Like, THIS monstrosity is a photoshop filter that was included back in 97 and no one used it because it was so ugly.

Back in 92 you could get away with this effect if you where a grunge alternative band on a low budget who needed something rough and unpolished for MTV.

That was awesome. Proof that not all *grindhouse cinema is bad. Sure, it's low-budget. But who hasn't seen a big-budget movie that didn't suck bug hairy donkey balls?

This is an excellent explanation of why Online Movements and communities work, and why Ad Agencies who try to imitate viral or community success don't.

For year's i've worked with Agencies who want to build a community around their brand. They want websites and forums and viral videos and low budget flash games. And if there's a prize they may get a few hundred people.... but despite 'building it', they never get the response they expect.

The reason neatly explained in this video: They are always trying to build a community from people with nothing in common. Rather than facilitating a community that already exists - and just needs the outlet and tools to tell their story.

They were able to create this on a low budget because every scene was filmed in the same one cube, even though the movie portrays them as hundreds of cubes in one giant 3D Cube Maze.

Each cube has six sides, one door on each side..., each door leads to the next cube, you never know what is waiting in the next cube..., which one will you go through?

Because it makes you so damn happy! It's a cute little tune that flows over with happy vibes and charmingly naïve life philosophy. The music video is a funny low-budget animation, and underscores the themes of the music in a brilliant way. Besides, it was the first video I ever posted, back in my probie days, and I had a hell of a time trying to get it sifted. I therefore have a special connection to it, and I get a little surprised every time I realize it actually is in my sifted list.

The flash animation series Ninjai is really a gem on the internet. It pushes boundaries for flash animation as an art form. It is brutal and beatiful at the same time, with both gory action sequences and stunningly gorgeous camera angles. This first episode sets the tone perfectly for the rest of the series.

I just hope that with this new air-time, he's not going to be pressured to be a bit more conservative, by any means. Some of the charm that his show had was that it was so low-budget, and he constantly made fun of himself for having "no viewers". I'm hoping that his format is the same.

i getcha so it's just got a video function like every other digital stills camera but it's the first that does full HD? i mean it looks lovely...
i do low budget stop motion with stills cameras, which gets really nice quality without an expensive video camera, and i was just thinking that's what this video was going to be, so i got confused when it wasn't.

yup! its seriously one of the best low budget films, I think it ties with El Mariachi (listen to the commentary by Robert Rodriguez on the El Mariachi dvd, its basically a how-to of no money film making, its great!) I saw Dead Alive before I saw Bad Taste, so it holds a special place just above this film, but they are close! I still can't keep laughing about the cardboard Beatles cutouts and the skull flap! This movie has some great scenes in it! I think the only PJ film I am not excited about pre-lotr was The Frighteners.

I looked it up and from what it looks like, they're either not using maggot therapy or they're doing it to the extreme. To me the infection looks like it's an accident because of all the blood that's there, it looks pretty crusty and dry and the amount of maggots seems a bit big.. I watched a video of a guy getting treatment. It didn't look like this at all, it was only a select few maggots. Might be because of the location, or the severity of the wound- could be a big emergency on a low budget? I dunno. Just looks a bit extreme to be on purpose for me. Hopefully it is treatment though.. It's so disgusting to think of those hatching.. *flaps arms all girly like*
