Bwaaahahahahaaaaaa! Aaaaaaa-aaaaaaa-aaaaaaaa-hahahahahaaaaa!
You are such a silly little boy.

“New product issues”. That’s what you call the utter failure of the cybertruck ending in a mandatory recall of all of them, and the abysmal build quality of Teslas. By “addressed” you mean ignored and denied like in the past?

Another fan boy gonna try to excuse the horrific build quality, the poor design, the failure of multiple advertised features, the inability to get a pickup truck wet or it voids the warranty (including car washes which are required daily to avoid rust), the lower than advertised range, the unsafe features that can cut all your fingers off if you aren’t extremely careful, the faked tests and demonstrations, the loss of market share to better non cyber trucks for half the cost or less, and the hyper political man baby who runs the company and takes the profits?

Sorry Charlie, the cyber truck is recalled for multiple safety and quality reasons. Orders are being cancelled, and couldn’t be filled anyway, production is crawling and slowing down. You just used Tesla laying off over 10% of its workforce to imply the economy was failing (stupidity, your name is bob, should have read your cut and paste), now you try to pretend it’s doing great and only getting better. That’s how I know you still have that Tesla stock, otherwise you would be complaining with the rest of his customers/investors. 😂
Being first to market was all Tesla had going for it, now thanks to mismanagement it squandered that advantage and has a bad reputation, unlike its better designed competitors.

Tesla is offering deep discounts because sales have slumped.

If you want to truly know about the cyber truck.

Cybertruck Bullet Test

newtboy says...

Oh shit! Hey @bobknight33…did you know?
Under 2 months after delivery, in some cases just days after delivery, users are finding out the “stainless steel” skin is less than stainless. They used low quality steel. It rusts immediately.
In one case an owner in LA drove for 2 days and found hundreds of orange pock marks that were the skin rusting.
Owners are even more shocked to find out Tesla says this is owner error, that in the manual it says you must remove anything on the exterior immediately or it will rust…so tree sap, bugs, bird poop, road spray, rain, dust, mud, dirt, fog, fingerprints, etc WILL permanently damage the finish if not removed immediately….yes, you are expected to do a full inspection and wipe down every single day after every drive, and keep your oversized truck indoors or expect rust immediately, and should still expect discoloration as the steel ages.
If you live within 20 miles of the ocean, or somewhere road salt is used, or near salt lake, or somewhere with trees, birds, dust, or rain…or if you ever plan to visit them…cybertruck is absolutely not a good choice.
Tesla knew.

Seriously, the value of gold is it's conductive and anti rusting properties, not how much of it you can hang off your neck to buy yourself an ego or as a replacement for your personality.

Fuck these losers.

Fallout 76 – Official Teaser Trailer

Being from WV, I was excited about a Fallout game possibly being set in my home state. Then I found out it's an online multiplayer game that people are loosely describing as a "Rust Clone" so now absolutely zero fucks are given.

Transparent Aluminum

newtboy says...

They did invent a new, amazing, transparent metallic compounded never seen before with properties that outperform natural and synthetic aluminum oxides, which until now were not fully transparent. Did you even watch the video?

As the inventors, they get to name it. Transparent aluminum is a good, descriptive name, imo. You can disagree, but if you insist it's not aluminum you'll be contradicted.

Do I call rust "iron" in normal conversation with non scientists, no.
In chemistry class, yes, it's oxidized iron, so "iron" is right.
Would I be silly enough to claim it's NOT iron, absolutely not.

Jinx said:

Aint nothing I like more on a hot day than a coool glass of liquid hydrogen.

AlON is fine. I guess my point was that transparent compounds of metals aren't exactly uncommon, and neither is compounds having quite different characteristics to the elements from which they are composed. So it just seems silly to act like they've invented some amazing transparent metal.

Do you call rust iron? "Look at this chassis, its COVERED in iron! It's practically all iron all the way through!"

Is there aluminum in it? Yes.
Is that aluminum opaque or transparent? Transparent.
*Mic drop*

You griefers are silly.

Transparent Aluminum

newtboy says...

So, you think rust isn't iron?

Yes, this is aluminum, just as ruby and sapphires are states of aluminum (technically corundum, the technical term for aluminum oxide) but because this is not naturally occurring they were smart to make the chemical composition it's name, AlON (aluminum, oxygen, nitrogen).
You make a new useful compound, you can name it whatever you like. ;-)

Jinx said:

Can we really call it transparent aluminum? I mean, then its also solid oxygen! at room temperature!

Red Transparent Aluminium! aka Ruby
Blue Transparent Aluminium! aka Sapphire

AMAGAD. WHAT IS THIS ON MY KITCHEN TABLE? TRANSPARENT SODIUM!!?!??!?!?!1

Polishing a Rusty Knife

Buttle says...

Good quality Japanese blades are carbon steel, with no concessions to stainlessness at all. In a humid environment (my cellar, for example) carbon steel can grow that much rust in a week, easy.

Spacedog79 said:

Call me a cynic but I'm calling fake on this one. The blade of the knife is rusty but the handle looks like it's never been used. I reckon he bought the knife and left it in some brine to rust so he could make up some story for this video to "restore" it.

Liberal Redneck - Muslim Ban

newtboy says...

No, it's the 'your car has dents, so don't look down your nose at their rust' argument.

If you can't see the obvious relevance, I can't help you farther. I think it's willful blindness to avoid the obvious conclusion, because you don't SEEM that dense.

transmorpher said:

It's the "people in the west do bad things too" argument in a different format.

That's a bit like saying, my car already has a dent so I don't bother driving carefully anymore. And in Germany's case, I now drive with my eyes closed

And yes, for NewtBoy that is all a false equivalency. The two issues have absolutely nothing to do with each other, and not even remotely relevant to immigration. (But maybe they could be made relevant, and like you've suggested we'll not only send back the pedo priests back to the Vatican we'll take in a progressive Muslim immigrant, it's win win!).

Lest We Forget: The Big Lie Behind the Rise of Trump

shagen454 says...

I was about the reply to Bobknight - to say basically the same thing.

Unfortunately, a lot of us who are "liberal" can't understand this. There is truth to it, I'm not going to say that it isn't batshit crazy but for instance, I worked 5 days at a design temp job (before I quit and got the job of a lifetime a week later) and the owner was an older lady. She listened to FOX news ALL DAY long, totally in the box and in the zone for the alt-right mentality.

She, as a small business owner, who probably has other "conservative"(extremist) friends on the Chamber of Commerce (of which she was a part of) really believed that Trump as a "BUSINESS" person would be a great president in creating a better economy for"business"(tax loopholes everywhere, YES!!! No living wage or minimum wage increases, YESSS!!! fucking dicks the lot of em). I had to listen to this shit for those 5 days, but yeah - people really believe(d) it. There are business people out there, who aren't Bobknights eating doritoes in that wheel-less, rusted, mobile home in the trailer park waiting for the next tornado to plop down on tornado alley and give them the ultimate ride to the otherside, that believed in having a business person in the white house a good thing (fucking capitalists and terribly ignorant poor people IMO lol).

Media is in a real shithole these days. I mean, I still listen to Democracy Now! & NPR... but everything is slanted one-way or another...

Cavuto: How does it feel to be dismissed, CNN?

enoch says...

so let me get this straight.

neil cavuto,a pandering, whoremongering demagogue who represents all that is diseased and corrupt from FOX news.is glibly and childishly deriding CNN for now being in the very boat that FOX was for years.

that somehow the criticism and sly accusations of FOX being biased and slanted were not warranted.that the REAL focus should be on the reactions of the executive branch, and not on the content of cable news.

when we consider that even as late as 2010,33% of FOX viewers STILL thought that iraq had connections to al qeada, and that they were hiding WMD's.this alone is enough to condemn FOX as a rapacious propaganda machine.

i am not letting CNN off the hook.who have also been caught fabricating conflict based on questionable sources to formulate political crisis when there was none.

but that is not even something cavuto is addressing.he is literally beaming with a smug condescension in this piece,self-righteously admonishing an entire network as if those networks are not populated by individuals.

as if they of one mind.
one message.
and the message is:"poor CNN is no longer the favorite and now has to sit in the back of the bus like we did for 8 years".

do you know what this is?
and i am POSITIVE cavuto is totally unaware of this comparison.

this is the new house negro ridiculing the OLD house negro.
who were lovingly called "house niggers" *dedicated to @gorillaman*and "uncle tom's" back in the day.

so house negro neil cavuto is just gushing with pride that his new master prefers his network to that old rust bucket CNN.

the new pimp in chief likes his cable news to bow and prostrate itself upon his moist loins, and no other network can whore itself quite like FOX news.

so good for you mr neil cavuto!
you are the presidents new, favorite whore.
so pucker up you precious little slut, trump has something for you,and say goodbye to your last vestige of moral integrity.

now go be a good house negro and go make a trump a sandwich.

this is too delicious not to *promote

Michael Moore perfectly encapsulated why Trump won

radx says...

That if is a mighty big if.

And the lessons you think they "need to learn" from this election are probably different from the lessons that the professional class (credit to Thomas Frank) thinks the Democrats need to learn. To them, it's not about getting a candidate that has a higher favorability rating than a meteor strike, but to find a candidate that maintains their status in society. They are the winners of "free trade" (see Rigged by Dean Baker) and globalisation, while a vast number of people have been thrown into debt peonage, wage slavery or worse.

Unless the Democratic Party emancipates itself from the donors and the professional class, I don't see them becoming a home to champions of the people. Look at how the DNC conspired with the Clinton campaign to crush the Sanders candidacy -- lots of juicy bits about that in the Podesta emails. Look at Corbyn, who is basically caught up in a civil war within Labour, despite overwhelming support by the party base.

The Third Way (Social-)Democrats have bought into neoliberalism at such a fundamental level that I just cannot see anyone turning them into a vessel for social equality without getting utterly corrupted or even crushed along the way.

The lesson they learn might be to not nominate a member of a dynasty with so much baggage attached to them. Yet even that depends on them actually recognising the baggage in the first place, which they seemed unwilling to during this election cycle. Everything was brushed off.

And then you're still stuck with a representative of a system that doesn't work for a lot of people. The situation of the rust belt is not a result of anything particular to the current or previous candidates, but of the Washington Consensus and the widespread acceptance of neoliberalism as gospel.

Without major outside pressure, I don't see the party changing its ways sufficiently enough to become a representative of the people again. Maybe a Trump presidency is enough to create such movements, maybe not. Occupy was promising, yet crushed by the establishment in bipartisan consensus.

MilkmanDan said:

Outside of the immediate setback that this represents to the Democrat party, I think the future of the party is actually extremely bright -- IF they learn the lesson that they need to from this election. Choose candidates that people like. People that are actually worth voting FOR, rather than propping up someone that you hope will be seen as the "lesser of two evils".

Removing rusted nuts using a candle and a lighter

Payback says...

I'm not saying it IS bullshit, it just seems a bit weird I've never heard of it before. There's a point where "with this one weird trick" style videos have to be taken with a skeptical eye. I've been an adult for the entire lifetime of the internet, and with no previous information, I have to wonder if a Bic lighter has enough BTU's to heat up that nut, as the wheel stud and wheel make a decent heat sink.

In reference to your other post, paraffin wax (candle wax) is actually a component in surfboard and ski wax. I just think it's more effective at preventing rust, rather than seeping into it. As it is similar to kerosene, the video might be somewhat correct. I just doubt the Bic lighter part.
