this sounds fascinating "pre-colombian psychoacoustical whistling vessels". What is it?

^hey Renato ~ I grew up as a missionary's daughter in Campinas, S.P. Brasil! (am agnostic now, for the record) Hope to go back to south america some day. As an MK, from the ages of 8-16 my family ran an orphanage, a Baptist seminary, and my Dad flew a Cessna back and forth into Matto Grosso and Minas Gerais "preaching to the indians". (I went w/ him a few times) I went to EAC, then when we returned to the U.S. I hopped around from Michigan, Texas, Alabama in high school.
I had two beautiful kids during my brief stint (4 years) as the wife of an abusive dude who happened to be in the U.S. Marine Corps. (So I know what military family life is like, big time.)
Upon getting out of that mess, I served as the live-in caretaker to a disabled retired psychotherapist. That lasted about 4 years, and was quite an interesting experience which I will not elaborate on here...suffice it to say that I ended up moving to Silver City, NM with said person and meeting the man of my dreams less than a year upon arriving. I have started and stopped my college education more times than I can count along the way, and still haven't finished! (Was headed for medical school!)
With that, I am currently homeschooling my son, helping my hubby with his business (link on my profile page) making reproductions of pre-colombian psychoacoustical whistling vessels, sewing/designing clothes (which is my passion), gardening, and hanging out on the sift!
You are all awesome, and I enjoy your comments!

Philosophical/Hypothetical Question... (Blog Entry by laura)

rougy says...

Well, I trust you folks in Silver City know how to hide firearms like we do down here in Roswell.

Since we have that base covered, they are probably passive-aggressive and just hoping you'd say something about how fat they were (too easy) or rejoice in the fact that you didn't turn the blankets down at the opportune time like great-great-aunt Gertie.

I think they kind of want you to tell them off, in the loving but frankful way a matron would do.

Actually, they probably want to bitch a little bit, and have someone beautiful there who cares enough to listen.

They want more attention.

I think Silver City is what Santa Fe apparently used to be like. Only, Silver isn't close enough to anything for it to ever get "big".
(Can you tell it's a bitterly cold day out there and that I'm stuck in the house keeping from getting bored and drinking entirely too much coffee? I thought so.)

Bidi, Bidi, Bidi, YES! YES! YES! Actually, here in Sliver City, er... Silver City, NM, cigarettes containing Clove are NOT legal. Some residents actually resort to hiding their clove Bidis in their Indica/Sativa stash to fool the Herb Police (O.K., just kidding about the "Herb Police").

Are you Insane? This is Hitler's Car!

I love this movie! This scene especially.
I only watched it in the first place because in the movie they are headed to the most remote town the movie makers could think of, Silver City, which is where I actually live. The Silver City in the movie, however, is not actually the "real deal"...wasn't filmed here at all!

New Mexico - The best place in the Universe...

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

I agree with snowman- New Mexico is beautiful. I especially like the Organ Mountains - Silver City and other little artsy towns that are scattered around. Taos is way too commercial.
