Government creates inflation

newtboy says...

To my “the fool”-
Again you lie. Point to when I ever said that you fucktard. I have ALWAYS said deficit matters, so does intelligent spending, so does overall debt, so does our national credit rating. All went to shit faster than ever before or since under your dementia riddled crime boss.

Your brain is mush. You just make up nonsense constantly, then contradict yourself.
It was you who said for 4 years that deficits don’t matter while your idiot ran up the deficit and debt faster than ever before and I shouted daily that he was bankrupting the nation and not getting anything for it, at least Biden invested his spending in America, didn’t waste it on useless trade wars, tax breaks for the ultra rich (that didn’t trickle down or stimulate the economy) and PPP handout loans to business “owners” (that didn’t have to be repaid and were ripe with fraud because there were no standards, no vetting, because it was in fact designed to be easy to defraud and was the most fraudulent assistance program in history) and other ego driven stupidity that gained nothing, all this at America’s expense with no benifits.

I have never once said anything nearly so stupid. You have often. Let me ask (for you to ignore the question because you hate the answer)…who had the last balanced budget…who last paid down the debt? Hint- it rhymes with Minton. Which party presided over the last 3 major recessions? Hint- they all wear red ties.

You denied spending mattered when it was out of control under maga leadership, you have absolutely not been saying this all along you liar. When I said starting in early 2020 that Trump’s out of control spending spree and crashed economy in 2020 would result in high inflation… you denied it was related, then blamed Biden when the predicted inflation spike hit.

Government needs to spend wisely, not for ego and spite like Trump spent. Biden spent a lot, but it revived the economy much faster than any other Western nation after Covid and improved GDP significantly….after Trump’s Covid response was the worst in any Western nation by far making killing Americans at 5 times the percapita average worldwide and turning our GDP to a negative for the first time in history in peace time.

The Republicans have blocked a balanced budget for decades, but we do have a budget, moron. Their obstruction, trying to shut down the government out of spite has lowered our credit rating costing billions or trillions for absolutely no gains.

Maga would prefer no government at all and is actively working against the government functioning, but these idiots can’t see past their “freedom” (freedom to be horrifically evil, racist, uncivil, and inhumane) to understand that we would become Russia or China in a week, and their little home protection guns and fake “militia” clubs won’t kill a single soldier in the invasion.

Still waiting you ballless wonder. Such a whining little cowardly infant…DJ really turned you into a petty, uneducated, idiotic pansy boy. Must be all that fantasizing about sucking the mushroom tip. It’s hilarious your insecurity forces you to keep displaying your insecurity publicly, incapable of admitting you’ve ever been w-w-w-wrong (despite your never actually being right, especially when it comes to speaking English) because you’re so insecure you are certain that if you admitted you made a mistake no one will love you. 😂

Your the fool that keeps saying deficit does not matter.
Now you want to claim otherwise. Funny.

I've been saying this all along.

Government need a budget not CRs.

This non budget has been going on for nearly 20 years.

Wojahn faced 56 total counts relating to child pornography. 40 of those counts relate to the possession of child exploitative material. The remaining 16 counts are related to the distribution of those materials.

D’oh.
New reports indicate more ACTUAL censorship by the disgraced ex president, this time calls from the White House to Disney execs demanding they severely reprimand or fire Kimmel for telling Trump jokes.
And
In 2017 he had his fcc commissioner Oje Pie directly threaten to investigate Colbert over Trump jokes he made on his show.

Since you pretended to be concerned over your misinterpretation of the Twitter files, you MUST be outraged at ACTUAL government censorship, right? Why not?

we don't know the details, yet. but seeing how this comes along with the Pelosi attack, it does make one wonder. what if? that, this and after Jan 6 - it'd make anyone gun-shy (wingnut-wise)

also, would contend that it makes little sense to start the comment w/logic and reason (am w/ya on 'let's wait') but then follow with phAWK noo-ze 🦜 nonsense...

Tangentially, makes a person wonder 'bout Lake's stability. as a newscaster, one would think she'd be interested in some level of journalistic integrity. if she is unable to discern fact from folly - she wasn't trustworthy at her former job. so why trust her a governorship?!! she's more of an actor than a producer.

Irish Politician Mick Wallace on the United States

noims says...

There are a couple of Irish EU Parliamentarians that act the wise fool - the court jester that is allowed to speak truth to power in the guise of eccentricity.

It's similar to the way the best real American commentaries on politics come from comedians, because the information comes packaged in entertainment, rather than much of the press who are forced to pick one or the other.

not always fun to see such a self-own. mainly, because none of his hyena pack knew any difference.

so guess that makes bob a fool's fool.

Will Smith smacks Chris Rock on stage at Oscars Uncensored

cloudballoon says...

I'm not particularly concerned what immediately happened to the slap at the Oscars. The confusion around whether it was scripted or not is understandable. And there were, are, and will have plenty of over-entitled actors/actresses acting irresponsible to the 90% of us (or maybe 50% of us, while the other 40% is just "signaling") at the Oscars, always.

Could Jada have stopped Will just by saying "it's not worth it?" Would this whole scandal happened if she didn't do the side-eyes that Will saw AFTER he laughed at the joke?
Is she partly to blame (of course not)? Who knows what headspace Will was at? It's Hollywood - where 99% of the people live 2, 3, 4 different lives behind & in front of the cameras. Not wise to judge anyone at that moment.

But what happened AFTER is more interesting. The lack of apology directly to Rock and the non-sense justification of his acceptance speech. Will & co partying the night away. Those speaks volumes to what one can make of his speech and tears.

One thing's for sure, as newtboy wrote, Smith just handed white supremacists the biggest gift one person possibly could.

Well youve had 80 years to get something done, Vijay, instead of whining. India is not doing so badly so it should be able to take care of its children if it can get its act together. You cant even get rid of the caste system. Literally discrimination by color.

Most of the world is run by corrupt dictators, one can keep building schools and sending humanitarian help but ultimately local politics and local institutions are an insurmountable obstacle to progress.

You can use the money (that you scorn) wisely to skip technologies that are known to be a dead end. Pecunia non olet.

Kyle Rittenhouse Trial Week 1 Summary

StukaFox says...

Bob,

"as else mentioned" Evidence wise though, it looks like self defense, after breaking many laws and putting himself in harms way, is still factually part of the night."

This is completely correct; however, it is not a viable defense. You cannot go "looking for trouble" (trust me, I know this one).

Here's a link to a counter-argument, out of fairness sake:

https://www.ojp.gov/ncjrs/virtual-library/abstracts/looking-trouble-framing-and-dignitary-interest-law-self-defense

This part is what will send Baby Rambo to Fed for the next billion years:

"This means that any lawful intent or behavior that may have contributed to the confrontation should not be used to undermine the claim of self-defense."

Please note the "lawful intent or behavior" part. Everything Rittenhouse did was illegal up until the point when he went postal on innocent, if rowdy, protestors. The prosecution is going to nail him to the cross and he won't be coming back in three days.

Absolutely not, IMO.
It’s not self defense if you hunt your victim, he did.
It’s not self defense if the people you shoot were not armed. You can’t use a gun in defense from a fist. He did.

It’s not self defense if you hear a pop (no shot was fired AT Rittenhouse, if the defense is to be believed, someone else shot into the air to get the gun toting aggressor to leave and stop threatening everyone with death). Rittenhouse had no idea if he heard a gun, firecracker, or plastic bag being popped.

Kyle Rittenhouse Trial Week 1 Summary

bcglorf says...

All true, and all things he hopefully is being tried for and will be found guilty of.

If you look at the nytimes breakdown of the video evidence though, it looks very possible his self defense argument gets him off of murder charges: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/27/us/kyle-rittenhouse-kenosha-shooting-video.html

In the first shooting, they document some one else(not rittenhouse) firing a handgun before Rittenhouse fires. As that first shot is fired, someone lunges towards Rittenhouse, who then fires at them.

Now, everything you've pointed out already makes Rittenhouse guilty of putting himself in a bad situation, and already having broken multiple laws. Still, under the circumstances, you have entire crowds of folks all breaking curfew, at least one other random person in the area firing a handgun, and someone lunging at an armed Rittenhouse.

There's a lot of terrible, stupid things all going on at once here. Evidence wise though, it looks like self defense, after breaking many laws and putting himself in harms way, is still factually part of the night.

I hope he gets a lot of jail time for all the laws he did break, but am not holding my breath on an impartial jury rejecting the self defense angle base on the nytimes footage,

JiggaJonson said:

He illegally owned a gun, and was doing some vigilante justice (also illegal), and was out as a 17 year old in Wisconsin past curfew

"No minor under the age of seventeen years shall be or remain in or upon any of the streets, alleys, other public places, or any private place held open to the public in the county between twelve o'clock midnight and five a.m., unless accompanied by a parent"

Then he killed several people by shooting them with an assault rifle.

NYC's Anti-Vax Rally in 49 Seconds

maybe.

ever see "swing blade"? the main character was undoubtedly very bright but was taught in a very poor school (i.e. alone, abused, and alienated). very little knowledge.

an extreme example but anyone can be intelligent 'tho trapped by their environment. lacking knowledge.

it's kinda like that show on Netflix. the local head of the kkk being exposed to the words and life of that black women. he learned - was shown - that his way wasn't the path he wanted to be on. he wised up.

knowledge leads to higher intelligence. he had the intelligence but lacked any reason to change his views (the Tao of Intolerance). intelligent but terribly influenced.

so these folks might have the ability to learn and adapt, but not the velleity.

intelligence is the ability to acquire knowledge, but w/o some basic knowledge, that intelligence can be retard.

that's me. standing up for an ax* murder, a klansman, and goofy GOPers.

how bright am i?

* not an ax really. it was a swing blade but i like to call them a kaiser blade.

newtboy said:

Sorry, but you and @luxintenebris are confusing intelligence with knowledge. IQ measures your problem solving skills and ability to learn and adapt that new knowledge to new and different situations, it does not just test your knowledge in certain areas.

It's the difference between being shown how to do a task VS being able to figure out how to do a task on your own.

Use of force incident at Walmart in East Syracuse NY

newtboy says...

When someone tries to bite you, you or they can absolutely slug them. Self defense is a legitimate defense. His taser was holstered and his help wasn't helping. Once she tried to do him physical harm, she invited them to do harm to her....proportional harm, which I think one punch definitely is, a human bite is incredibly dangerous. I think he'll be fine job wise, but harrassed publicly for hitting a woman because sexism.

I think the female might be in the most danger of reprimand if not firing. She not only didn't help either male, both having obvious serious trouble controlling their arrestees, but saw they also had trouble with the hostile crowd and instead of shielding them from it she hid behind them.

Mordhaus said:

Well, the one cop is going to lose his job. I can understand his frustration, but even if someone is biting you, you can't just slug them. Not when you have a Taser and help.

I do have to wonder why the female cop is not helping. Both guys could have used some help to keep the crowd back at least. The closest I saw he trying to help was when the one lady was biting the guy. As soon as he swung, she raised her hands and was like "Nope, not losing my job or freedom."

McConnell Threatens Scorched Earth GOP Attacks Voting Rights

Mordhaus says...

Harry Reid nuked the filibuster to approve Federal level justices. McConnell just exploited what the former Majority Leader did.

When under pressure from Republicans and Trump in the first two years of Trump's term to do away with the filibuster and allow the all-Republican government to do what the all Democratic one is hoping to do now, McConnell wisely chose not to.

Whether you care for McConnell or not, or if you care for the minority party or not, doing away with the filibuster to allow the party currently in charge to ram legislation through is only going to set precedent for the same thing to happen when the situation changes.

Democrats may think that forcing through HR1 will mean that the Republicans will never control the government again, but that is not going to happen. Americans are fickle and turn on the government in power at the drop of a hat. Case in point, Trump should have never won a term as President in a normal world. People hated Hillary so much that he did.

Turning the Senate into a smaller House of Representatives relying simply on a majority vote for everything would create situations where either side will ram through sweeping changes (or erase those of the previous side) every 4 years or so. What will we do in 2024 if somehow Trump or his lackeys get elected and he has access to a fully Republican senate, congress, and scotus, with no filibuster unlike 2016-2018?
