The Abyss Drowning Scene
Proper procedure for CPR
*Chuck Norris. Bicycle Kick to the chest. Clean remains with mop.
*MacGyver. Construct an elaborate Rube Goldberg machine using a piece of toast, some metal wires, and a rubber hammer. **Bonus points: Build sentient robots of the same materials.
*Keira Knightly. Show your boobs.
*William Shatner. Talk about yourself until the patient walks off in disgust.
*Rosie O'Donnel. See: 'Keira Knightly' and 'William Shatner' combined.
If you are none of these people, the best thing to do is to panic and run around with your arms flailing wildly.

Large Bomb Detonated Under Lake
Looks like a rube goldberg machine designed to ruin a perfectly good camera. At least they got the SD card back.
Girl spins on escalator
I agree with much you say, and I admit my view of engineering may be too broad from many people's point of view, but to me, all it needs to be engineering is the application of science to change the world--including for totally trivial changes such as stuff and nonsense.
I like elegant pranks. I enjoyed ditch day (I'm a Techer). I enjoy Rube Goldberg machines that do nothing but look cool. I like this use of a machine for a completely unintended, possibly dangerous, but very cool result. It's an application of basic physics, using the machine. and the thought that anyone would not think it germane to engineering floors me.
Possibly The Most Epic G-Mod Rube Goldberg Video Ever
>> ^Payback:
Big deal, ANYONE can get a goal on an empty net. Nice sift!
That's what qualifies it as a true Rube Goldberg Machine: it completes a mundane task.
Honda Accord - Domino Effect Ad
This is more of a 'Rube Goldberg machine' (instead of a 'Domino effect').
(This also may be a dupe - I'd be surprised otherwise).
I suggest you edit the title and description accordingly. I will edit this comment.

Guy creates his own Honda styled Chain Reaction
Yep. There's some insane work behind this!
Speaking of Goldberg, I really like that oldie pc game made by Sierra where you had to build goldberg machines! it was really nice.

They are called Rube Goldberg machines, named after the artist who drew machines like this in the 30's. Sorry to nitpick.
This is probably one of the best ones I've seen.
A pyromaniac's Rube Goldberg chain reaction
"The way of things" or "Der Lauf der Dinge" 1987. By swiss artists Peter Fischli & David Weiss.
"Didn't like that it wasn't all one take, and didn't like that it wasn't true to the spirit of a Rube Goldberg machine (it didn't complete a simple task, e.g., filling a glass of water or sharpening a pencil). Still really cool though."
" too many edits."
Get some culture ya bastards. It's art, not a physics experiment, and it is the finest example of its kind.

Very neat video. Some of the legs of the machine seemed to be very chancy, such as the rotating wheel powered by firecrackers and the boat in water. Glad to see that they went off.
However, what makes this a Goldberg machine? If that was the end (as it seemed to be), it never performed a 'simple task in a complex/extravagant way', which is how I always heard Goldberg machines explained.
Anyway, still gets a vote.
