Cupsouls - 64 bits

Cupsouls - 64 bits

cloudballoon says...

Awesome animation. Cuphead was developed by a Canadian company so if available on Android with good controls I'd support by buying the game. Whether I can finish the game is another thing though. I hate virtual D-pad on tablets...

Guy reviews his office's terrible new "smart" water cooler

ChaosEngine says...

I hate crap touchscreens. Haven't really had a problem with them on dedicated devices like phones, tablets, etc.

I do think putting a touchscreen in something like a car is borderline irresponsible. There's some promising work being done with haptic touchscreens, but it's early days yet. https://www.cnet.com/news/tanvas-reunites-touch-with-feel-using-refined-haptic-feedback-ces-2017/

But there's really no substitute for a dedicated control surface.

Does anybody else LOATHE touchscreens? I mean, I grudgingly accept them on smart phones but most of the time they are just shit.

Steve Jobs Foretold the Downfall of Apple!

ChaosEngine says...

I don't agree that this statement is relevant to Apple.

Jobs is arguing that when you have a monopoly, your product people take a back seat to your sales/marketing guys. Fair enough, but that assumes Apple have a monopoly.
Far from it, they have:
- 13% of the smartphone market
- 24% of the tablet market (and that market is in decline)
- and a whopping 4% of the desktop market

How on any planet is that even close to a monopoly?

Don't get me wrong, I think Apple are in a bit of a creative slump at the moment. They desperately need new design blood.

Rhino Rules The Road

lucky760 says...

The aspect ratio of the video is wonky, and the "smart" sizing doesn't know how tall it should make the viewport.

It's an edge case and the video player is too dumb to know to keep the control bar in the viewport, so it allows it to go out of the bottom of the frame where you can't touch it. If you right-click you can select pause and mute. I wonder if you long-hold on a tablet it'll give you those options.

eric3579 said:

Oh wow i see if you use the new sift design it starts muted and there is no option to turn on the music In the old sift design(which i use ) you can turn sound onhttp://imgur.com/a/8Bl1t. You can Opt out of the new design at the very bottom of the page or try this https://videosift.com/video/Rhino-Rules-The-Road?vs6=optout.

When i try it on an ipad it starts with sound and has no option to mute. Weird.

"One word says it all. Asian"

On my tablet, each individual we rented an airbnb from in Iceland automatically had their chosen profile picture attached to each email, and many were landscape or building photos, so this part at least is not so odd. I'm just guessing it works the same on cell phones, I don't have one.

It is ironic that a civil liberties counselor had this happen, but that's probably why it gained attention. This kind of thing happens daily, but usually not so blatantly or with such a clear 'paper trail' of emails. It still could be fake, but anyone with 1/2 a brain would know that faking something like this will be exposed quickly and ruin their future, so I hope it's not.

A comment from Youtube:
"So, this horrible and blatant act of racism happened to occur to a former ACLU civil liberties counselor who majored in Critical Race Studies -- described as a major aimed at "naming one's own reality" by "using narrative to illuminate and explore experiences of racial oppression." Isn't it ironic and unfortunate that this would happen to her of all people?

What's also a little ironic is that Ms. Suh not only received these texts from a "Tami," but also happens to have a Facebook friend named "Tami" who posts on Facebook about "Tiny House Listings" -- a house rental service.

Speaking of which, it's kind of interesting that Tami showed up as "Tami" on Ms. Suh's phone, rather than as a phone number, isn't it? And there's a photo for Tami too. That means Tami is saved as a contact. It's a little odd for some random Airbnb host that Ms. Suh never met in-person to be a contact with a photo on her phone, isn't it?

Interestingly, if you look at Facebook-friend "Tami's" photos, they're all sort of artistic, colorful photos of inanimate objects -- just like Tami's photo in the texts.

If I didn't know better, I would almost, almost think that this stilted, formal, perfect little racist exchange between house-renter Tami and critical race studies major Ms. Suh, and the passionately tearful speech in the rain that followed -- why was she making speeches in the rain anyway? -- was, in fact, a carefully constructed "narrative" that Ms. Suh conspired to create with her Facebook-friend Tami.

But hey, that couldn't be right, could it?"

Hmmmm...

Hey gwiz. Is there any way to transfer your Subway Surfers progress from one Android tablet to another? All signs point to no (aside from options requiring rooting), so I thought I'd give you a try as my sons' last hope to carry their stuff over to the new tablets they got for xmas.

Dr. Gupta thinks denying Medicinal Marijuana is Immoral

poolcleaner says...

My migraines aren't in remission but I don't suffer nearly as long as I used to since using light psychoactive CBD/THC. Duration of intense pain, loss of vision, loss of feeling in limbs, nausea, vomiting, and the rare seizure has been reduced from 6-12 hours every 2-4 weeks to maybe 2 hours every couple months, sometimes only with nausea, loss of vision, and minor or no pain.

However, the loss of vision, or what my doctors have referred to as visual "premonitions" are still a major pain that I'm not certain will ever go away. Luckily I don't get very many migraines any more. However, if I do get a migraine I still cannot drive or do anything that requires sight. Although I can technically see, it's severely impaired.

The absence or dulling of the pain during a migraine is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me medically. I had a migraine 2 days ago while I was jogging at the park, ran to my car so I could quickly get home before my vision was fucked, and then placed a soluble CBD + THC tablet (Trokie) up into the corner of my mouth where it was slowly absorbed into the facial branches of my carotid artery. After my vision cleared up, I had no headache.

Keep in mind I also take a pure CBD tablet every couple days, so it's not just the one tablet during episodes.

Tablet Newspaper (1994)

spawnflagger says...

Only thing they were way off the mark was getting updates via kiosks and cards... I hope their patent(s) were licensed by Apple and other tablet makers.

Honestly their Newspaper "app" looks way more appealing than the Apple News app I use today.

Spawn - The Rise of Image Comics

kingmob says...

I got sucked into the Spawn for awhile in its beginnings.
I think I still have all those issues.

It was the one of the better Image brands.

Digital Comics are pretty awesome.
Comixology keeps improving their tablet/phone app.
I would have never read Atomic Robo or the Walking Dead or even Invincible if it wasn't for Comixology.

Right now I am reading X-O Manowar, because Valiant is joining the movie making business...google it.

Laters.

Classic Wernicke's Aphasia

Mordhaus says...

I had a best friend who had something very similar happen. He had a lifetime issue with Meth. I wouldn't necessarily classify it as addiction since he could go years without using it, but if it was available and he was in that mood, he would use it.

Usually it would happen when he went back home to Oklahoma and hung out with his old best friend from years before. The last time he went, he used it and it exacerbated an undetected aneurysm. They found him barely alive and with brain damage to the same area of the brain that the person in the video has.

After a year of recovery, during which we were unsure if he would recover at all, he did manage to begin speaking again and have some movement. His speech was very much the same; you could sense he knew what he was trying to say, but all the wrong words came out. He had to use a tablet like device that would tell you what he was trying to say, it was supposed to also help him retrain his mind so that he could speak again.

Sadly he passed away in his sleep about 6 months later. I still can't believe it sometimes. He died at 41, when I was 39. Now I am older than he was and he was in far better health than me, except for the aneurysm. It's just weird how things work out.

The science is in: Exercise isnt the best way to lose weight

dannym3141 says...

At 1:43 the conclusion made from the graph is "5lbs at most" when the graph shows a different story. Those blue shadows on either side of the line show some kind of uncertainty whether it be best case and worst case scenarios or margin for errors.

I know that sounds like nitpicking, but it'd be like someone saying they love cars and know all about them, but when you ask what their favourite type of car is they say "red ones". It presents itself as scientific but then makes a high school level scientific mistake that just scratches at the surface of credibility.

[calories in] - [calories out] = [net calories absorbed or lost]

Calories are directly proportional to mass or weight. If you burn more than you ingest then you lose weight, it is unavoidable. The "best" way to lose weight is to be negative in the above sum, either by increasing your energy expenditure (exercise) or decreasing your energy intake (food). And of course the body needs essential vitamins and whatnot to function and remain healthy.

I have a friend who took tablets to increase his resting metabolism. He lost weight, but also sweated profusely, had a high heart rate that worried him and regained the weight straight after coming off them.

*quality cos i need to be reminded to treat myself. Thinking about buying a tablet. I was amazed amazon has a 7" one for $49. Had no idea they were so cheap.

Hodor makes fun of Apple in Samsung ad

RFlagg says...

Yeah, I don't know if most source material will be better here than on the iPad. Wake me when you have a 4k OLED with HDR.

That said, the ending, they show the tablet in portrait mode rather than landscape. After all he said...
