Man of Steel - Teaser Trailer
>> ^kymbos:
@Deano, agree it was the best, but that doesn't say much. And still there's the whole 'wearing glasses - Clark Kent, no glasses - Superman' silliness.
I saw a great idea for Superman written somewhere. Maybe Reddit. I've googled it and can't find it. It's something like Superman is around in the 1940s, but Lex Luthor puts him into stasis until around now. In the meantime, Luthor builds a mighty media conglomerate and slowly convinces humanity that Superman wasn't a hero, but in fact was evil. When Superman re-emerges, the world sees him as a massive terrorist and loathes him. He has to overcome the distorted power of modern media and a malleable, ignorant populace to defeat his enemy.
Something like that. Not my idea, but a great way to modernise the story a little.
That idea sounds a bit weak to me. He'd only need to get a good PR firm and a twitter account and he'd be sorted!

Wallaby (Native Of Australia) Spotted In Field In Kent (U.K)
Cocaine is a hell of a drug!
>> ^bareboards2:
This is an absolute true story --
My friend was driving me back from the airport about 10 pm. Dark country road in rural Washington State. Olympic Peninsula.
And we both saw a kangaroo jump in front of the car. A kangaroo. In rural Washington State.
Blew our minds.
Granted, it turned out to be an owl who was swooping down in front of the car and changed its mind as we barreled down the road, but we both saw a kangaroo. (I was sitting in the front seat, feeling a proper idiot for thinking a KANGAROO jumped in front of the car. But it was too funny to pass on exposing my own absurdity. So I said to her -- you will NEVER BELIEVE what I thought that was at first. She didn't miss a beat, she answered matter of factly and with great assurance. "A kangaroo." Dang, the human mind.)
You know I am sharing this video with her.

Apparently the wallaby is called Wesley, who escaped from a farm in 2004 and has been hopping around the nearby countryside ever since. Back in 2009 in the village of Pluckley nearby where this was filmed there was a sighting of a wallaby going over the zebra crossing - that must have looked pretty surreal! This BBC News article describes one family buying wallabies to help trim the garden, got to feel sorry for their postman...

wallabys have huge front claws.I think you mean rear claws.
Both Kangaroos and Wallabies when provoked will lean back on their tails and kick at the stomachs of their attacker with powerful kicks. The intention being disembowelment. With some species reaching 3 metres in height, they are not to be approached lightly in the wild.
Fuck YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want one for my BADGER cage. MORTAL COMBAT!!!!

A cornered wallaby can kill a dog, and even though that dog is probably almost big enough to be safe, the vet bill would not be pleasant.>> ^Yogi:
I like her panicked reining in of her dog that was about to chase the wallaby down and sniff it to death.
Any cornered wallaby can kill any dog? Or has this happened like two times before?

Usually a large dog will kill the wallaby, and the owner probably wouldn't have wanted that either.
If it's only ever happened twice, then my Dad must know the two unluckiest former dog owners in the world, but I can't provide numbers. The dogs involved were border collie sized, so a bit smaller than the one in this vid, and their end was due to being disemboweled (same as with kangaroos).
p.s. Oops, didn't mean to put the reply here... oh well, too late now.

Christians Celebrate Gay Marriage Ban
Dear Dr. Laura,
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.
When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?
Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die?
I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev.24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev.20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.
Your devoted disciple and adoring fan,
J. Kent Ashcraft

I hadn't noticed that about this video.
Hey cab, how many votes did this have when you promoted it?

Tangentially, is this the first time a video has transitioned from being personal queued to #1?
Seems like the best example of why the queue exists and maybe the best self-promote ever.
