Avengers of Oz: Age of Tin Man
Finally an Avengers film i would watch.
Avengers of Oz: Age of Tin Man
How does one do an Avengers/Wizard of Oz crossover and not make the obvious tin/iron man connection?
The Avengers react to Justice League Trailer
Eh, I don't think the Avengers have much to worry about....
Light Rail Samurai Avenger
That really was too painful to watch. An avenger-wannabe who's looking for a chance to prove himself is how people die. I bet his mother is proud. I hope no one goes looking for him, now that he's been on the news.
Laws about large/concealed blades vary, state by state. I know his sword would have been illegal in CA if it were sharpened. Otherwise I think they're considered ornamental decorations.
Wow.... that is just painful to watch.... I feel bad upvoting it, but I just have to
Is it legal to carry a live blade around like that in the US? I remember reading a story about a guy getting arrested for having a knife on the subway....
Light Rail Samurai Avenger
I'm not sure which is worse...the idea that he's just a total nutjob walking around with a sword pretending he's a ronin, or the thought that he might actually be well trained and proficient with it and thinks he's Kairo: the light rail avenger.
Honest Trailers - Moana
I would like to see Disney's Princess Avengers, actually.....
Marvel's Iron Fist | Official Trailer [HD] | Netflix
It's always funny when something with a long comic history comes into the mainstream and everyone debates it like it's something new that only exists because of other shows that exist in recent pop culture.
The real question is: Why are the Defenders -- who are basically Dr. Strange's "Avengers" -- comprised of the 2000s Marvel Knights minus Moonknight?
Why not Moonknight instead of Iron Fist?
It's not as simple as "punch-em-up" versus the graphic novel, artsy Alias side of Marvel. The Netflix version of The Defenders is weird and I'm just hoping they tie in Cumberbatch (Dr. Strange) and the "Matrixesque" side of Marvel with what is the "Lovecraftian" side of Marvel. The Defenders are more this dark horror magick side who fought against the Nameless One and his legions.
I'm unclear is he a sighted Daredevil or a white Luke Cage?
Either way, is anyone else getting sick of the punch-em-up Marvel series they keep throwing out? I mean, I love Jessica Jones and I'm really excited about Legion (too early to tell after just one episode, but I think it could be awesome), but every time I tune in to one of these, I feel like I did watching Daredevil.
Ep1: Cool! Nice fight scenes.
Ep2: Hmm... still good, but felt a lot like Ep1
Ep10: Wait... didn't I watch this episode before?... I'm sure I remember that bit.
Grab US by the Pussy - Jan Böhmermann (Neo Magazin Royale)
Careful Jan, or you'll get sued again!
Erdogan might find a fellow Avenger.
The Marvel Symphonic Universe
I couldn't think of any, but then the "I've got no strings on me" from the Avengers trailer came to mind... but did they ever actual use that theme in the movie? It's strange that they'll use a fairly oddball re-imagining of a Pinocchio song for a trailer and then they score the movie quite so blandly.
The Marvel Symphonic Universe
The only music I remember from any Marvel movie is the soundtrack from Guardians and the excellent use of NIN's "We're in this together" from the first Avengers trailer.
*quality stuff from Tony as always. Every Frame a Painting is probably my single favourite youtube channel.
Earthling Cinema - Batman v Superman
Batman and Wonder Woman discuss whether they want to join the Avengers.
Louisville Woman Brought Into Courtroom Without Pants
Fair and reasonable judge?
That. And avenging and compassionate angel.
Zack Snyder Fundamenal Flaw(Batman v Superman) - Nerdwriter
I'm definitely not a film student (or a student of films). I'm not really savvy enough to confirm this guy's thesis about what Snyder is doing wrong.
But one part rang massively true for me -- when he talked about Avengers Age of Ultron and the farmhouse scene. Honestly, I didn't like Age of Ultron all that much, but that scene stuck out as a good one. From being a fan of Joss Whedon's TV shows, I think he is a master of making characters that we get invested in. We identify with them or see elements of friends / family / whatever in them, and that makes it much more rewarding to watch them do amazing (or even mundane) things.
That farmhouse scene in Age of Ultron was a really good example of that. And I didn't feel anything like that, at all, for any of the characters in Batman v Superman.
I don't know that Whedon's very character-centric approach is necessarily a whole lot better for creating extremely compelling storylines either, but I think it can cover a lot of blemishes in that department.
Legion Official Trailer #1
Agents of SHIELD had a somewhat weak start, though decent. Season 2 was an improvement on 1, and season 3 was excellent in my opinion. So far it doesn't connect too directly to what happens in the films, but does seem to be doing a lot of legwork to set up for one of the future movies. If you like super hero stuff in general, it's worth a watch.
Note that Legion won't have any connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Avengers, Dr Strange, SHIELD, Daredevil, etc), as it is part of the Fox / X-Men universe instead. I've no idea if Fox will tie it to their film franchise, though I'd assume it would be pretty minimal as this appears to be set in our current era vs the films right now being a few decades back.
