Who is the fastest character in Brawl?
I love studies of video games. I spent a month or so trying to create a topological map of shadow of the colossus. I'm not into SSB, but I dig this kind of thing, so upvote from me. I think that is one of the reasons I am so fascinated by speed runs. What is the fastest that is possible in theory to win a given video game. A month ago, I would have said that the recently made 10:29 speedrun of mario 3 was impossible. Now it has been shown to be possible. Four years ago I never would have believed that the 11 minute mark was possible.
Stuff like this is awesome.
Super Mario Bros. glitches
I think you miss the point. It's not that this isn't possible in the original game, it's that the feats of timing are likely programmed as in those once-common speed runs which would get posted. Someone is just having more fun with the technology. Go watch a Zelda 2 speedrun and then try to do it on the NES.
Morrowind speedrun
Speed Demos Archive has the writeup about this speedrun. Yes, the missing 'cuts' were because intervention scrolls were used. Still a damn good run, regardless of the jitteriiness the scrolls create in gameplay.
Morrowind speedrun

About these "cuts"...
yeah. nothing of any consequence was cut.
and you can tell he's played it a dozen times, and is ready to click, for every action and encounter.
Morrowind - trailer
a truly non-linear RPG, and tragically that was the flaw for me
having given me absolutely no motivation and little direction, the game was very short for me. i tried so hard too, played and explored even though i didn't understand why or what i was doing. eventually stole everything from a large town, sold it for huge profit, and then realised that i was none the wiser, and the money could only buy me things that i had no use for.
further shown, imo, by the guy who completed the game by combining certain potions and speedflying/speedrunning to the "end" such as it was, and potion pwning the "final objectives" such as they were.
this comment well go down badly, but there it is.. the game never did enough to hook me either at the start or when i tried playing on.. and in fact i don't think there's been an RPG since baldur's gate (was fallout before or after? except fallout, then) that actually grabbed me by the lapels and shook me
the story of durlag's tower (expansion) was the best story i've ever experienced in a game!
Morrowind speedrun
Funny, I wonder if they reused some of these voice actors in Oblivion? Oh man, they DEFINITELY did. I recognize the Baurus voice. Speedruns may be my way of dealing with the fact that I'd like ot see how these old-time games that I didn't get around to played in a fast way. Good sift!

Half Hour Half Life
Awesome speedrun. What always gets me is that I don't understand about 90% of the tricks he does.
Android Hell Is A Real Place
@cheesemoo. Pretty damn quick. http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZMWINxccmVg
But i love seeing all the speedruns on youtube... how do people get so good at a game so fast? This android hell run has been completed in 39secs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtXoZk9cGno
Portal End Credits Song
The song is really great, by the way you can extract it from the game files, all you need to do is get a tool called GCFScape from here and look in your Steam folder in the file "portal content.gcf".
For the game I have to say Valve expanded the original formula of the student game Narbacular Drop with an incredibly good sense of style, I really love the voice of GLaDOS, the speaking sentry guns and of course the Weighted Companion Cube <3 ! And I'm sure we've just seen the beginning of the portal idea used in games, it really amazes me how far you can think outside the box with the portals, as an example have a look at the speedruns from this youtube user (SPOILER in case you're going for the gold achievements), I figured out the way to get to gold in these maps but already this person almost halved both my times on these maps with a few great ideas.
Fallout 1 Speed Run in 9:19
Now I want to try Fallout 2 (never played a c"rpg" besides FFs). Still, not an exciting speedrun at all, platform speedruns are more fun.
this is boring.
Super effective torpedo splits a destroyer into two pieces
ps: am i also the only one nerdy enough to actually load up the game to make sure that he had the context exactly right?
pps: actually I'm nerdier than that- i loaded up a SPEEDRUN of pokemon that i just HAPPENED to have on my HD to find the exact wording from in game. wow, i really should get out more or something.
