Advanced search form seems to be whacked (Internet Talk Post)
worksforme, firefox on a PC (at work), but I'm pretty sure it worked at home with FF on a Mac as well.
Wanted: YouTube to AVI download and converter (Howto Talk Post)
Can I give an answer that doesn't fit the original question? Instead of converting them why not just download them in original form and install VLC media player? It can play EvErYtHiNg you can throw at it and then some. No loss of quality or increase in file size because of conversion.
If that is an acceptable answer then if you use firefox install the VideoDownloadHelper plugin which can create a little greyed out icon on your status bar. When a supported video is detected on the currently active page it will become a colored animated icon where you can download the file.
OTHERWISE install the VideoDownloadHelper and use its built in conversion on the fly ability
Stephen Colbert Dances to Daft Punk's "Get Lucky"
Dear Canadian viewers, this Chrome and Firefox extension will allow you to view it (and any US only material like Netflix):
mediahint.com
"Don't F**k with New York" - Lewis Black Slams Texas
I get that with Firefox but I don't get those ads with Chrome. I do have the AdBlock Pro extension installed so YMMV...
wow, 3 long commercials before I got to the main video..
Nation Demands New Photo of Edward Snowdon
That's (part) of why I use Firefox with Adblock, Noscript, default block cookies (whitelist when necessary), and even ran that one that lists all the external domains that a page is trying to scuttle off to with allow/disallow for a while. Eventually I got sick of having to allow 10 new domains every time I visited a new page for the first time (or see a video from a new host here on the sift), which was causing me to just give up and load in Chrome rather than stick with it. So now I'm back to just that first set.
However, the thought of somebody running a honeypot operation and generating dummy data for advertisers (or the NSA) to mine makes me cackle with delight....
"... private information is being collected by someone other than advertisers."
Hmmm... never thought of it that way.

Hi Lucky,
I need to redownload the Videosift search plugin but keep hitting an error.
Specifically:
Firefox could not download the search plugin from:

Something to do with the 5.0 upgrade?
Wanted: YouTube to AVI download and converter (Howto Talk Post)
I use a userscript called Youtube Center. It allows you to download the videos in mp4, flv, webm and 3gp formats. You need to have Greasemonkey or Scriptish installed on Firefox to use userscripts. I don't know about other browsers.
Wanted: YouTube to AVI download and converter (Howto Talk Post)
You'll have to use Firefox:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/
Then convert using:

Glitchy (Engineering Talk Post)
No mobiles-connected through a hard-line o'coaxial-The problems described above occur intermittently and not necessarily all of them at once-
It may have something to do with having viewed several embeds from their thumbnails, I dunno-Looks as if my problem may be on my end...Using Firefox-Haven't tried it in Chrome or Safari or LalalLalLA, though..What's VS 5.0 optimized for or is it??
Bachmann Goes Rogue, Literally Races Away From CNN Reporter
I had to go to the source page to watch this, using Firefox 19.0.2.
I'm ashamed to admit sometimes that my home state produced Bachmann.
Bachmann Goes Rogue, Literally Races Away From CNN Reporter
Does not work here or on the source website for me-
U.S./Firefox/PC
Found this one that works but with Muffington Post editorializing after (sucks balls as much as the CNN reporter and Bachmann ignoring each others questions!)

Son of a....OK well it's back to the original embed then...at least some people can watch it.
Curious if those that can't see it are able to see it from the source website.

@Grimm
Works for me on the source website, does not work here.

VideoSift bookmarklet not working (Internet Talk Post)
It normally works for me, but It does fail to work if I have a full queue and want to use 2 pp's for an extra slot (firefox, Mac OS X 10.5.8 9L30 but upgrading soon). It seems to work at first, then goes astray on the final 'next' to submit part.
If you just open a new window and copy out the fields that the bookmarklet added, it works in the other window.
I don't normally have 2 pp's, so have only run into this a few times.
Anyone else getting lesbian dating ads on VideoSift? (Blog Entry by dag)
Firefox+Noscript dude!
I thought I was, but it turns out that those popups are coming from my "other" active browser session...
