The law in Indiana is meant to keep gay people from suing those who refuse to participate in their ceremonies. The point of my comment, which you fail to comprehend, is that it also protects you from lunatics like those from the WBC.

Certainly seems to be one of those rare films that completely stands up over time. Many of my favorites from the 80s are a bit hokey now, but not BttF. For me it's up there with Ghostbusters and the Indiana Jones movies in capturing the cinematic best from that time.

While I find it entertaining and hilarious, this is simply horrible strawmanning. The US has one of the simplest systems of inclusion of any major nation. He either is not understanding, or he's simply being a demagogue about it.

Want full rights? Then join permanently. Become a state. It's literally the exact same thing that Tennessee, Ohio, Louisiana, Indiana, Mississippi, Illinois, Alabama, Missouri, Arkansas, Michigan, Florida, Iowa, Wisconsin, California, Minnesota, Oregon, Kansas, Nevada, Nebraska, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Alaska, and Hawaii did.

Guam, the Marianas, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands have the EXACT SAME OPTIONS as those states listed above had when those states were territories.

Samoa is different because they don't meet the minimum population requirement (60K) to be bumped up to qualify for statehood.

They're pretty close tho.

But yeah... it has nothing to do with race or bigotry or anything like that. If John Oliver can't understand that simple system, then how does he explain the different rights of citizens in the British Overseas Territories vs the British Crown Dependencies, or how Wales and Scotland are sort of countries and sort of not countries.

I'm assuming he can understand the wonky UK system, and if that's so, he should easily understand the simple US system (want full rights, vote to join permanently).

Just last year, there was a movement in Guam to call for a vote of statehood. Basically a glorified (but meaningful) petition. They didn't get the required % of people wanting to vote, so, in essence, Guam doesn't even care enough to vote for statehood.

They have every right that every other territory has had in terms of what category they fall under.

Basically, just look at states as permanent (and thusly more rights as well as more responsibilities) and territories as temporary until they decide what they want to be. Or territories can stay in limbo forever.

Guam, PR, and the rest can go the route of Hawaii (okay, that was naked imperialism but whatever) or the route of Cuba and the Philippines... or just stay how they are.

Indiana Jones episode???

Lego is just another corporation making money. Why is a relationship with Shell any different than their other corporate relationships? (The Simpsons, Ghostbusters, Star Wars, The Hobbit, DC Comics, Disney, Marvel, Indiana Jones etc). Because it's good publicity... people don't like "dirty" energy. Shell may be a bunch of assholes, but if you're going to slam the industry Greenpeace, make sure you don't drive a car to work, and you might want to reassess how far you look down your nose at companies like Shell when you send a pollution spewing, fuel sucking Sea Shepherd out to make a TV show, surrounded all day long by polymer materials made mostly from the gas and oil that make your life easier and less costly. Hypocritical bunch of bullying asshats that will fuck anyone over for some publicity.

Reminds me of that scene in Indiana Jones 4. Scary stuff.

Indiana University's got some splainin' to do

I'm sorry but the first movie is a feat of amazing proportions. It was dark and awesome with cool setting and art direction, filmed like a serious movie and it's soundtrack was AMAZINGLY corny to be put with that dark backdrop. I mean come on Sam Rockwell is in it as a little thug, that's amazing.

I still watch the first one to this day and it was the only movie poster I've ever had on my wall, I loved that movie more than any other as a kid. Multiple viewings over the years haven't disappointed me or spoiled me on it unlike nearly every movie including Return of the Jedi and Indiana Jones Temple of Doom. April quietly monologuing while she draws these awesome pictures of the Turtles, it's incredible what comic book movie has the balls to do that?

The suits make that movie for me though, they work sooo freaking well. It's just the best, everything about it makes me love it.

I do like that the high price is because it's high quality, unlike many designer bags that you are only paying for the name.

I recommend Chrome bags for something that is more practical. Still expensive ($100-$200), but will last forever. Most local "pro" bicycle shops carry them, if you want to check out in person. And those same shops will usually order a custom one for you at the same price as the website.

This is a resource officer, we have them here in Indiana as well. Here they only really show up at larger schools and are doing double duty as a security officer/truancy officer who also directs traffic and dismissal after school hours to ensure that students make it home safely. The schools around my area also have guidelines for students up through middle school (8th grade I believe) who do not ride a school bus. These guideline determine who can pick them up and if they can walk home. We also have rules (at my daughters school at least) that determine picking up the child at the end of the day. Nothing here says that you cant walk to get your child but that they are released in batches and you have to wait for them to be released to pick them up. All of this seems reasonable to me as i would rather have my daughters safety ensured than have something overlooked in the confusion and find out my daughter went home with a complete stranger because the school didn't follow policy. I would not want my child to go to a school that makes any effort to avoid responsibility of my child without making an effort to ensure their safety

My brother in-law grew up in southern California but has since lived in Indiana, Singapore and now Texas. Everytime he comes to visit the first nights dinner is always at the local Round Table Pizza.

I think most of the country is not as uptight about pizza as NY and Chicago are. But especially in California we just don't have rules when it comes to good pizza other than "does it taste good"?
