exactly. this was confirmed on the miniseries commentary track by Ron D.Moore and in my opinion both livened the show up as well as made it more realistic (I know, that's an almost impossible feat - 1/3 sarcasm).

Well, QM she's forever getting a downvote from me for that reason. Why these talk show tools waste their time w/ her. Her opinions "strong"? .. belligerent fits better. Her motivations are not altruistic..she's a shrill diva, drunk on negative attention.
As for the host (tool), he was soo obvious. It's like they were both playing ad-lib roles.

Maynard is one of the jazz trumpet legends. He gets a bad rep for being a "high-note only" diva of trumpet but that's not fair to him. He led a solid band and had a solid sound. In addition, in this video, his tenor sax player was amazing. This tune is an ounce of back and a pound of jazz. Don't go playing it down.
