Major Scaled #2 : REM - "Recovering My Religion"
Wow ... so much less haunting than the original. Almost, dare I type, UPbeat. I like it too. The original tune would be on my desert island list.

Wonder if a video of me checking my balls to a upbeat tune would get sifted.
Post and let's find out

I would quality and double promote that in a heart beat.

Santigold (Live at Coachella, 2012)
Personally I think her slower, mre bassy songs sound a lot better than the fast, high note & upbeat songs. The dark, mysterious, funky sound is what makes santigold stand out I think lol
Man of Steel - Teaser Trailer
Aww I was hoping they did a spin off of Superman where he became a crab fisher and Mike Rowe voiced over his adventures. And then he later went on to be an ice road trucker and cheated using his super powers.
I said that jokingly, but you know......we mere humans could understand that crap. Sure he could still save people and be all heroic, but journalism is the opposite of interesting. Got some dude who can bench press cars and he's writing articles instead of doing the work of 10 guys labor in a day in one hour and running around rescuing people the rest of the day.
He could be both the common man (manual labor) and a super hero.
I always liked when Superman was not all super-positive....when he was getting into fights in restaurants and stuff. I mean your life as a secret super hero would be pretty damn stressful, and being continually upbeat is annoying.
Homeless Man Interviewing Homeless Newbie
That man sounds exactly like Henry Phillips, only more upbeat.
Johann Strauss (Sohn) - Perpetuum Mobile - op. 257
Delightfully upbeat and snappy ... really gets the juices flowing without the crash from artificial stimulants =o)
Vampire Weekend Vs MIA - A Punk/Paper Planes

What's up?
I really like MIA, she's one of my favorite artists, I used to listen to Kala nearly every day on the way home from work on the train, and this is probably the best song on the album (imo). It just doesn't seem to blend well with the 'springy' upbeat nature of Vampire Weekend because, for me, MIA is gritty and tries to get across a message and this is hard to listen for when you have their persistent rock beat going on. It kind of leaves no time to reflect on what Paper Planes message is - if that makes sense.
Still upvoted because the mix is well done, and of course MIA rules
Ahh, gotcha. I kinda like it when the tone of the song completely changes though

Quadcopter Chill Out.
The music is interesting... better than some of the stuff I've randomly heard. Not too loud, just enough upbeat to keep a good rhythm going.
New drug kills fat cells
The 'terminally ill' do still qualify for small and large clinical trials, but the severity and complication of their illness will effect their acceptance to a study group. The best study subjects are going to be young, otherwise healthy individuals with a supportive family, close proximity to the research hospital, and a upbeat attitude in the face of the challenges ahead!
Here's a decent read about clinical trials in general: http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/info/understand
You might be interested in the 'Phases' part, describing the size of participant pools. You might also be interested in seeing some of the recently approved devices/procedures (they include scans of the letters sent out, which I always find interesting): http://www.fda.gov/MedicalDevices/ProductsandMedicalProcedures/DeviceApprovalsandClearances/Recently-ApprovedDevices/ucm241143.htm
One last thing to note; you can follow products funded by the government (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/sbir.htm for instance) as they progress by digging through the interwebs. Private companies can get a peak at their publicly funded competition sometimes, which,... well, is actually usually not as useful as you'd think.

Common sense would dictate that drug companies be allowed to offer deals to terminally ill patients, perhaps in exchange for paying for their care. But the FDA is there to make sure common sense is kept locked away.
You Are My Sunshine--Johnny Cash
Touching...
Sad - not what I expected at all.
I've always heard this as an upbeat song - never really gave the lyrics much thought.
Naming Your Child | David Mitchell's Soapbox
I work with a guy named Thor and he's a badass that definitely lived up to his name. Thanks for this bit of conformist nonsense, David. The actual problem with Western names is that most of them originate from the Bible. Which to me speaks more about the intelligence of the parents than a so-called "unique" name. How on earth is Sunshine a "unique" name? It's purposeful, it's upbeat, and without it there would be no life on this planet. I'd rather be named after something that does our world some good than some asshole King of the Israelites.

You know, you used to be a lot more upbeat than this.

The dregs of humankind should be forced to watch these each year before they cost society any more than they already have.
