hi there,
never heard of a name for it, though I'm not a specialist on German cuisine I can imagine that for having around a million recipes for "sauerkraut and potatoes" there is no special name other than what it consists of. It's definitely a popular side dish around here. Fits amazingly well with any kind of meat, i.e. salted pork leg, roast, steak, etc.

Greetings and salutations.

Something's been bugging me... I cook this dish which starts with onion and carraway seeds cooked in olive oil, then I add parboiled potato and coat with oil, then cover with sauerkraut and cook on the back burner on low heat until the rest of my meal is done. Actually that part doesn't bug me at all, it's extremely yummy : What does bug me though is not knowing whether this is a German dish, whether it's all or only part of Germany, and what it's called. Photos for reference:

How hypocritical of @<a rel="nofollow" href="http://videosift.com/member/shinyblurry" title="member since January 21st, 2011" class="profilelink">shinyblurry to accuse someone else of having a "heart filled with poison". The ridiculous, hateful and archaic dogma of sin and judgement that you subscribe to is an immoral poison to the modern world, giving rise to absurd and damaging situations like the religious exception to this law.
Equating homosexuals with paedophiles is a cowardly trick of misdirection and a false analogy. They are not the same, and you know it - a consenting homosexual couple harms no-one at all, whereas a paedophile who molests a child causing emotional damage that ripples out into the child's later life and relationships. Your argument is empty.

Maaan. I wanted to do that :

The current size of the playlist definitely is a plus, and I think to serve the purpose of that idea it should remain this way. But to provide me and others with these gems, even if they are already sifted, you could make some more playlists

In reply to this comment by oritteropo:
Thanks :

Do you think I should keep it about the same size (about 30 vids) or expand it? My original thought was to keep it to that size, and only add new ones as the old ones get sifted and removed.

I wasn't aware of the explanation on the website while posting my first comment. The first part of my second comment covers that. The second part was to explain what I meant with "vertical forces applied to the ballcamera".
Sorry for the confusion.
Neat concept though, I'd like a bunch of these to create "panorama maps".

In reply to this comment by rychan:
There's no freely movable parts inside the camera. The website makes it pretty clear:
"Our camera contains an accelerometer which we use to measure launch acceleration. Integration lets us predict rise time to the highest point, where we trigger the exposure."

So while your original post implies that it somehow detects the top of the trajectory as it happens, in fact the camera measures launch acceleration to predict the length of time until the top of the trajectory.

^ I think it will take a photo everytime it stands still after being accelerated upwards. Using the fact that there will be no vertical forces applied to the "ballcamera" the moment it reaches maximum height after a throw.
engineering

Actually, no. The acceleration on the ball is roughly constant through the entire trajectory. So it's somewhat tricky to estimate when you're at the top of the parabola.

They seem to use an accelerometer to predict the time of max height as seen on
their website.
I wasn't referring to the acceleration rather to the forces, being applied while thrown, to a possible freely movable object inside of the camera, using the same principle as the seatbelt mechanism.
My train of thought leaves in a couple of minutes.

Oh disturbing numbers, what have you done?
I never use these points when I am doing Math in private (dark room, candles, lubricant - no questions)
but for the sake of readability I inserted them without even thinking about points and commas, what the dead rabbit explained is absolutely right nonetheless.

Fun fact: If we say decimal numbers in German we go "one comma five" (Eins Komma Fünf) for "1.5" instead of "one point five". So your "decimal point" is exactly equal to our "Komma".

I have an American/UK studies question for you, if you have a minute to spare.

In the Patriotic-Millionaires-TAX-ME video, your countryman luxury_pie put in a comment using the period as a thousands separator and the comma as the decimal radix... which I would expect as I have always been taught that much of continental Europe uses this convention. Then in later discussion an Englishman who has traveled widely in continental Europe and lived in Spain pointed out that in his travels, he has never seen this.

So, my question is how widely is each convention used in Germany in the parts an English speaking visitor would encounter? Should he have come across the period thousands separator and/or the comma decimal radix at all? Road signs? Menus?

The on-line (American!!!!) information just says that in Germany this is how it is, and never says "oh, but in shops the price might use a period".
