Unreal, but actually real Golf - Augusta Masters 2012

reiwan says...

Neither was it a hole in one. Hey guys, this video is a phony! A BIG FAT PHONY!

Still a good shot though.

>> ^Samaelsmith:

Forgive me if I seem a bit disappointed but I didn't see the ball actually hit the water in this video, only a vague splash as the camera flashed past.

FOX explains $4 gas when Bush was president

My wife drives a hybrid and pays $60 a month filling up her tank twice a month.
My advice to you sirs, is to get a hybrid and LEASE it for 3 years. If you lease it, then, yes, you're not building equity with the car, but it alleviates the biggest complaint about hybrid cars: replacing the battery means you'll negate any savings on gas.
When her lease is up, we simply roll it over into another lease, with another 3 year warranty (which covers the battery during those three years as well).
WIN!

I'd prefer a diesel over a hybrid.

Bingo! I've been driving a VW Golf TDI for over 9 years now. I pay fuel costs comparable to a hybrid without all the extra costs of owning a hybrid.

Even in the dead of a NY winter, I don't have any problems. You pour a splash of fuel additive in when it gets down in the single digits and that's that. No block heater, no garage. Just wait 30s for the glow plugs and then turn the key and go.

1) You know you are a true chemistry pimp if your everyday glasses have eye protecting side splash guards permanently attached to them.
2) When they were first coming up with breast implants, someone had to feel-test prototypes and compare them vs. the real thing so that they could get the correct suppleness.

Zero Punctuation: Top 5 of 2011

Console gaming is a pass time. PC Gaming is more of a hobby. I'm not trying to sound snoby, it just has all the elements. You have to invest time into building systems, tweaking them, keeping up with all the various latest hardware, etc.. And.. most importantly.. spend a f-ton of money to support your hobby.

All of this I love doing, but I can see how a console is the right choice for others. Just give consoles a gorram keyboard and we wont have to keep dumbing down the freaking controls.

Now the flashing arrows, and hints on every splash screen is another story.

Why I will never vote for Ron Paul

longde says...

"But in this argument, I actually agree with Paul, and I think Matthews is playing a cheap gotcha-game with him."
"Ultimately Matthews is just trying to get RP to slip him a negative soundbite that they can turn around and splash non-contextually throughout the media."

Matthews is not playing a gotcha game here. He is asking direct questions or posing clear hypotheticals to Paul. The reason they seem like gotcha questions is because truthful answers to those questions would polarize Paul's voting base. And would be totally abhorrent to voters like me who are otherwise receptive to Paul's message.

"So you're saying the US government is going to specially treat certain groups poorly because Ron Paul would be in office?"

No, I'm saying that Ron Paul would push to abolish laws like the 64 Civil Rights Act if he were president or begin to lean government in that direction. Am I wrong here?

"Again, we're talking about government legislation. Silly laws get passed all the time. In this case it has surely hurt Arizona already, and will continue to hurt them. I'd say 'let them be dumb', but in this case we don't really need to, as I doubt their law is constitutional."

You're willing to let Arizona stew in their mess because it doesn't affect you. If you were a latino in Arizona, you'd feel differently.

Why I will never vote for Ron Paul

artician says...

Ultimately Matthews is just trying to get RP to slip him a negative soundbite that they can turn around and splash non-contextually throughout the media. Paul defends his position well, and if you ever paid attention to Paul's past comments on the same topic, his stance is basically summed up as: Do whatever you want, but bring no harm to another. He argues for the utmost freedom for any individual, and sees governments binding of personal beliefs to be overstepping boundaries.

We needed the Federal government to force the social change for civil rights on the people, but society has progressed since then that being openly racist in most of the US today does make you look like a complete ass. I really doubt we would see a flourishing of "whites-only havens" opening across the nation like Matthew suggests.

I wish Paul wouldn't have gotten stuck with this reputation, because I'm in no way prejudiced against anyone, and even I can see what his point is. It's the same as his heroin remark - just because you repeal laws for something most people look down upon by and large, doesn't mean most people are going to run out and do it immediately afterward. All it does it open the way for those few who insist on having racism/drugs/etc in their lives to do so freely. The moment those motivations cause them to harm another, they're guilty as they would be under most legislation anyway (harassment, violence, etc).

Do what ever you want, just bring no harm to another!

the only thing that sucks about this video clip.. is that there is no translation!

There's not much to translate. They put lotion on the stairs and pit of water at the bottom that is 5 degrees Celsius. Most of the what people are saying is stuff like:
"Don't give up! Keep trying!"
"Somebody stop Tamura!"
"It's freezing!"
etc.

I think these will be a huge failure -- at least in terms of a clean urinal station. There will always be those who will test the boundaries, yeah? Can I pee in the next urinal? What happens if I pee too far left, too far right?

I predict pee splash. EVERYWHERE.

Drug use, rapes, murders and random deaths are in every camp, all the attendant chaos one would expect when socialists, anarchists, code pink commies and feed-the-flames libmedia descend anywhere. These protestors are not even 1% of the 99%.

Citation needed, motherfucker.

Idiots put all their links in an image, so you can't click on them and read the reports for yourself... hmm, I wonder why?? Oh, it's because there were no reported murders in the links! And no reported rapes in the links! Lesser events? Yes, a few. Completely unrelated events? Why, yes, several!

Here, for your reading pleasure, are all the links the right-wing crypto-fascist zombie airheads can come up with to marginalize the "dirty hippies" on the lawn:

Links originally from Pundit Press:

From Oregon Live: Primarily about a man who showed up at Occupy Portland, dismissed it as "an eyesore" and criticized its "lack of cohesion", and was arrested within days for starting fires. Also includes a few other accounts of minor drug posession, disorderly conduct, a weapons charge, and arrests of people for charges unrelated to the Occupy camp. Occupy Portland had a problem from near the beginning with homeless people joining the camp, and there were no services from the city or state to help them.

From Denver Post: A man who made an impassioned speech in favor of the Occupy Fort Collins camp was arrested as a suspect in an ENTIRELY UNRELATED arson charge.

From Gawker: A military veteran died of a self-inflicted gunshot, and the city used it as an excuse to halt all camping.

From Fox News: A "rash" of reports that consists of 1 accusation of sexual abuse and 1 accusation of sexual assault in Zuccotti park, 1 accusation of sex with a minor in Dallas, and 1 alleged sexual assault in Cleveland. Fox inflates this to "nearly a half-dozen" reports. The article also includes a number of unsubstantiated rumors of destructive behavior by Occupy protestors in various locations around the country.

From Komo News: A man accused of indecent exposure (completely unrelated to the Occupy movement) is arrested when spotted taking part in an Occupy Seattle protest.

From Redstate: Blantaly right-wing opinion piece which includes a number of links purportedly supporting the premise that the Occupy movement is full of criminals. The very first link is about the police entrapment on the Brooklyn Bridge. One of the links is the above piece from Komo News about an unrelated exposure charge. And another is about how Iran supports the Occupy movement (fear the boogeyman!).

From Reuters: This article is about the man shot by Berkeley police in a computer lab at UC Berkeley. No ties to the Occupy movement at all. But the Occupy protest was nearby, so it must be related, right???

From ABC News: A man is arrested for firing an assault rifle at the White House. He "may have spent time with Occupy D.C. protesters."

From The Daily Cardinal: Link broken; defaults to University of Wisconsin's Daily Cardinal homepage.

From New York Post: Article is about theives preying on the lack of security at the Occupy camp. Apparently all that police overtime is really helping...

So! All these articles, and they amount to... a few isolated issues that don't nearly account for all the numbers posted, and a couple of them are for unrelated charges where the person might have been caught in or near an Occupy event.

My overall analysis: Aside from QM being full of shit as usual, it's time to let the camps go. They made a splash, but now they are just being used as fodder for the right wing lie-machines. There are just too many unrelated crazies that come to the camps and interfere with the message. It's time to Occupy the polls, and put the energy into publicly supported legislation.

Space Cat away!!!

handmethekeysyou says...

This was actually done with a luma key, not a chroma key.

Luma key removes anything above (or, rarely, below) a certain brightness. Chroma key removes a color range.

The interference in the white on the cat + presence of shadows on the floor + lack of color splash around the edges are give aways.
