This may be regional.

When I used the term in the early '90s in sub-urban California these two terms were synonyms, and they both referred to a backhand slap which a strong person would administer to a weak person (bitch), because it is a weaker slap, and would therefor show contempt.

Wiktionary notes the possible use as synonyms, but I suppose it is not as clear cut as I was lead to believe.

That's what I get for trying to be pedantic with slang.

Please do. I'll remove them as you can point them out. The Braniac one I think I removed when you pointed it out. I simply don't have enough time in the day to find all the bad videos, so I just kick out the worst ones when I find them.

Glancing through your science channel, it appears to be a joke anyway. I can't understand why you hold this piece up to such a high level of scrutiny when you have bloody Brainiac posts in your channel. Brainiac is like the antitheses of science. You even have a post on the Water Car inventor there...

I've never seen Brainiac, but it's a shame to hear they've faked their stuff. However I've been doing some research on thermite (how I found this clip, actually), and it burns at around 2500+ degrees, which is enough to melt through a car engine, concrete, asphalt, or just about anything you set it on. So if they're not doing the Irreversible Thermite Reaction for real...they may as well be.

This and the explosions were the only good thing about Brainiac. What a retarded show that was, nothing remotely brainy about it. And yes many explosions look really contrived, so that article doesn't come as a surprise.
