I found that when I have the opportunity to throw shit on the desktop i do...and then i get a cluttered mess. So I got rid of that ability forcing me to put shit in its place...

...its like getting rid of the junk drawer in your house. You know the one i'm talking about...it starts off with scissors and pens and then along come the batteries, the chip clips, maybe some coupons that you swear you'll use...

Mine is covered in junk both useful and temporary, the black squares in the background are the backs of open windows on virtual desktops of my 6-sided semi-transparent compiz "cube" which makes the icons semi-transparent as well. The screen in the center is firefox with this page open, semi-obscured with update manager.

It's hard to see but both the background and the theme have a faint diagonal pinstripe. Very minimal.
