Daily Show Full Episodes Now Blocked in Australia and other Countries
It seems that the Comedy Channel in Australia has put pressure on Comedy Central to block Australians from viewing The Daily Show episodes online. I use StrongVPN, and simply flip the switch, but I'm sure most people will just go back to BitTorrent. I liked watching the full episodes on the Web because the quality is reasonably high and I'm not uploading anything as I am through BitTorrent. (uploads are a concern for many in Australia as we often pay for bandwidth in both directions)

If only they could have blocked Family Guy instead.
That is so damn dumb. I'm starting to see the occasional video blocked here in the USA, too. I don't see the rationale for it. Maybe they save a little bandwidth, but otherwise it just seems chintzy and short-sighted.
To me, one of the fundamental principles of the internet was to transcend borders.

TechCrunch reports that Hulu is now also blocking some proxies like HotSpot Shield, though not mine - just checked.

Hmm, Hulu still works with HotSpot for me. I only watch the clip snippets on the CC site of Daily Show/Colbert anyway, and they haven't blocked those for some unknown reason so meh.
