Dubstep: A Summary
That. Is. Awesome.
(And by 'That' I mean the incredibly well done mimic and not the song. That song is the perfect example of why dubstep is considered bad music by many. A continually repeated hip-hop beat with some semi-rhythmic screeches and drones overlayed (and nothing else) is the formula and makes for a very boring progression. On the other hand, the above Rusko remix is a perfect example of well-made, and very rare, dubstep. You can hear the melodic continuity from one section to the other even between sections with vastly different aesthetic feels. Please, all you dubstep producers out there, try. (: )
Jefferson Memorial Dancing on June 4 2011
>> ^dag:
The strategy of legislating the vagaries of human behaviour in minute detail is dumb, and yes bad for democracy and liberty. If people are causing a disturbance- stick with disturbing the peace.
You know, I was almost convinced by the arguments about non-public places and how the right to dance is like the right to artistically defecate in public.
Then Dag reminded me of the law against disturbing the peace.
Now, I'm not a lawyer so I don't know exactly how it currently works, but let me explain how I think it should work. If a "Peace Officer" is making his rounds through a public place, and somebody is making a spectacle and obviously harassing others in the area, then that person should be warned and potentially arrested. This would include the extreme examples of defecating in public and indecent exposure, and more moderate and disputable examples like dancing at a memorial. Those people would then be tried before a jury of peers, who would make the judgement call. Was the disturbance large enough to warrant being arrested in order to stop it? If so, then the person would be found guilty. And if the police had arrested people for silently swaying in a rhythmic manner, then perhaps the jury could find them innocent, which might leave the police open to a counter-suit. That way the police would also have to make a judgement call instead of following some absurd zero tolerance policy.
So there you have it. I don't think those laws should try to enforce a "tranquil atmosphere for solemn reflection", I think that juries should decide what is acceptable behavior under a given circumstance.
In this system, there would still be penalties for breaking the bounds of common decency, but also some wiggle room for common sense to survive.
Police State: Arrested For Dancing in the Jefferson Memorial
Lol QM!
So some public prosecutor is going to be arguing, on your tax dollar, at massive expense at the supreme court if necessary, the difference between hugging and dancing! (In the case of the couple). Don't think that's insanely childish and absurd?
dancing(Verb)
1. Move rhythmically to music, typically following a set sequence of steps.
2. Perform (a particular dance or a role in a ballet).
No music therefore they will fail, and a wrongful arrest claim will follow, followed by a payout, again of your money.
The whole episode will in retrospect be a very expensive, bloody minded excuse for a guy in a bicycle helmet to get his jollies. And I do mean expensive, like maybe 20 cops annual salaries for starters. Potentially way more if anyone got injured as it becomes a constitutional issue -because trust me the SC won't rule against Jefferson in his own memorial.

Panda Bear's amazing new video "Alsatian Darn"
"Noah Benjamin Lennox[2] (born July 17,[1] 1978 in Baltimore, Maryland) also known as Panda Bear, is an experimental musician and a founding member of Animal Collective."
Animal Collective were wildy successful in 2009 - Merriweather Post Pavilion was one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2009. Even, Spin selected it as the best album of 2009. Panda Bear's last album "Person Pitch" was named by Pitchfork Media to be the top album of 2007[17] and placed it 9th on the Top 200 Albums of The Decade.
They innovated experimental music with using samplers to create strange rhythmic pop songs. I calmly resent that question because all of you should be at least trying to listen to new and innovative music if you're into music. If you're into music you should try to not be closed-minded... at all. I know it's difficult but if there is a genre or field of music someone has done that style well enough for me to enjoy. For me to resolve this question with - didn't you know Animal Collective's album was the best album of the entire year?! PSHHH... is ridiculous. Bottom-line - listen to music and don't worry about whether you should care or not, just listen and have a good time.

Who's Panda Bear?
... and why should we care/take interest?
Not meant as a Troll, I've just never heard of Panda Bear - ever, in any-way, or at any-time as an artist or otherwise.
I could be out of touch, but maybe a better description is required here.
Molly Performs the Bubble Wrap
She's cute, but I can't upvote because it was so rhythmically wrong that it was uncomfortable to listen to. If I wanted to feel uncomfortable while looking at pretty girls I'd look at porn on my iphone on the bus.
