Apple Store Grand Opening - Chermside Brisbane
I crossed off bucket list item #37 and made it to an Apple Store grand opening. This is the first Apple Store in Brisbane, so is kind of a big deal. If I believed in heaven, I would want the pearly gates experience to run something like this - replace the people in the pastel tees with dead friends and family.

BTW I got my t-shirt for being one of the 1st 1,000. I was probably in the first 100.
"Wooooo! Consumerism is teh awesome!"
After taking this video, dag went inside and set all the Safari browser home pages on the floor models to videosift.com. And thus Steve Jobs became aware of the Sift.
I don't own a Mac, but can I join your cult? You all seem so happy in your t-shirts. I'm assuming they also served punch. Practice round.

^There definitely was a happy-clapper religious fervor about it all. "Cult of Mac" is not just a saying. It's hard not to get swept up in the artificial excitement. To rebel against all this, I've jailbroken my iPhone today. Stand back, I'm bad.
I find this type of behaviour intensely creepy on the part of the employees and the customers alike.
Fucking hell. If this was London I'd expect everyone to be grotesquely miserable - and rightfully so.
I walked by there last week and it perked my interest.
But then I remembered that Apple is a soulless company that doesn't give a dime to charity, feigns a sophisticated and suave culture of pretentiousness, and revels in general technological ignorance to satiate its mass market audience.
So I blissfully continued about my day.
Was there any "Caliimar!! Calimmar!!" type chanting?
