Catholic school.
Who wants chowdah? (Kids Talk Post)
When I was in kindergarten I got sent out into the hall for shooting crayons at a classmate. The place where the teacher made me stand was right beneath the fire alarm. Now mind you I was in kindergarten, so I had very little reading skills at the time, so I didn't understands the words on the handle. Anyway, I figured it be some sort of handle that was just begging to be pulled, so I did so. Then all hell brook loose.
Everyone in the school had to be evacuated because of little old me. The fire department came out, and rapidly determined that it was my little hand behind the whole fiasco. I subsequently got spanked by a mean old nun (I went to Catholic school), and then got sent to the principal's office. The principal made me call home, and I was crying so bad that my mom could barely understand me. Anyway, she picked me up, with both of us fearing what my father would do after he found out.
Instead of getting a spanking or a slap from him, he just gave a stern look of disapproval, followed by rolling his eyes. That hurt worst than any spanking to me. I may have just been 5, but I could tell what a look of disappointment on my parents' faces was. And that is something I'll never forget.
