Hitchens argue for his book based on the letters Theresa wrote shortly before her death(?), and Donohue recites what she did during her lifetime. How is that relevant to Hitchens argument and statement that she lost her faith before passing away? It's like Donohue knew he couldn't refute Hitchen's arguments and instead decided to talk about something completely different, some (to the discussion at hand) meaningless facts that are not disputed by anyone. Sadly, that just makes him embarrasing to listen to.

it always seems a little embarrasing (sp?) to me to be the oldest borther in the bunch. kinda big and akward compared to the rest. same with the hansons. it's cool to be the little guy, but kinda icky to see the big guy still playing with his little brothers.

Thank God for Ron Paul. I've held on to the assertion (at times tenuously) that they can't be as bad as their elected officials because many liberals I meet aren't as embarrasingly craven as theirs, but it's nice to see someone talk some fucking sense.

Its grossly embarrasing that these things are still even considered an issue at all anymore. What does it say about human intelligence as a whole, that the very simplest test of it conceivable - the acceptance of a subset of the population that loves the same sex and clearly causes no harm to anyone - is failed miserably by virtually everyone else?

Its always nice to see Carl, I think for many of us who read his books, its not too much of a stretch to say that he changed our lives. There's no going back to the cowering fear and confusing darkness of an unenlightened, superstition imbued life after learning how to think skeptically from him. He was simultaneously incandescently brilliant and deeply poetic, an extreme rarity. The planet is impoverished greatly for his loss. That said, its a shame this interview is essentially totally wasted on Charlie Rose. Nearly all his questions are frustratingly (even embarrasingly) childish and trite. It's painfully obvious he doesn't get it even by the end of the interview, "faith, Carl, faith". Whatever Charlie.

Why the embarrasement?? Cause, I'm white, and that song blew chunky soup, bad enough to smell the hippie that wrote it.....perhaps that is a sign of a good song to some, my suggestion, buy more soap, instead of cuppucino.....

Ahhh, come on. So his philosophy isn't the best or brightest around. He does have some OK songs. (the video IS sort of a throwback) But why embarrasment? and to white people no less?

As for the background check - hell, the bio. of Jesus looks like shit on the internet. I don't know why but the "series of tubes" seems to reject thought, and constructive analysis like hostile bacteria.

I don't agree with penn and teller on everything aaaaand this is one of those things. The argument that "oh well you know, those kids would just be turned out by pimps anyway if they weren't working in a sweatshop" is just embarrasingly laughable. Penn LOVES the libertarianism and ADORES the cato institute. You can tell when he takes it too far....
