UFC 121: Brock Lesnar vs Cain Velasquez

GenjiKilpatrick says...

I miss Pride even with all it's head stomping douchery.

WEC is good cause their fights are more technical .

Lighter weight classes means a smaller portion are heavy handed.

Carlos Condit is on this card too. He's was a WEC badass that switched to UFC cause he's REEALLY good at beatin' people up.

Tho yeah, the only unorthodox fighters in the UFC are Lyoto Machida and Anderson Silva really.

Oh well, UFC became all about the revenue as soon as Dana White took over.
You can't really expect a whole lot after that.. = p

I guess I wish there was more judo in MMA in general. That's rather fun to watch. =]

The part where the guy got body slammed?
He never took a judo class. If you are about to get picked up, you release the grip of your legs this way the guy picking you up has all your weight.
He basically assisted in his own body slam, buy holding on.

The problem with your theory is that you're not fighting Rampage. The strength and speed with which Rampage slammed Arona gives you very little time to react and untangle your legs from the triangle.

Of course mma standup isn't at the level of boxing. Boxing is all standup.
Mixed martial arts is every other martial art style you can think of.

If you can't see that then you're not as smart as you'd like yourself to believe, with your crabby panties-in-a-bunch attitude. =]

A boxing round is 3 mins of standup hugging.
36 mins of dancing in boxing boots like an Acme cartoon.

MMA rounds are 5 mins of defending takedowns, submissions, head kicks, leg kicks, judo throws .. and strikes.
A MMA title fight is 5 rounds. That's 25 mins of working every muscle in your body.

If you aren't able to understand that about MMA you don't even know what you're talking about. [Which is already quite apparent]

I don't think you can appreciate all the disciplines of Mixed Martial Arts because you're sitting here complaining about heavyweights and how they aren't amazing conventional boxers.

P.S. - Fedor Emelianenko lost finally. Not due to great standup but by double submission: Armbar Triangle Choke.

My point is: of course MMA standup is sloppy. You have four or five other modes of attack you have to calculate and defend against.

The standup talent isn't anywhere near the level of boxing. Is all i'm going to say and if you can't see that then your not as smart as you would like people to believe, with your pompus arrogant attitude.

the reason they were throwing haymakers was because they had to fight A 10 round match, (something mma athletes are not physiclly capable of)they were completly exhausted

...if you weren't able to understand that about fighting/boxing then i really don't know why i'm wasting my time, because you don't even know what your talking about.

mma is a good sport. I can appreciate all of the disciplines, my favorite fighter is emilionenko-- i'm not spell checking that name--, and my favorite style is sambo, it's far and away the best fighting discipline.

My point is mma needs to step up it's standup game it's sloppy.

Two WORST Martial Arts Techniques Ever!

that block is karate's answer to pretty much every single attack thrown at you.

Yea, karate is silly, such a block is only good for strikes that comes straight towards you, a baseball bat that comes in from the side is a whole other thing, since i have a blue belt in judo i would probably go in close and throw him to the ground by using his swinging motion against him.
Or block block it by basically grabbing his hands and then try to take his bat so i can do a bit of swinging hoping he learned the bad technique.

And the gun thing, if they get that close the best way is to get closer while pushing the gun away, preferably before the gun is pointing at you (which is really the best trick in martial arts, doing stuff to them before they do stuff to you).

Black belt karate kid 8 year old mark garry

TheFreak says...

Whatever. I could take him.

This is obvious proof of how the US accels above all other western countries in the martial arts. We have thousands of 8 year old black belts all over the country. You can find them in practically any strip-mall. We have 8yo Ninja black belts, 8yo Kung Fu black belts, 8yo TKD black blets, 8yo Judo black belts... Why, you practically can't walk anywhere near a strip mall without stepping on an 8 year old black belt.

Makes me wonder why I've studied all these years to get my San Dan when I could have just gone to a strip mall when I was 8 and gotten a black belt with a side of french fries. And you know those kids are legit because by the time they're 18 they'll have promoted themselves to 10th Dan and started their own martial art form complete with shoulder patches with tigers on them.

Caspian Airlines Plane Crash in Iran

vairetube says...

TEHERAN - AN IRANIAN airliner crashed into farmland in the north-west of the country on Wednesday, killing all 168 people on board, state media reported. Witnesses said the plane exploded after it dropped out of the sky, and state TV footage showed a deep crater littered with smoking wreckage and debris, including a large chunk of a wing.

The Caspian Airlines' Russian TU-154 plane crashed near the city of Qazvin, about 120km north-west of the capital, shortly after takeoff from Teheran's Imam Khomeini international airport.

Those on board
AMONG those on board the plane were about 25 Armenians, according to an airline representative in Yerevan, while Iranian officials said they included 10 members of Iran's junior national judo team.
