It's the usual stale "pop culture as thesis" bullshit that you get from Tarantino, Cracked After Hours, and a million other sources.

I'll admit I more based it on the older games in the series as I didn't play much of Absolution. The trailer was certainly sexualised but it hardly depicts women in some kind of subjugated or helpless role (yes, they die but that's not the point). I'd compare it to something you would see in a Tarantino movie. It was the comments she made about it (she referred to a section where apparently you're incentivised to kill hookers, which is not true).

His "style" is to take elements of existing movies and genres and putting them together to what I'll call generously "homages" to the originals. Tarantino is a remixer, taking samples and putting them together into a new song. Sounds familiar but is somewhat new.
He is very, very good at that and can write interesting dialogue (the first half of Death Proof was nothing but). He also starts to believe his own hype (as seen in Django Unchained, a good but way too mastubatory in nature film) and risks to develop the same relationship to Christoph Waltz (a very good, distinctive and interesting actor) that Tim Burton has with Johnny Depp.
I love pretty much all his movies but he certainly has to watch out that he doesn't trip over his own ego and reputation, both bigger than good for him.

Has she had any German-speaking roles as an actress?

I've always felt The Matrix was not actually a trilogy. Reloaded and Revolutions are really just one long movie chopped in half, like KILL BILL. For the record I love Tarantino but prefer the Matrix sequels to KILL BILL.

The trilogy doesn't have a real middle chapter... the meat of the sandwich. Over the years I've kind of come to think of Animatrix as the true middle sequel to The Matrix trilogy. Considering events in Final Flight Of The Osiris lead directly to the sequel movies, I suppose that's not much of an insight.

Sometimes a 3rd grader can be more creative than an adult due to less learned constraints. Art is most often creating from, and being inspired by others work... so he's doing it right. His movies are very identifiable as Tarantino movies, so he's obviously bringing something to the table.
