To A Childs Delight, George Lucas Says Jedis Can Get Married
They went over this in Episode 3 quite a lot. It was the reason Anakin turned to the dark side...the fear of the loss of his love. It may not be explicitly forbidden, but it's certainly discouraged and frowned upon. While telling the child he could get married as a Jedi was a sweet thought, it's not really being honest.
I found it insane that 'low income' was anyone making under $72K per year!
It really does sound like the housing project is a slap back at his neighbors for not letting him expand his studio. Where his ranch is, there are no services, no stores, and probably no busses. I went there in the early 90's, and it was not near town at all. Today it's nearly a gated community in the hills with multi to hundreds of million dollar homes. It's a nice thought, and I hope it does help some people who are struggling, but purchasing land in or near town to build it really seems more reasonable and helpful to those really in need, like people living on or near minimum wage in the bay area. Those people won't be able to live in these low income homes, because they won't be able to get to work reasonably from there unless they're doing something about that problem too.
Wow, this George guy is pretty cool when he's not ruining my childhood!
Here's other cool things he's been doing with his spare time now that he isn't writing and directing what would certainly be crappy sequels to the Star Wars franchise.

To A Childs Delight, George Lucas Says Jedis Can Get Married
Jedi aren't allowed to fall in love...so married is kind of out of the question. EDIT: Unless we're talking loveless marriage, like one of convenience or to gain citizenship for someone, that might be acceptable. ;-)
Loving/putting a single individual over everything else is a path to the dark side.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Official Teaser #2
What's left of the child that I once was, rooted heavily in Spielberg and Lucas nonsense, emaciated and beaten with wire hangers, what's left of that child just let out a great weep of joy --
And was suddenly silenced, because of the emotional abuse that child had received at the hands of the very creators...
And I still don't forgive JJ for Lost... nor Super 8, which should have celebrated that child within, it was a poor imitation of this child of the '80s experience. It was lacking in authenticity. Almost. But no.
The important thing here is that Lawrence Kasdan is one of the screenwriters. His involvement makes this project legit, and he's working on a stand alone star wars screenplay. Though I haven't read much into it, it's likely the Han Solo film. Kasdan was a screenwriter for Empire, Jedi, and Raiders of the LA. That's what gets me excited despite my south park like reaction to the raping of Harrison Ford. Kasdan won't rape Ford... no, he couldn't!
I was a massive SW fan. I was one of the last people to admit that the prequels were terrible. I kept lying to myself that they were good.
Also, I am on record as hating JJ Abhrams... especially the 2 new Star Treks. So I wasn't happy at all when he got this gig.
So I kinda want to hate this. I've been disappointed before, and I want to get my scorn in early.
But I just can't.
THAT TRAILER IS GODDAMN AWESOME.
And when Han and Chewie appeared, I nearly shed a tear. I really hope the movie is *quality.
star wars prequel-nostalgia critic gets owned by Mr plinkett
I must be the only one who found both of these people to be kind of annoying, in one corner we have Cynical Nerd and in the other we have Upbeat Nerd, what better pairing for a YouTube deathmatch.
I thought the lightsaber fights in both trilogies were fine, they were just following different models, I thought the acrobatics of the newer films was fun to watch. And why bother making everyone pretend that they're swinging around claymores when both the film makers and the audience know those energy blades probably weigh next to nothing?
I always kind of assumed the wooden acting (especially with the Jedi) came from Luca's directing, I imagine he was shooting for a kind of Zen sense of cool but didn't manage to find the right balance.
And I'll never understand why some people hate CG so much, it's a tool that can be used well or poorly, just like models and miniatures and fully built sets. But from the way some people talk about it you'd think life before CG was all some kind of golden age where everything was perfect.

Couldn't agree more on the lightsaber fights.
I think it was Lucas himself who asked that the lightsaber should be moved as if it had real weight even though it was made of, well, light. I think the fact the actors appear to have to exert themselves to throw and parry blows makes the whole thing seem more intense despite the slower pace of the fight. Vader crumbles under the shear force of the enraged Luke's blows - does anybody ever get overpowered in this manner in the prequels? I understand this logic that Jedi at the height of the Republic would be more skilled with a blade, but it results in two characters flailing around striking the air in front of their opponent with blows that appear to have no force behind them at all.
Colbert Reacts to Star Wars New Lightsaber Controversy
I always thought the aperatures were made of plasma-resistant material since they're in contact with the main blade, that had some reason, too rare or some thermal issue that stopped people from making their entire saber out of it.
Besides, you would think a Sith Lord could twist his hand so that the Jedi's blade hit the plasma before it touched the aperture. Plus, the "hilt blades" come into play whenever you have that trope where the dualists lock blades and push together, allowing use as a weapon.
Mr. Plinkett Reacts to the Star Wars: Force Awakens Trailer
"Executive Order 67 was a proclamation signed by Chief of State Deelor Noedeel which ordered the Third Jedi Order to pursue diplomatic relations with the New Sith Order. "
Wow, for years I was under the misapprehension that it was Order 67 that stopped the production of clones. Thanks ParsleySagemind.

Star Wars Battlefront : Official Trailer
Yeah I was a big fan of the Battlefield series up till about 2142....then it just kinda fell off for me.
Battlefront never really appealed, it always felt off... Not like many of the other games where you played jedi and could really do some interesting stuff.

Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trailer
I'm sorry but the first movie is a feat of amazing proportions. It was dark and awesome with cool setting and art direction, filmed like a serious movie and it's soundtrack was AMAZINGLY corny to be put with that dark backdrop. I mean come on Sam Rockwell is in it as a little thug, that's amazing.
I still watch the first one to this day and it was the only movie poster I've ever had on my wall, I loved that movie more than any other as a kid. Multiple viewings over the years haven't disappointed me or spoiled me on it unlike nearly every movie including Return of the Jedi and Indiana Jones Temple of Doom. April quietly monologuing while she draws these awesome pictures of the Turtles, it's incredible what comic book movie has the balls to do that?
The suits make that movie for me though, they work sooo freaking well. It's just the best, everything about it makes me love it.
Two words: Vanilla Ice.
How much worse could it be? Well, okay, the first one was alright. It would be cool if they went further back to their roots and they were more like real teenagers instead of a middle-aged focus group's opinion of what adolescents associate with being a teenager. Hint: it's beer, not pizza.
edit: Full disclosure, when I was 12, I waited in line for an hour to get tickets when the first TMNT movie opened.
