As US Withdraws from Afghanistan, Refugees Must Be Evacuated

newtboy says...

Nope, sorry. Another total failure of your memory.

This is Trump's retreat, negotiated by Trump with the criminal terrorists who gave up absolutely nothing to get Trump's unconditional surrender and retreat. In the process, Trump delegitimized and abandoned the legitimate Afghan government and indicated they would not be supported by the U.S. military. He also abandoned those Afghanis who risked their lives to help us, making absolutely no plans to identify or allow them to immigrate here, instead actually putting active road blocks in the way, slowing or discarding their applications, and not staffing positions required to process applications. Biden was left to facilitate the disastrous agreement Trump made when he "negotiated" (actually just capitulated) with terrorists but did not prepare for. Biden failed to fix this disastrous withdrawal Trump caused and botched, he didn't cause it.

I understand, with an IQ below 75, it's hard for you to remember who did what. Trump made this happen, bragged about it until a few weeks ago. Trump released 5000+ of the Taliban from prison then unconditionally surrendered to them last spring without consulting the Afghan government. The only concession he got was an agreement from terrorists to not attack the U.S. during the retreat until May but attacking the Afghanis was allowed...Biden got that extended through August.

Got 25th? Could you mean implement the 25th amendment? When did right wing nutjobs lose their ability to speak English?

Won't happen....if Delusional Donny wasn't demented and dementia riddled enough to remove, Biden has nothing to worry about at all. His mental state makes Trump look like a Alzheimer's patient and stroke victim who's addicted to crack. Is that why he's besties with the My Crackpipe Guy now....that's his dealer?
Are you advocating for President Harris? How about President Pelosi? Do you even realize that's what happens if Biden was removed? Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face! Lol.

You are so delusional…Trump policies lost jobs, the only president since WW2 to have lost jobs over their tenure.

When Trump took office in Jan. 2017, U.S. employment was at 145.6 million. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released its final jobs report before the Jan. 20 inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden. It shows in December there were 142.6 million employed Americans, down 3 million from Trump's own inauguration. Overall Trump had a -.5% job growth per year….absolutely disastrous….worst ever in living memory.

https://fortune.com/2021/01/11/us-economy-jobs-numbers-trump-compared-past-presidents-worst-record-since-hoover/

Please stop believing idiotic liars and grow up.

My portfolio has gone up over 25% since Biden took office, it lost around 8% in 4 years under Trump. It’s going to dip thanks to idiots ignoring public health and refusing vaccination, extending the pandemic indefinitely.

What BS. Trump years made policies that created JOBS JOBS JOBS.

Please grow up.

Look around. Growth is still going well even with Biden in office. Its starting to dip a little but will be ok until Democrat policies mess it up

Lol. Dick Tracy. I guess that’s your way of admitting I proved everything you said was dead wrong and that Trump duped you with another lie into continuing to believe the big lie, that the only way the least popular president in memory who takes absolutely no responsibility for the blood of hundreds of thousands on his hands and a crumbling economy and absolutely insane deficit and debt and the almost total division of the union lost the election was if there was massive and meaningful fraud.
I doubt it, there is no amount of proof that you’re wrong that could convince you, because the belief doesn’t stem from proof, it stems from your undying faith in the blatant baseless lies of a consistent con man.

With the courts packed like sardines with Trump judges, you somehow think liberals let people off from legitimate charges. LMFAHS! Or did Biden pardon them like Trump had to pardon most of his “best people” (now called “garbage stars”) from crimes they did for him? Don’t think so.
They were released because police arrested anyone they could grab, then made up ridiculous charges, and in court had no evidence against any of them…so they were released as the law requires….except for the white supremacist right wing terrorists caught with bombs, guns, molotovs, and terrorist manifestos, there’s plenty of evidence against them. The FBI and DOD agreed the right wing terrorists like proud boys and boogaloo boys, like those I pointed out, caused approximately half the violence at BLM protests, non protester bystanders caused one quarter, and BLM protesters caused one quarter.

Nut bag fake news….which means all true but you don’t like it, right? Not a word of it can you contradict, but your mantra, fake news, will save you from acknowledging reality, that you’re in an anti American racist terrorist cult.

Wow good going Dick Tracy.

Sadly Biden liberals let the ANTIFA and BLM terrorist out of jail with out charging so all that is nut-bag fake news twisting Anti Trump stories.

read your comments, watched the video.

video brought back a memory of a time when someone brought in their computer. apparently, this person had visited some German band's website, the band then hacked into the person's machine, and now the German musicians were spying on them. with further questioning, the band had somehow also managed to place hidden cameras inside that person's home.

I was dubious.

get the same vibe from all the data you've provided.

the difference was they asked for help, and we helped them get help. wish that for you, too.

if not, then enjoy this...

Happy 15th Birthday, VideoSift! (Sift Talk Post)

gwiz665 says...

Happy Birthday, Lads and Lasses. I have lots of memories from here, happy, sad, good, and bad. I always felt the community was what kept Videosift alive for so long and I still do.The lively discussions we used to have were always interesting. I've stepped away from the site the last years, but peek in now and then.

I wish you all well.

Before Are "Friends" Electric?

I loved "Cars" when it came out. I have a vivid memory of hearing it for the first time at a record store in the mall. I think my first New Wave (Synth-Pop) album was Freedom Of Choice from Devo. Early 80's i completely jumped in with many New Wave bands. My enjoyment of the genre faded or actually morphed into other electronic type bands soon after.

Viral How Much Did Your Divorce Cost

StukaFox says...

I don't agree with you on this one, Bob.

My wife and I have been together since 1995. In that time, we've both dealt with issues in our lives that might have lead to the deaths of either one of us had we not been together. We've been through hell and kept each other on our feet when we felt like we couldn't walk another step. We've been there for each other in the absolute worst moments of our lives.

On the other side, my favorite memories always include her: the first time we saw the Eiffel Tower together; hiking together in Henry Coe State Park; nights in Mendocino and dinners at Brouwer's. A thousand thousand little things where she's brought happiness into my life. How much joy I experience just holding her hand!

Men lose everything? Have someone look at you when you feel like absolute human shit -- like you're the tiniest speck of worthlessness in the universe -- and say "I love you." Someone who doesn't just rescue you from yourself, but lifts you up into the pure light of happiness and joy, is the absolute affirmation of goodness in the human heart.

I say this with all honesty, with no malice and no sense of superiority, just one human being to another: if something happened to you that makes you feel the way you do, if someone hurt you that bad, then I wish it were within my power to lift that from your heart and soul. No one ever deserves to have love turned to hate, least of all you.

McConnell Threatens Scorched Earth GOP Attacks Voting Rights

newtboy says...

Right now we are in that position, but it's the minority that benefits unequally. Under Republican rule, how many bills were killed by democrats threatening a filibuster? Certainly less than under Democratic rule, republicans love to kill bills so much McConnell is known as the grim reaper for killing legislation as both the majority and minority leader.
When one party, a party that has millions fewer votes for their representatives btw, has the power to stop all legislation as the majority or minority and abuses that power in a partisan way to the detriment of the nation, it makes sense to rewrite the rule changes that put us in that position.
McConnell has threatened exactly that, scorched earth, destroying the legislative process if he can't call all the shots as the minority leader.
As you mentioned, there are ways around it if the leaders are underhanded and purely partisan....democrats have not shown the spine to do that in recent memory, I hope they do now if they don't regulate filibustering.
Time for the nuclear option, whatever that is so long as it stops obstructionist republicans from controlling as the minority. Republicans use it whenever it's convenient, Democrats don't seem to do that, but it's fine to stop them from starting...but requires a rule change to make it unnecessary. Obstructionism has harmed the nation badly, and is the mantra of Republicans....has been all century.

I also have a thin hope that at least two of Trump's appointees to the supreme court can be removed for perjuring themselves at their confirmation hearings, fbi reports declassified since Trump left prove Kavanaugh and Comey did.

Mordhaus said:

I don't mind the speaking filibuster. I just think doing away with it completely puts in a position where one side can benefit unequally. As an example, doing away with it in regards to appointees led to a supermajority on the Supreme Court. I think having a filibuster available would have stopped at least one of the judges from being approved.

But that’s the thing....they don’t have to prove his thoughts, nor his intent, only the results....because this isn’t a criminal trial and there are very different standards, they only have to show he didn’t preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, violating his oath and duty, because the only possible sentence is for him to be bared from office. His lack of action during the attack alone far exceeded that bar.

It’s becoming more likely (but still unlikely) they could get the votes because he’s barely putting up a defense. To me it seemed like a mockery of the senate, like they were just proving the point that his defense could be someone standing at the podium shouting “Bababoui, Bababoui, Howard Stern’s penis!” and still he would not be convicted...and I think that’s pissing off some Republican senators....but there are also many who are reading books and unrelated documents among other distractions and clearly not paying attention at all, proving the defense correct, they could say anything and still get him off without presenting any defense. A sad state.
On the contrary, the prosecution’s case is straight forward with video evidence and records of what Trump tweeted and did (or didn’t do like not calling in the national guard) during the attack on top of the horrific personal experiences of the same senators hearing the case....hard to forget a lynch mob looking for you and your family to hang less than a month ago.

Remember, there is no possible prison term here, no fine, nothing but baring him from office, that’s it. There should be a criminal trial for treason IMO, but it wouldn’t be a slam dunk. I think the standard isn’t what he meant, it’s what a reasonable person would think he meant. That’s not prosecuting thought crime, it’s prosecuting speech and actions that it’s plainly foreseeable will incite real crimes.

I barely remember the inauguration riots, the million pussy hat march made more news....Trump’s “biggest crowd ever” nonsense got more airtime, and damages and injuries were fairly minimal so, especially when faced with the fresh scars from 2020, they’re easy to forget. That said, I don’t disagree....by 2022 new scandals and a desire to forget will erase this from many people’s memories.

Mordhaus said:

I haven't watched the hearings. To me it's still a case of bread and circuses. They can't convict, so all of this is just an attempt to burn these images into a voting publics mind that forgets events longer than 6 months ago. This won't even be remembered by the average person by the next votes in 2022. Just like most people don't recall the riots that were sort of incited by liberals in 2017 prior to and during the inauguration. Admittedly, they didn't storm congress, but they did break into buildings, burn cars, and injure people.

Did Trump probably intend for violence? Probably, but proving his thoughts are going to take a lot more than words he used. Thankfully we haven't started putting people away for thoughtcrimes yet or I would be fucked.
