Conan O'Brien and Chelsea's Nude Shower Fight!
Ahhhh... Ok... I'm watching this without having watched the Chelsea Handler/Sandra Bullock Nude Shower Fight Scene first.
Context is everything.
Trinity escapes ! ( Matrix Opening scene)
I remember being stunned when I first saw that. A few months later I watched it again in a university lecture and the whole theatre stood up and applauded the first fight scene
Awesome movie. too bad they never made any sequels.
Honest Dark Knight Rises Trailer
I unashamedly loved this movie. I was vaguely aware of plot holes, but I really didn't give a fuck as I was simply enjoying myself too much.
Contrast that with Prometheus. I went expecting a good movie and after the frickin *opening scene* I was worried. By the halfway point, the sheer stupidity of the characters and the story had me rooting for everyone to die (and there wasn't even a central memorable villian to get behind!)
There were only a few things in Nolans Batman trilogy I didn't like: the over the top voice, and the fight scenes. (Batman is supposed to be one of the greatest martial artists in the world, and we didn't get one decent fight)
GREATEST Fight Scene EVER
I am a fan of this scene a bit more: http://videosift.com/video/Watch-the-baddest-fight-scene-you-ve-never-seen
GREATEST Fight Scene EVER
Man, I haven't watched a martial arts film in ages.
The thing I always liked about Jackie Chan was the humour and ingenuity of the choreography. The fight scene at the end of Fearless with the 3 segment whip and Katana is probably my favorite though.
Bruce Lee vs Kareem Abdul Jabbar

Oddest fight scene ever!
I know, "best"? What about all the time stood around waiting to get his ass kicked? Standing in the sunlight for a good 5 seconds when all he needed to do was sidestep? He was wearing sunglasses the whole fight too!

I didn't know that at all... I thought '88 was going to be the last, and wouldn't be sad if it had ended with '88 as the ending was superb. Quality television.

I ing love This Is England!
I love that you love it! Have you seen they're going to make a TIE '90 and it's going to be a full series, not just a three-parter? Yes!

*Quality for Shane Meadows & his MASTERPIECE
Thanks mate! Everyone should watch at least one piece of his work, he's one of the best! I've downloaded Dead Man's Shoes, a few weeks ago, still not got round to it... will hopefully get on it this weekend

Thank you SO much! There's tons of amazing clips from it, but alas I don't think it's reaching an appreciative audience

SKYFALL - Official Teaser Trailer
>> ^spoco2:
The Bourne Indentity, first in serious. An AWESOME film, where the action scenes were nail biting, fantastically staged, and you could SEE what was happening, UNDERSTAND what was going on. Great film.
Next film, Bourne Supremacy. Had a great story, but I couldn't fricken STAND the action scenes, couldn't tell what was going on.
Compare this one from the Bourne Supremacy
with this one from the Bourne Identity
To me, the first one is confusing, a jumble of fast cuts and blurry movement. The second is nicely staged, has good beats, and lets you know what's going on.
I guess it depends on the directors intention. I like both those fight scenes. The Bourne Identity lets me sit back and admire the craft of a well staged dance, but the second one feels more urgent, more real.
I haven't been in a real fight for a long time, but "a jumble of fast cuts and blurry movement" is a pretty accurate description of your perception in that kind of situation. You don't know what's going on, it's not staged and there are no good beats.
Supremacy and Ultimatum were both directed by Paul Greengrass, who has always followed a more documentary style approach to film making. Doug Liman, I guess has a more theatrical approach.
I feel there's room for both styles.
The Dark Knight Rises - Trailer 3
Yeah, I had hoped we were past fight scenes in movies where they seem to be "aiming to miss".
The Dark Knight Rises - Trailer 3
Maybe I'm just being a nitpick and expecting too much from a big-budget movie, but that fight scene at ~1:44 really set off my schlock meter. The choreography was ridiculous.
