Thanks for the link, I have heard of this one but haven't seen it, will check it out. I have seen "Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips" and on Youtube there are some of the racist clips, like Bugs Bunny in "Southern Fried Rabbit", where he pretends to be a slave in front of Yosemite Sam.

On the same subject, one thing I noticed firsthand was for the longest time in the early 70s the TV would show the complete cartoon where Elmer Fudd plays a Canadian Mountie and at the end he has Bugs Bunny in front of a firing squad. He asks Bugs if he has any last requests and Bugs says "I wish......I wish.......I wish I was in Dixie" and it cuts to a scene in a cotton field with several guys in black face singing "Camptown Ladies". Then one day they stopped showing the final scene, they would cut to the closing "That's All Folks" right after Bugs says "I wish I was in Dixie".

I was confused at first at the change, then slowly figured out why they stopped showing that final scene. Let me see if I can find it online.

I've always seen Videosift as a collaboration. The content here reflects a community. When a video is posted that polarizes us and puts us at odds, then it should be questioned.

This reminds of an article Cracked.com did a while ago about racist Disney characters.

The NY Times article mentions the “Censored 11” but doesn’t say what they are, other than “Coal Black…” Here is a list of them.

And this video, though stupid, is rather similar to something like Jesus Camp, any of the Westboro cult videos, or other vids currently on the site that paint all members of a group as raving lunatics via their own words.

And I didn't think the "races" rule existed anymore after Coal Black. For content-based questions, I lean toward letting the votes decide. I get the sneaking feeling that this will be downvoted into oblivion the moment it returns.

Coal Black??? And I get the Non-Sequiter award most of the time....That cartoon has nothing to do with monkeys' gravitating towards the lowest common denominator as society spirals downward, I simply want no part of the banter aside from the news story.....no need to market the thing....unless you want to use it as a case study in the mechanism of western culture's demise......
