Being in a small but livable house somewhere in the prince edward islands surrounded by my books and movies.

Ceaseless physical pain.

6. What is your greatest extravagance?

My smoking. Expecially in NY state. Its like 8 dollars a pack.

Somewhat at peace. Gettin' excited to go out for beers with my new colleagues.

8. What do you consider the most overrated virtue?

Confidence--it freezes personalities in place and I am sick of waiting for the ice to thaw.

On many. Mostly when I want to disguise who I really am, which may be lost altogether.

The grey hairs on my beard.

Dick Cheney would have to be up there.

Humility, warmth, intelligence, strong and independent.

Fuck.

15. What or who is the greatest love of your life?

A woman who no longer causes me emotional pain but whom I still love.

16. When and where were you happiest?

Its hard to remember. I think two winters ago when I was living in Boston and still making and watching movies, and drinking, and with good people.

17. Which talent would you most like to have?

Piano.

18. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Not be so nervous all the time.

Getting into a first rate PhD program.

Maybe something like a mountain goat.

Iceland or Montreal both sound great to me.

I'll try and avoid platitudes like "my brain" and just say my laptop.

Being in any way helplessly beholden to any one person or group of people. The police, or a shitty relationship, for instance.

Film programmer.

My beard

Understanding.

Borges.

A Pulitzer? Please. He's not reporting. He's just aggregating other sources. Just like Andrew Sullivan and the NY Times Lede blog. If this is what gets praised as hard-hitting journalism in the Internet age, where one person gets the credit by linking to a lot of other people's hard work, then we'll be hard out of luck when the money dries up for those doing the real reporting.

^It didn't change, Andrew Sullivan (&gwiz) interpreted the sentence "The Presidency of the Council of the EU closely followed the course of the Presidential elections held on 12 June 2009 and notices Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was re-elected" to mean they acknowledge his victory.

Mousavi is going to march in about half an hour. There have been rumors that the march was cancelled, but this was misinformation by the government. "#iranElection" on twitter and the "IRAN" group on facebook remain best sources of information. The mainstream media really dropped the ball on this one, and their headlines are a couple of hours or more behind, and not entirely reliable.
