That is many things, but that is not a tom servo voice

Not sure I'm down with the new Tom Servo voice.

I agree that the inside of the ball probably resembles a weighted arm with servo-driven rollers that can move the ball around on one end (likely the bottom) and an articulated arm on the other that has magnets that keep the head from falling off and can move it around on the ball. The head itself could be largely passive, with no ability to "move" itself.

Great timing on this video. I just ordered an HD DLP last week. I should have it in 6-8 weeks, as I live in a 3rd world country now.

I was shocked they had highly rated SD DLP projectors for LESS THAN $100. I went with the $600 true HD version though with 20x more light output.

But this video also really helps me further conceptualize and realize my solar powered death ray. I want to have a 10,000 one inch mirrors hooked to independently, hyper accurate micro-servos, then have the whole array on a large servo controlled panel that angles towards the sun. With the right control logic, you can have 10,000x the power of the sun focused onto a single, movable, virtual target 1 inch in size. Hot.

Dunno...the rather robotic servo movements kill it for me.

This is a semester project in mechatronic control systems at SJSU.

The 6 DOF platform is a proof-of-concept prototype that we created for our senior project (motion simulator). Here, we are using 2 axes of the platform as the output from a PID controller that uses a resistive touch panel mounted on the platform as input. All processing is being done on an Arduino Uno that is controlling 6 R/C servo motors.

These were in Hawaii... an insect large enough for my camera to actively track on AI SERVO mode.... then I found out they CAN sting.

Actual helicopters can do pretty similar things, but the problem, as youtuber SmarterEveryDay explains it, is not the machine, but the meat bag servo - humans can't withstand the G's.

Expensive? Motors, motion sensors, flashing lights and a voicebox? They could definitely make this affordable.
For some reason I thought it had a motion tracker that told the servos to aim the guns directly at you. But it doesn't which makes much less impressive.
