Maybe the alt-right idiots should move tro germany. The first Wolfenstein is banned (still) and all following games are heavily censored or outright banned as well. And it's not just for the violence. Since Return to Castle Wolfenstein all games have removed Nazi insignia so you don't kill Nazis anymore but other made up groups instead (in RtCW the Nazis were renamed into the Wolves IIRC). The New Colossus contains all the violence in germany but no swastikas or SS runes.
What a load of Bullshit.

You'll have to stop barking first.

Not surprised that you have nothing to say about this, as it is, probably, the primary reason so many former Diablo players won't be playing D3. The rest of this list is just icing. There is simply no reason whatsoever to require a persistent online connection for single player, at least from the player's perspective.

Huh? Nothing in D2 required you to go to "sketchy websites" and spend money. Some items were only available in the online game, but the player still had the choice whether to participate or not, and I didn't. In D3, spending real money is an integral part of the game. Sure, you still don't have to, but both drops and crafting have been nerfed in order to encourage spending.

The inclusion of the AH turns everybody into an open wallet that can be manipulated. How? Say Blizzard's stats show a player sells the majority of his uniques in the AH. Up his unique drops. Make more money when he sells in the AH. How about giving players more drops of valuable items they already possess? More duplicates, more selling in AH, more profit for Blizzard. Need more storage space in your stash? Unfortunately, Blizzard just made it smaller in the beta. Luckily, you'll be able to buy more space in the AH. Want a pet to pick up all your gold for you? Oops! Removed, but no doubt you'll soon be able to buy one in the AH.

The whole monetizing thing is offensive to me as a PC gamer and former Blizzard fan. You wanna be a chump? Go for it. Buy yourself some Ancient Armor of Win and have a blast.

Have you even played D2 or kept up with all the interface "streamlining" in D3 at all? Everything is being nerfed to encourage participation in the AH. Those pets I mentioned above don't do anything except pick up your gold. Talk about "dumbed-down". This game is headed for consoles.

SOME randomized dungeons, last I read. Although, if I'm wrong, it doesn't really matter. I said "linear", not "non-random". One does not mean the other. I have little hope you can understand the difference. I'll try to use them both in a sentence for you later.

Oh, please. The textures look like they shot primary-colored paint balls onto an easel and captured it through a shear stocking. Again though, doesn't matter. Very low on my list of issues, if it's there at all. I mainly just needed an adjective.

...sounds pretty fanboy-ey and I can see why you wouldn't want people to see it. It explains alot. However... on the chance it was just a random typo and not an example of your linear thinking, I'll just say this...

It's Blizzard's loss, not mine. I don't get too emotionally attached to "things". With Torchlight2, Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, and even Legend of Grimrock in the works, I won't miss D3 one bit.

I'm just really bored at the stagnate FPS genre atm. Hasn't been a good recent multiplayer FPS game recently apart from TF2, and that was a while back. Even then the focus is clearly on public play and the competitive community is small and dying out pretty quickly. Its sad that in this e-sports renaissance created by SC2 there is no FPS game to really step up and enter the limelight. The Arena style of Quake needs to make a comeback. Its so watchable as a spectator sport, and the skill the best players display is just astounding. Even watching these speedruns etc makes my jaw drop.
Instead we get boring Modern Yawnfair 12 - For Xbox360 and PS3! And yah, I'm a PC elitist. I watched some Halo3/Reach @ MLG and while it wasn't terrible, it was lightyears behind Quake. CS:GO is on the horizon, and I hope steam support that as much as they are pouring money into DotA2, but still, I prefer an FPS where you don't die in one pixelshot or from wallbanging spam.

Oh, and a new tribes is coming, but I was super turned off by their free2play model. If its anything like LoL I am not interested. I'd rather pay upfront and know I am on a equal footing than everybody else rather than sink limitless cash into making sure I can remain competitive.


I realize I'm necroing a 2 week old video thread, but, there are some things that nobody bothered to say.

Jinx: Many of these F2P games are not Pay2Win. You simply pay for variety/speed of unlocks. Nothing you can pay for with cash can make you do more damage, move faster, etc. The only things in LoL that absolutely require actual cash are character skins and extra rune pages. Everything else can be unlocked with the same points even the richest person has to earn by playing matches. Can you spend $1-200 and unlock every character? Yes. Do you have to...is it worth it? No. Just play with the free rotated characters each week. Personally, I'm sick of paying up front for shitty games or games I don't play that often.


@EvilDeathBee The difference is, many of the companies that used to produce the best stuff now produce mass market crap and many of the great companies were bought out and/or ruined by EA/Activision. Westwood Studios...gone. Lucasarts is plagued by the same mass market bullshit problems as the newer movie trilogy. id hasn't made a good shooter since before Doom 3, and Rage is the latest crap they've spewed out. You can find videos of Carmack saying they're being held back by console graphics/memory considerations. Luckily we have Blizzard and Valve still, though Blizzard is now Activision Blizzard, and is making console Diablo 3 and has added friggin Facebook to Battle net. GG. Valve seems to want to make hats, ignore HL2:Ep3 while splitting the already-split MOBA community by releasing DOTA2, which nobody really asked for given that HoN and LoL are rather popular. But, at least Valve and Blizz put out quality PC games. BF3 now has the useless Origin, which is nothing but a business move and provides zero benefit to gamers.

Games used to be art. Now they're all about money.

@Hawkinson "A few thousand"? Doom 2 sold like 2 million back before PC gaming was at all popular. Quake 2 sold 1-1.5 million also. I couldn't find Q1 numbers but I'd guess they're similar. You're also forgetting that Doom 2 was distributed as shareware, and I've seen estimates that 15 million played it. Give google a try next time you want to pull statistics out of your ass

they just need to fix Netcode , AI and have a bunch of company run servers running capture the flag modes or well defined game modes.

the most annoying thing with Arma 2 is when u play online often its lagged ( to the point that u shoot sumone over and over and they don't die until 15 seconds later) , and often most the servers are a total mess . so the only time you can have a really solid and reliable game play exsperance is if you coop with a couple of friends on your own server.

ontop of that The coop can really suffer with the AI being compleaty thick and slow ( they are good at general tactical movements and stuff and i'm sure the AI is miles better than most games technicaly) but when it comes down to interacting with them they r so bad it destroys the whole motivation to play and reward you would get from playing well in the game.

other issue with the ai is there whole targting system , instead of laying down fire and runing to cover they generaly just drop to the floor and then on harder dificulty settings they have ahabbit of geting shots perfectly on target , rather than spamming the general area which is what normally happens in real life.

having said all that ill get arma 3 on day 1 as its an amazing peace of software they r bringing out a chopper sim soon

Eh... composed music is overrated. One of my favorite aspects of WoW, even moreso in BC was the ambient noise. The sound was damn near experimental but always felt rock solid along with the art direction. I liked the new Cataclysm content for 1-60 but after burning through the 80-85 bit I'm done with WoW, forever. I will always fondly look upon the years I played it on and off.

GW2 looks great and I'll definitely get it - but seriously, we need to get back to basics. Forget WoW for a second and let's make a virtual world, remember one of the first MMO's Ultima Online? Yeah, we need to revisit something on that scope in 3D. Do you remember how much more was possible in UO than in 99% of these shite MMOs? I used to walk upon entire PC run cities, I used to have a two story house by a productive mine, I used to live there! I used to have ship battles with many other people. One time I stole a rival guild's ship that was filled to the brim with weapons and armor and unloaded it to guildmates in a port outside of another city.

WoW is an amazing game but people have to realize that it isn't necessarily that WoW recycled all of it's elements from elsewhere... it did so with so much style and balance (not so sure if that balance is still there). Blizzard are king's of gameplay mechanics of which they have many armchair critics. I think probably that they are always changing the mechanics to always make the game feel like the gameplay is changing because it is the only way to make the game feel like it is a tad different because obviously, the player has no impact on the world of Azeroth. It is original in the way it tackled many MMO problems. But, stop trying to mimic it, it's a losing battle. Zones were cool in WoW, but the other original MMO UO was a full on virtual world. That is where we need to go again. If someone wants to get rid of their old armor and set it on the ground, they should be able to do so. If they want to build a vendor outside of the city, they should be able to do that. If they want to explore the open seas - they should be able to do that. If they want to try to pickpocket a PC or a NPC's wares... If they want to set portals to certain areas attached to a rune... fully customizable gear... Where are you Lord British, hiding in your castle? For the most part MMOs are a terribly, shitty waste of time and money.

Every change they made from DAO to DA2 was bad. In DA2, Combat is a confusing mess. Crafting, runes, armor, and even weapon mods are all completely pointless, tacked on as an after thought, and you can easily complete the game without any of that stuff. The interface was overkill. The DA:O interface is as easy to use as wikipedia, the DA2 interface felt like someone wrote a crappy and unnecessary flash overlay for wikipedia.

The change most people seemed to enjoy the most was the fact that the player character has a voice in this game. And yet oddly, I am more satisfied with the lack of voice in DA:O, because it required some imagination on my part. I felt attached to my Warden, where as in DA2 I felt detached, like I was watching a fictional character play out a story. Worse yet there are no maps in DA2, even though all the locales are attached o one another. The lack of geography added to the detachment.

Which brings me to comparing stories. DA2 had a very linear story. There were no game changing decisions to be made until half way through act 3, where you have to decide on Mages vs Templars, and that would decide what ending you get. DAO had half a dozen major decisions, and a couple a dozen minor ones, and new story arcs always opened up depending on your choices. In DAO, I controlled the fate of Ferelden, and in DA2 I was forced to surrender to fate.

Bottom line, DA2 did not really feel like a true RPG. Its like they left the RP part out and I was playing just a G (video game). Had they kept the DAO engine, and DAO combat, and DAO crafting, and NPC customization, and just made some graphic improvements, the game would have been a hell of a lot more fun.

If this game is litraly a doom clone with better grpahics then it will be a good game.

This is the thing FPS is totaly lacking from PURE doom clones , the last one i can think of is serouse sam 1 and 2

By clone i mean Uniteligent pure shooter , the only shit thing with doom were the getting lost and all the key bullshit , if you take that out and just have it so your runing around shooting at lots of things.

Ironicaly shooters have tride to be clever and end up been more dum than doom , Half life 1 and duesex are the only shooters i can think of that have realy worked and are not of the run and gun doom style of game play.

I think of games like doom , and serouse sam as like them japanise space ship shooter games thay work realy well and are fun to play dont need story just pure shooting at shit with bigger guns.
