i at least, will self terminate should it become more clear that we are the only problem here. kinda hoping to see humans get a foot on interstellar travel though so i know the story doesnt end like it seems its going to -- with all our deaths and the end of our species

With the exception of most of the early stuff with Syd Barrett, "Animals" was always my favorite Pink Floyd album. (Seriously, it just doesn't get any better than "Interstellar Overdrive".)

For this whole video he speaks as if Voyager II is not doing anything. They Both are still functional and--although Voyager II is on a different path--they are both examining the heliosphere and they will both continue into interstellar space for billions of years.


Like finding the "edge" of the heliosphere, no small feat. Even though neither are the most advanced tech we have nowadays, they're gonna find out first!

Man, you guys are jerks. I would have so much fun with her; she is a rare breed... she is a real life Madlib; lets get high and babble baby; lets talk about feminism I know that would be an interesting interstellar topic.

Thing is, to get to these planets we'd need to develop ftl travel or wait a really long time, and I'm not sure giving more money to NASA would necessarily accelerate that process much. Still, there is enough exploring to do in our own solar system for the moment. Mars, the moons of Saturn etc. But hey, fund Nasa, get more people doing Science and exploring not just the stars and distant planets, but also our own and maybe one of them will stumble on a way to bend the laws of the universe. Maybe.

Some day I think it would be amazing to not only be able to point at a several planets that could support life, but also to send a interstellar message in a bottle, perhaps even try to seed life on them.
