Black Bear Summer Skiing in Whistler, BC.
that was cool. If you are a snowboarder or skier, I couldn't recommend Blackcomb/Whistler in BC enough. Definitely, the best place I've ever skied.

Most Amazing Whistler in the World
Very good. But I think I still prefer the style of Roger Whittaker...

Snowboarder vs Ski Lift
I used to use one of these at the top of Whistler but we called it a T-bar lift.

The workers compensation claim is here: http://ingridandneil.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/wcbdogcase2010.pdf
If you look at the OAW press releases it is pretty funny. They go from:

In 2004, Howling Dog Tours Ltd. (Canmore) sold their 50% interest in "Howling Dog Tours Whistler Inc." to Mr. Robert Fawcett (Lawyer Corey Steinberg, who represents the worker). In May 2010, Howling Dog Whistler was bought by Outdoor Adventures Whistler.
The booking is done through The Adventure Group tagwhistler.com
My favorite part is that WorkSafe BC paid this dog killer compensation, and that it is "unlikely that Howling Dog Tours or Outdoor Adventures Whistler will face any charges in the massacre."

The story only came out because the manager of the company who raised the dogs and then killed them all himself with a knife and bullets, went to get disability from the gov't.
The story only came out because of his PTSD claim.
Fuck Whistler. Hell, fuck Canada, you sick fucks.
The dog killer is the former general manager and a former owner of Howling Dog Tours Whistler, now owned by OAW

Ralph Nader: Only the Super Rich Can Save Us
@chilaxe what about the far right? It seems as long as you guys have the KKK rooting for you, along with their dog whistlers like Limbaugh, Beck, and the Pauls at the forefront of conservative and libertarian thought's public image, you're never going to get the support of present-day liberals, idealistic or otherwise.
Then you have the secessionists, the goldbugs, the tenthers, the birthers, the minutemen, the militias, and the Paulites who want to destroy the modern economy with discredited economic theories from the 19th Century. Let's not even get started on the huge arm of the "small government" movement that want to pass laws regarding all human sexual activity, and engage in large scale wars with non-Christian religions.
If you want to judge a movement's capability for rational thought based on it's outliers, there's a lot worse over in your house than in mine.

First tragedy of the new winter olympics (Sports Talk Post)
Looking at the setting of the accident, I have to disagree. The accident should have been predicted, or at least anticipated as possible. Just past the final curve, where speeds are exceeding 140 km/h, the Whistler track is lined with a series of un-padded steel poles. Steel poles and human bodies hurtling at such speeds do not make for comfortable partners. While the variables that contribute to any one accident may be impossible to calculate, course designers must take care to make sure that their design decisions don't contribute to the death of a participant. It unfortunately always takes a death to change things, look at Senna and Earnhardt and the subsequent changes in course design and safety for proof of this.
