Mid-Air Collision of RC Plane and RC Helicopter
I kind of disagree. Those stunt helos can accelerate to a blur and then make a complete dead stop in a fraction of a second. Given the usual "he who is less maneuverable has right of way" rule of thumb for everything not on wheels, I'd say the helo is at fault. Works for sail boats up to oil tankers...

This is why you fly with a spotter. This is also why most fields have different areas for Heli's and Airplanes. Watching it I actually think this is the airplane pilots fault. He's calling low pass, but he knows there is a helicopter on the field. Calling low pass doesn't mean that you automatically get to come roaring down the center line. Especially if there is a helicopter, which doesn't and can not clear the runway like an airplane. The heli has just as much right to the airspace as the airplane. And that whirly bird is closer to $500 and the plane is about $2000 with the gear in it. Most likely most of the gear survived (Too bad he hit pavement), Fuji's are built like bricks.

Oil Spokesperson plays "Spin the question!"
The $5.5-billion Enbridge pipeline project is all about sending Alberta bitumen in huge oil tankers to China. Beijing’s own state enterprises are among the project’s major backers, and Beijing has been buying up Alberta’s oilpatch at such a dizzying pace lately it’s hard to keep up. In the spring of 2010, China’s state-owned Sinopec Corp. took a $4.65-billion piece of Syncrude. Then the China Investment Corporation, which is run by the Chinese Communist Party, took possession of a $1.25-billon share of Penn West Petroleum. Last summer, the Chinese National Offshore Oil Corporation gobbled up Opti Canada for $2.34 billion. And so on.
Then, last month, Sinopec spent $2.2-billion to take over Daylight Energy Ltd., and last week, Petro-China, with the final push of $1.9 billion, became the owner and manager of the MacKay River oilsands project. This is what Ottawa doesn’t want you noticing.

It turns out that two can play this sort of game. B.C.’s environmentalists are now making great sport of it, pointing out that Ottawa’s “ethical oil” branding exercise was begun by Conservative party gadfly Ezra Levant, who was succeeded at the Ethical Oil institute by none other than the otherwise intelligent Alykhan Velshi, who parked himself there between his term with Immigration Minister Jason Kenney and his new job in Stephen Harper’s office. Bonus points: Ethical Oil dial-a-quote Kathryn Marshall is married to Hamish Marshall, Harper’s former strategic planning manager.
While it’s all good fun to play Spot the Freemason, something very serious is going on here. Last summer, John Bruk, the Asia Pacific Foundation’s founding president, warned that Ottawa was ignoring the rapid emergence of Chinese government interests “in sheep’s clothing” taking over Canada’s natural resource industries. Bruk told B.C. Business magazine: “Are we jeopardizing prosperity for our children and grandchildren while putting at risk our economic independence? In my view, this is exactly what is happening.”

Big breasted girl on The Dating Game likes showing them off!
Motorboating that would sound like an oil tanker.
Iran has Flying Boats.
Currently Iran's only defense is the thread of "blocking Strait of Hormuz" so that oil tankers can't leave the persian gulf. They can't block the tankers thru air because of superior aviation technology on the other side, so they are exploring other options.
This is purely for defensive purposes, so that US/Israel would face real consequences, if they decide to attack Iran.

What actual tactical advantage does a craft such as this bring to the table?
Top Gear - 1970s American Cars
so true

Every American car that is, some European cars where good, well better, comparatively, at least they didn't drive like an leaking oil tanker on stilts with a drunk captain and an insane helmsman.

I guess I have higher standards than you.

A Bold Plan for Electric Cars
Very close to the lecture he gave at MIT, which is also sifted somewhere here.
I truly believe this is the only way to make it past the next 10 years, since while everyone knows the oil reserves are running out, while oil demand goes up, no one actually talks about it... Cars can't swap to electric, or even Hydrogen overnight. It's sort of like an oil tanker....
Edit - Found it: http://www.videosift.com/video/Who-revived-the-electric-car
Same gist in the lecture. You can tell that when he's in MIT he's talking to engineers...
The Escapist visit Epic, interviews Cliff Bleszinski
Whatever they say it's going to be simply more muscle-bound nonsense. I liked some of the gameplay in Gears but it felt like you were controlling an oil tanker when you got up close with an opponent. Definitely won't be buying the sequel.
There's so much that can be done with storytelling in games but it simply isn't happening yet. Right now Mirrors Edge looks like something new in the world of first-person games and there's a forthcoming PS3 game that has multiple outcomes within a strongly driven narrative though I can't remember the name.
Penn & Teller: Bullshit! "Being Green" Pt.1
>> ^Farhad2000:
I think the problem with environmentalism is that it focuses too much on personal carbon foot prints when its really the heavy industry and chemical plants that should be curbing emissions.
I mean I thought it was funny when Al Gore made it seem like everyone driving a car is to blame but not big business.
I live in the Persian gulf and I see oil tankers empty low level tanks when taking in new fuel, the water here comes in desalinated from the sea but not all of it, there's nothing like pulling out a water filter thats made of solid oil from my water tank.
thats pretty much what I was saying. We should really be worrying about all the tons of arsenic, lead, mercury and other heavy metals we put into our lungs.

Paul's Mesage to Obama
you need so much fucking change, you are never going to get it.
you need such a radical 180 degree about turn, you're never going to do it.
currently turning the oil tanker around, gonna crash into the rocks in about 45 minutes, regardless of who is at the wheel or which direction they turn it.
which politician is going to be the first to say "our economy is fucked, and i am the guy to start the incredibly painful reform so we can fix it properly instead of postponing the truth for another 5 years!!!".
Did they do that in the soviet union? naahhh. just waited for the crash.
seems like we elect politicians to lie to us. we don't want the truth.
