Before Occupy Wall Street, There Was Occupy Kent State
by accident, @marinara?
How do you accidentally open fire on protestors?
This is an excellent article on the events:
New Kent State Video Evidence Points Towards FBI Provocateuring
The word “Guard!” can be heard around 11 seconds. “All right, prepare to fire” begins at around 20.5 seconds. “Get down!” is spoken at 23 seconds. The final “Guard!” is at about 25 seconds, and the gunshots begin at 27.5 seconds.
The order to fire directly contradicts claims from guard commanders who testified that there was no order to fire and that troops unloaded their weapons only after receiving incoming sniper fire.
The tape was given to Yale in 1979 for its Kent State archives by an attorney who represented students in a lawsuit filed against the state over the shooting. It was originally recorded by a student named Terry Strubbe who put a microphone at the window of his dorm, which overlooked the rally.
Subsequent analysis of the tape also uncovered an altercation and four pistol shots a little over one minute prior to the Guard gunfire. It is believed that the shots came from Terry Norman, who was at the time believed to have been an FBI informant.
Despite attempts by Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich to pave the way for a new federal investigation, the evidence has remained largely ignored.
First Public Performance of Rage Against The Machine
>> ^shagen454:
Its strange to think that the term RATM was first purposed by a guy named Kent McClard of Ebullition Records. Back then Ebullition was one of the most underground, innovative and radical hardcore labels in th world. I guess Kent proposed the name for an Inside Out album to be released on Ebullition... Which seems strange since Ebullition and their bands were way more politically radical than Inside Out or RATM.
Dont know what the story is with this being a whole album performed live for a first show but maybe the band had be playing for a while and waiting for the right vocalist who happened to have a good band name in mind?
If I remember my RAGE history, Morello (lead guitar) founded the band with Zack (singer), they were the first two members.

Fox News Spins Pepper Spray: it's a spicy food product
Pepper spray doesn't work? Lay on hands. Hands don't work? Water cannon. Water cannon doesn't work? Rubber bullets. Rubber bullets don't work? Kent State!
I have no political agenda. My concern is that if peaceful protests are not allowed, the situation escalates. If protestors are orderly and peaceful, not blocking access, and are no threat, then leave them alone it's their right.

I have the eerie sense another Boston Massacre is around the corner.
I was thinking more Kent State.
Yogi (Member Profile)
I think things are fundamentally different now. Police have learned new tactics. I don't think a Kent State will happen.
Besides, we have mini-Kent States all the time with the stupid war on drugs. But because those people aren't "innocent", nobody seems to care.
In reply to this comment by Yogi:
My question is...is this like the 1960s? Do we need a Kent State? I hope not.
Another Anthem for Occupy-there's something happening here

And it was like Vooom!, reality hits you hard, bro!
And there you have it. Back to you, Kent.
Ron Paul's Campaign Mgr Died Uninsured w/Huge Medical Debt
First, a man died for what he believed in. That omission doesn't really do him justice. He was uninsured, his choice, and good people came through for him. As though standing up for those beliefs is a tragedy.
His opinion is *deceptive. It suggests a tragedy. This is lying through deception. God bless Kent Snyder, who this guy takes a shit on.
*Omission. Like @aurens said, not putting the whole context was awfully convenient. "He (Kent Synder) would have died, to be fair, in a church." Excuse me? Did he watch the debate? Ron Paul said nothing of the sort. This is the equal of conservatives spouting off their rhetoric of Death Panels; in every way shape and form. Since you just watched my video, you should darn well know that this guy is lying through his teeth. RON PAUL NOTED THAT HE NEVER TURNED AWAY ANYONE AS A PHYSICIAN, AND HE EXPECTS SOCIETY TO DO THE SAME. (I capitalize that because I feel strongly about it. Not because I am yelling at you.) Hell, that is part of the oaths doctors must swear to.
"Pay your bills upfront," at 3:21?! Wtf does that have to do with anything? It's called debt, if you can't afford it right away. Or is that not an option? And, debt can always be negotiated by the hospitals anyways. *Deceptive
"I hope all that money was raised." Really? You mean you have no fucking clue? Honestly? You just pop off at the mouth like Rush Lim-fat?
You may feel these points invalid, but then that isn't really an option. Just because he tells *you the truth, doesn't mean he isn't spouting out shit the rest of us. There is a saying in the courts, "The truth (Meaning, don't lie,) the Whole Truth (Don't omit,) and nothing but the truth (Don't add details that have nothing to do with the case.)
I am not writing this to debate these points so please don't. I respect you the same way. Also, I would like to note when you were disingenuous with no "articulation" when you called my video a near dupe of another. One vid, which you liked, made it seem like Ron Paul was a bastard that wants people to die (Just like this guy.) My video explained his context further and put him in a much better light, which was the opposite of the other video.
I voted for this video only to point out what a liar this guy is--I don't wish to regret it.

lies through omission, a lot of omission.
Took that channel off. You wanna slap lies on it, at least articulate what the lie is.
Was there a salient, knowable detail he left out that would have repudiated what he said? If so, what was it? And do you have a source to back it up?
Maybe what you're looking for is controversy?
Ron Paul's Campaign Mgr Died Uninsured w/Huge Medical Debt
So it is safe to say society failed this man... And, this man failed himself? Perhaps, if he chose to save a few dollars over his fortune... Not to mention, would Kent have died with insurance? (I mean he was in the hospital being treated.)
And he seems to forget that Ron Paul advocates treating people at hospitals--not just churches. Churches are for raising money.

Of course, watching an atheist angered by a lack of morality in the populace is hilarious. People didn't regularly act this way 40 years ago. What changed?
Not everyone proclaiming to be a Christian follows Thou shalt not steal all the time, but more of them have values than the ones raised with....NOTHING.
So what's the reason that all these god-fearing, morally-informed-with-superior-'Christian'-values people engaged in riots? Ummm... maybe it is because the proximate causes of a riot are based on economic and societal conditions and not prevented by a 2000 year old book. Also worth noting in the list is included Bloody Sunday, which, if I remember correctly, was part of a conflict based on rival gangs within your beloved Christianity kicking the shit out of each other.
Darwins Dilemma - The Mystery of the Cambrian Fossil Record
The people who don't want to hear this are the people who have made up their minds that they are responsible only to themselves. The idea of a higher power offends their selfish ideals. If you think you can stand on your own merits before a Holy God, feel free.

Since your video has only 43 views and not a single vote, I'll just assume it's you and I talking here. Nobody can really untangle the mess of religiously-motivated psuedo-scientific conspiracy theories you subscribe to for you, least of all me. When you get all your information from Ray Comfort, Kent Hovind, the Discovery Institute and silly little videos like these it's no wonder you believe so much crap.
If these guys are so confident evolution is a lie and Jesus is the answer why don't they do the research, publish peer reviewed articles and step up to accept their Nobel prizes in Physics, Chemistry and Biology? What's that? Because they have no evidence, can't compete in the scientific arena and must resort to convincing unscientific plebs evolution is an ivory tower conspiracy set against Jesus? Spot on.
For the third time, do you wonder why thinking people don't want to hear this?
