Looks like there is no refueling going on though.
Seemed like "just" a fast tire change, maybe due to a change in weather.
Usually all planned stops are used to refuel as well.

If I recall it correctly one of those pressurized fuel hoses in the F1 pumps fuel at 16 litres a second (thats 4.2 Gallons for you imperial folks)

Besides doing these tire changes, and refueling, and changing broken parts if needed, what does the pit crew do off-race?

Never worked in either a tire change shop, or apprenticed as a mechanic huh? So back in my mid teens I was working in one, we had this retread come in. This was back before the government mandated that all 2nd retreads had to be tubed. While the air was going into the tire, the retread blew and took the machine out. Well there went $18k. We found chunks of aluminum from the machine in the concrete walls of the shop. We were lucky no one was seriously injured or killed, but shit like that does happen from time to time.

A car tire can blow out your eardrum, a truck tire can take out chunks of your arm if you're unlucky, it will break it easily enough. Hell, I've had a truck tire blow out the side window in my car from the air pressure on the highway when they went.

The rules for this should have required at least a token check of the inner surface of the tire. Unless you know you got snakebit (puncture caused by hitting a curb with underinflated tires), changing a flat without inspecting the inner surface is a waste of time and tubes.

There should also be a patch kit time trial. I can do it in under 10 mins in real conditions, and I'm sure others can do it in under 5.>> ^Tojja:
