Ruh-roe.
Remember the leak of the Roe reversal? Remember how outraged the right was, how the leaker MUST be removed from the court and prosecuted to the fullest extent?
Turns out it’s almost certainly Alito, who has leaked other decisions like the Hobby Lobby case according to The NY Times.
I’m willing to bet any amount that you no longer think the leaker should be removed from the court…because you aren’t a serious or adult person and don’t think the rules you would apply to others apply should to you and yours.

Can you explain why so many Republican led legislatures have failed to pass, even blocked so many Democrat sponsored laws requiring priests, clergy, and pastors to report child sexual abuse? Of course you can’t.

CBS "Verifies" Hunter Bidens laptop

newtboy says...

Could this be any more of a non story?

Hunter isn’t a government employee, never was.

Nothing burger with cheese. Loser. Just more sour grapes over losing multiple election cycles. This was proven to be fake 2 years ago….and a non story in the first place.

What happened to Trump’s order….families are off limits, as are finances? Guess that’s just for criminal Republican Cons who feel rules are for others, never them. ROTFLMFAHS!!

You were warned…

3 weeks and Twitter has closed its doors and is likely soon to be gone.
Forced loyalty pledges.
Employees locked out, the very few left that is.
Verification, gone.
Advertisers, gone.
Parody, gone.
Freedom of speech, gone.
Misinformation teams, gone….but that was the reason he bought it, to remove fact checks of conservatives.
Safety, gone.
Design teams, gone.
Functionality teams, gone.
Building maintenance teams, gone.
Twitter employees tweeted each other goodbye because they see it’s dying. Even most of the few that signed the loyalty pledge to become “hard core Twitter” say it’s temporary, they just didn’t want to lose their jobs right before the holidays. Good luck automating everything and pleasing your customers. He already drove off almost all advertising and revenue.

$45 billion of Tesla cash down the drain, down over 55% ytd and still plunging, and still burning money by the truckload, possibly into bankruptcy, and under multiple congressional investigations….OUCH!…all because Elon couldn’t stand even 2 days of free speech and started perma banning people over nonsense he created.
All in on Tesla must not be looking as bright and shiny today. You can’t say you weren’t warned.

As a bonus, Florida’s moronic infantilizing “stop woke act” law is on hold. Poor baby snowflakes might have to hear actual history for a moment, not white washed “slavery was just a voluntary migration for work just like we see on the southern border and benefited the slaves greatly” nonsense. The judge quoted 1984 in his ruling, calling the law “positively dystopian”.

Curb your "safe" crypto exchange

It sounds to me like Florida is casting a wide net, including anyone with direct connections.
Paid spokespeople who disclosed at the time they were paid spokespeople will likely not be liable, but Mark Cuban is in trouble. He promoted crypto for years it seems, rarely stating he got paid to do it or that he had a large stake in the company. It’s going to bite him.

Yes, there are VERY different rules when it comes to financial investing and being a spokesperson for financial investment opportunities. They’re dealing with the FEC.

I wonder if having a stake in the company could have something to do with it. Also when it comes to financial investing the rules may be different having to do with responsibility. Will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Wait, are people blaming the paid celebrity endorsers, as if they're at fault for some part of this? I suppose that wouldn't surprise me as I've met people, but goddamn that's dumb. They're actors! They were PAID to ACT in an AD!

Tesla driver loses control as car speeds down street

newtboy says...

It absolutely looked like auto pilot taking control to me, I’ve never heard of someone mistaking the gas pedal for the brakes for 1/10 that timeframe, it’s usually under 1 second before they crash.

Hate to tell you but Tesla has denied fault every time auto pilot has failed. For instance, last year autopilot was involved in 273 crashes but only 35 had been reported since 2016, so clearly Tesla under reports. NTSB found that Tesla automatically turned off auto pilot just before it was going to crash to hide auto pilot involvement. New rules force reporting if auto pilot was in use 30 seconds before any crash, and cases increased exponentially overnight.

70% of all driver assistance involved crashes were Tesla.
5/6 fatalities were in Teslas, and the vast majority of serious injuries. (Now 7/8)

There’s a reason Tesla is under congressional investigation for killing people.

China does not trust Tesla to read the data without erasing or manipulating it. Reports I read said they were using a third party to go over the data because they believe Tesla will cover it up….as they believe Tesla has done before.

If you want to believe Musk when he again says “not my fault”, that’s your prerogative, but it’s not your prerogative not to tell others that’s the truth. Autopilot malfunctions are a documented issue….but occur far less often than driver malfunctions, it’s true. This is not the first reported runaway Tesla, just the first caught entirely on external cameras.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/06/15/tesla-autopilot-crashes/

https://tickernews.co/tesla-crash-leaves-two-dead-in-china/

Wait for the third party report to be sure, but all indications are this was an auto pilot malfunction, and Tesla doesn’t know more than we do right now because China isn’t giving them the car back.

bcglorf said:

And, not sure of the reliability of the site, but at least at link below is being reported Tesla's China branch is reporting exactly that:

Why American and European Trucks Are So Different

luxintenebris says...

as long as the driver has a large-mouth bottle, all american trucks have toilets.*

did read that there was a correlation between bladder cancer & truck drivers. was surmised, that holding your toilet had a part in the troubles. maybe, will have a definitive answer when amazon workers start having the same issues.

also many uti's.

read this reading up on school bathroom policies. a lot of uti's & colon-related problems - kids' tracts lose the ability to feel the urge & end up w/constipation and incontinent issues - in schools w/"hold it or lose recess" rules. (special place in hell, or the backyard, for those enforcers) - so the theory might hold water.

(a long drive for o̶n̶e̶ two puns.)

* "Most of us do carry pee bottles. But you have to stop to utilize them. I don't have enough hands to steer, shift, hold the bottle & direct Little Richard in the right direction all at the same time. Stopping to water the flowers is no longer an option, as it could lead to a sex criminal(sic) charge for indecent exposure."

So, today, Trump’s lawyers were sanctioned for filing frivolous lawsuits for Trump, likely to be disbarred. This is just the first of 11 plaintiffs sueing over the same frivolous lawsuit that the judge has already determined was filed in 100% bad faith with no evidence or crime as pure political theater, abusing the courts and defendants. She’s still facing well over $1 million in damages.

Also today, Trump admitted to allegedly abusing his federal powers to interfere in the Florida election in 2018. He’s saying this to 1) add fuel to his “elections are full of fraud” lie (no fraud found) and 2) to claim DeSantis couldn’t win without his interference, so definitely shouldn’t be the nominee.
So far it sounds like this is another pure tantrum lie from Trump, with no evidence he sent federal agents to “secure” any election in Florida. It is another indicator that he will abandon all rule of law if given another chance, and will illicitly interfere in elections.

Also, thin skinned snowflake Musk is driving Twitter into the ground quickly, driving off users, driving off advertising, firing critical staff, losing his executives, turning verification into a receipt for $8 and nothing else then losing his mind over parody pages, banning even clearly labeled parody, going full perma-ban over his hurt feelings, something he said he would outlaw when he bought it, tried but failed to bring back Trump. Sell your Tesla, he still owes over $40 billion, and all his money is Tesla stock, so he needs to take over $40 billion in cash out of his EV money pit to pay for the other unprofitable business he’s actively destroying at light speed.

Judge Locks Up Parkland Shooter for Life, Throws Away Key

bcglorf says...

Careful @newtboy, you're sounding a bit like a conservative on this one from the Canadian POV.

A terrorist that shot 12 people in a mosque, killing 6 was sentenced under new Conservative law that allowed sentences like murder to be applied consecutively. More details in the link below, but our liberal dominated Supreme Court ruled the 40 years without a parole chance was "cruel and unusual".

So our gov. will be giving them a chance at parole in 2039.

Death would be kinder and cheaper….especially if it’s at his own hands.

Odd posting from @bobknight33, since MAGA still insists this was a false flag operation, no one died, no one injured, and only crisis actors who were trotted out as a reason to take yer guns.
Marge Green went so far as to chase some of the surviving children, screaming and spitting at them in her rage over their existence and their nerve to want stronger gun regulations after nearly being murdered.

Ruh-roe. The second woman to accuse Walker of forcing her, threatening her into having an abortion that the right ignored because she was anonymous has come forward publicly with tons of proof of their affair.

I know, you don’t care that he’s everything you say you hate, a lying thuggish abusive cheating absentee father with untold baby mamas that forced multiple women to abort his babies under death threats and held a gun to his wife’s head intending to murder suicide more than once and has multiple personalities that tell him to murder people, because he wears a red R and says I’m Christian.

Nothing burger…but only because you sold out every bit of morals and ethics and rationality to support Trump without thinking.

As a bonus, Clinton filed for sanctions against Trump and Habba for over $1 million following the scathing dismissal of his suit described by the judge as the “absurd frivolous vexatious manifesto of a madman” RICO case he filed in March the tried to get his case assigned to “judge” Cannon, and when it was assigned to another judge tried to disqualify the assigned judge in another attempt to forum shop it into “Judge” Cannon’s court….something the presiding judge noted in his ruling. Gonna be sweet to see him hand Hilary a check for over $1 million while he can’t pay his own flailing lawyers.

No facts, no arguments, no adult point to make, just infantile noise. LMFAHS!!

Let me remind you that, again, your team just tried and failed to assassinate the second in line for the presidency. Are you really so delusional that you think anyone actually believes the right is pro democracy, or pro America, or pro rule of law? Even you, the epitome of gullibility, can’t be so moronic you really believe that, you just say it.

Aaaaaahahahahaha!!!

Trump and Eastman just lost attorney client privilege because a federal judge just ruled that they both likely conspired to commit crimes in connection with Jan 6 so cannot hide behind attorney client privilege! Called the crime/fraud exception. Their “work product” must now be turned over to the Jan 6 committee….and then handed to the DOJ. D’oh! Bye Felicia.

“ A federal judge in the Central District of California Judge David Carter just ruled that Donald Trump more likely than not engaged in criminal conduct including obstruction and conspiracy in connection with January 6 and ruled that Trump-lawyer John Eastman could not assert the attorney-client privilege and work-product privilege as a result. ”

Ahhhh…so this is really a *commercial

I think you’re right, that’s (usually) the idea, bringing joy to the neighborhood.
The issue is the assumption that a million watts of flashing lights and thousands of visitors deadlocking the neighborhood for a month each year brings joy, not rage. I think that is a mistaken assumption.

I recall one of the earlier houses like this that went viral early had years of legal battles with the neighbors because they clearly didn’t care that the neighbors hated it and were annoyed to the extreme, and just kept making it bigger despite numerous complaints.

I’m all for this in areas where everyone subjected to it (and the huge crowds it brings) first signs off giving permission….permission they can revoke…with laws/rules requiring it be taken down at the first neighborhood complaint.
