Minecraft Is Just Awesome
>> ^blankfist:
Someone explain to me what it is about this game that makes it so awesome! Seriously, I want to be part of teh aweshum, toos!
Think of it as a whole world made out of Lego bricks, you can remove or add to every block in the landscape.
Then add the fact that some blocks are defined as wood, some as stone, some as ore, and you can use these to make tools and weapons.
You need these tools and weapons because the game has a day/night cycle and zombies and skeletons come out at night.
The world is procedurally generated, almost infinite in size, and full of underground caverns full of ore and more monsters.
The graphics aren't anything special and there's no storyline or missions, but the possibilities for emergent gameplay are almost limitless.
Edit: For surviving the first 10 minutes of gameplay:

Duh! I was kinda thinking about the reaction when this shows up fully assembled on an X-ray>> ^heathen:

OK. Who wants to be first to try and board a plane with this in their carry on?
Would be pretty easy, disassembled, just some Lego bricks and elastic bands.
In that case, no chance. These days a picture of a gun on your T-shirt is enough to stop you boarding a flight.

but that's not surprising as the whole country is made of Alps.
Watching this video, I could have sworn the whole country was made of LEGO bricks.

I'll have to show this to my son, whom I believe owns one out of every two Lego bricks to ever come out of Denmark.
