HerbWatsonThe reason for my comment was to point out that people clearly adore this animal (if the up votes are anything to go by), and the disparity of how this animal will be treated.
Indeed if we did even the most humane slaughter to our pets, we would call it hell, and be arrested for our barbarism. But for a cow? It's legal, but even still we better hide it away.
I wonder how many people would have upvoted this video if we saw the rest of the farming process, as "humane" as it is.
I didn't straw man anything. His argument was that the animal is about to "go through hell" in "a few days".
My counter is that the animal is not going to go through hell (not abused) and will be living for more than a few days. I backed that assertion up with facts that I am familiar with for the subject matter. I didn't even mention other inaccuracies about the butchering process that really have nothing to do with the animal going "through hell" since it has been rendered unconscious before anything happens.
Does every fact in his description have to be 100% false for his overall analysis to be repudiated? Seems like a high bar for challenging an opinion.

The reality is that what he said is true: The cow is doomed and will be killed using the methods he described.
Why would someone beat their animals? It would just stress them out so the animals will get sick and probably die, losing the farmer money. And who can pick up 500 lbs to throw it into a truck? Your characterization is unrealistic and likely stems from your concern for the animals, which is admirable, but isn't based in reality.

This is Charles Murray at Middlebury College all over again. Thankfully this time nobody got injured when the lefties lashed out.
Once again lefties do not understand a nuanced subject so they cling to moral outrage which quickly escalates to violence when they don't get their way - silencing free speech.
The senator was not blaming muslims for the attack, he specifically said there is no justification for the attack. He was saying that lefties are silencing free speech, and that in turn radicalizes right leaning people - which is a problem, because the last thing the world needs is right leaning people being radicalized into full blown racists - because nobody is allowed civil discourse, which divides people into extremes.
And this egging is a perfect analogy for the problem the senator was describing.

...Fully rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, restoring our natural ecosystems (needed), dramatically expanding renewable power generation (needed, but it also doesn't mean we should be throwing money away on stupid shit like solar roadways), overhauling our entire transportation system (regional flights, which sort of make up around 70% of total flights, would be targeted for elimination and massively expensive (slower) electrical trains would be put in their place), upgrading all our buildings (most businesses are already moving to green solutions) , jumpstarting US clean manufacturing (see highly expensive and non-competitive with cheaper overseas mfg), transforming US agriculture (forcing a move from cows/pigs/chickens to plant based proteins)...
While we are at it, might as well do the following:
A job with family-sustaining wages, family and medical leave, vacations, and retirement security (Nice, but you can't just make these jobs available. They are supply and demand.)
High-quality education, including higher education and trade schools (Needed)
High-quality health care (Needed)
Clean air and water (Needed)
Healthy food (Subjective, is meat considered healthy?)
Safe, affordable, adequate housing (because this works, ie Projects...)
An economic environment free of monopolies (Technically this exists already, except in countries outside of the USA and EU)
Economic security to all who are unable or unwilling to work (SWEET! SIGN ME UP FOR THAT CHECK!!!)
