MMA fighters get chiropractic adjustment

Payback says...

Why is the junk science of chiropractic still a thing? It's like homeopathy.

Any "medical procedure" that claims to rid the body of cancers by causing gases to forcibly be extracted from cartilage is the worst form of snake oil.

World's Fastest Butcher

aaronfr says...

Also, perhaps, the world's least discerning butcher. I don't really consider this butchering although it is certainly common in South and SE Asia. Taking a chicken and hacking it into 100 pieces with all of the bone and cartilage and meat mixed together takes no skill and results in pieces of chicken that are only useful for soups and curries.

It's the delicious slurry being stirred by that giant, stainless paddle that makes these delicious nugglies seem grody~Not to worry. That chicken glop is lovingly whipped. Sinew and tendon, cartilage and growth-enhancers, feet and feathers into a flavorful wad of chickeny yum ready for the deep-fryer!

I intentionally had tendon in my dinner tonight so I'm getting a kick out of your reply. My girlfriend regularly takes my chicken bones and eats the cartilage off them. Although not my favorite we often have chicken feet at our table when we have dim sum with friends. Are you suggesting that we WASTE parts of the chicken just because you aren't used to eating them?

What material would you prefer over stainless steel that would be non reactive and easy to sanitize?

Why do you say "glop is lovingly whipped?" Don't you want uniform mixing and flavor?

Growth enhancers are not necessary. Breeds labeled as "Fryers" grow exceptionally fast eating regular old feed. I once bought a set of Ameraucanas with my fryers. They had the exact upbringing but grew three times as fast (literally).

Are you trying to spread FUD? Are you secretly on an antimeat agenda?

Why is this "terrible"? It looks like real meat to me. All that's happening is it's being breaded... If I made nuggets at home, it'd be the same thing... lump of ground meat + breading + fry...

terrible

I don't have a good answer for this except that it subjectively grossed me out. Feel free to remove the tag as you see fit, of course.

Rabbi faces off with Anti-Circumcision Crusader

SDGundamX says...

@chilaxe

Nearly every medical association in the world disagrees with you (read the page on the Bioethics of Circumcision that I linked to above). There is no conclusive evidence that it causes any decrease in sensitivity or pleasure. If convincing empirical evidence arose in the future, I'd agree with you entirely--it needs to be banned. But until such evidence arises, any law attempting to stop circumcisions doesn't have a leg to stand on.

@Lawdeedaw

I believe I answered your question multiple times, most specifically in my response to hpqp above. Circumcision is more than just a cosmetic adjustment. But, as I've said in other responses, I wouldn't personally be against parents choosing to make other cosmetic adjustments to their children so long as there was no evidence of permanent harm being done. I think most doctors would agree that cutting off someone's earlobes will cause lasting medical harm. According to Wikipedia:

Since the earlobe does not contain cartilage it has a large blood supply and may help to warm the ears and maintain balance.

So, cutting someone's earlobes off seems at the least potentially likely to kill them (through massive blood loss) and may impair both ear and balance functioning. Plus it doesn't seem like it would prevent any illnesses either. That's why I find it a red-herring argument when discussing circumcision. It's a nice emotional visual, I'll give you that. But it's irrelevant to whether circumcisions should be legally banned or not.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't finish my response to chilaxe before I hit submit. Plus fixed some typos/tags.

a well done fake video.
No way anything with a heart beat would just be " standing around looking side to side" if it had its elongated face ripped off, it would of had to snap the face bones, break cartilage sever veins. Just not happen-in Holmes

Jamie Oliver - Chicken Nugget Fail

BoneRemake says...

I don't get it, take out the chicken skin, and whats not healthy about that ? its frugal and a great way to use all your chicken.

The way he describes it, tendons, bits, fat, blood,cartilage etc.. as apposed to ??? veins,muscle tissue ? ? I dislike how lines are drawn as to whats good and whats bad. Myself I would just as well make a stock out of the remainder.
