Zeppelin Cover-Ween-All of My Love
>> ^Ryjkyj:
Saw them in Bend, OR last month. Even after the crazy shit in Vancouver they still play a kick-ass show.
I haven't seen them in a while but I've been to so many shows in the 90s & 00s that I've lost count. This one's from their Live in Chicago DVD of 2004 and it's nice to see Claude (the drummer) banging it out like nothing happened. He was in a HUGE car wreck in 2002 and he almost died, poor bugger.

Hey person (that's the new non gender specific internet greeting the kids are using these days) Been admiring your boognish for a while. It drunkenly occoured to me that one of the main reasons i love ween is their ability to create an amazing imaginary world and transport you to it through song. Realised another band that can do that is mercury rev. I can only vouch for desterters songs and all is dream but those two are great enough

Ween Live - Ocean Man - from Spongebob Squarepants Movie
>> ^acidSpine:
The main riff is played on a mandolin and the song's from The Mollusk (your title suggests it was written for the movie which I don't think it was)
OK cool, didnt now that. I like it.

This one runs a bit slower than the link above, making the pitch slightly different but I'm not sure that should count.
They Might Be Giants covers the worst song of the 90s
>> ^oritteropo:
Surely Ween's "Push th' Little Daisies" was the worst song from the 90s? Maybe this was the 2nd worst?
At least in the US, "Push th' Little Daisies" gets a break because, upon hearing it, everyone promptly recognized how horrible it was and never played it again.
"Tubthumping", on the other hand, enjoyed regular airtime for what seemed like an eternity and was touted by every drunken ass-clown in the country as a great song.
What always struck me about Chumbawamba was that they've got like 15 fucking members and, evidently, none of them can write a song. I'd expect better odds than that if I were just picking random people off the street.

The comment only has
onetwo downvotes so far. I'll be checking my car carefully for devices before getting in though, avoiding dark alleys, and keeping my curtains drawnFunny thing is that the Ween fans I know don't actually defend that song terribly much.
You should sift that, and start a worst of the 90s playlist. I'm only slightly concerned that I'll own all of them on cd already (I was just pleased the 80s was over).

oritteropo, Ween fans are particularly passionate. You're in dangerous territory. Personally, if anything challenges Tubthumping, I think this song could be the worst of the 90s: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7290489683539680492

First look at Windows 8 - very interesting

Neat enough.
I'm probably a freak but in my ripe old age of 38, I feel like my brain hasn't really evolved much beyond what Windows XP offers. I'm sure children weened on game controllers with dual joysticks and a trillion buttons will have brains hardwired to enjoy these operating systems that seem to encourage not actually concentrating on one thing at a time but just watching all the task switching in this video made me physically nauseated.
Could have been the veggie dogs I just ate though.
I guess the "bigger" point I'm trying to make is that it seems like perhaps we've reached the point where the user interface is beginning to mold the way our brains work rather than our brains molding the UI.
Society is being dumbed down. Meaning, newer OS are easier to use than older ones. New features? A quick 5 minute tour once you get your new software installed. It's really not a big commitment, but it's well worth it IMO
